I'm so happy I found this place!!! I needed an extra last minute gift for a birthday and looked up bakeries on yelp. This was one of the best picks out of the bunch and it is close to where I live. I ordered 3 of the little cakes in a tower with a bow and flower. It was extremely easy to order (I did everything online). I drove there and they brought it out to my car; the employee was adorable. My family and I have been to Nothing Bundt Cakes in Troy many, many times. We have loved their cakes however my recent experience that just occurred will prevent us from ever returning again. I stopped in to pick up 2 dozen bundtinis for my son's daycare birthday treat, as well as another small cake. During check out, I asked for a separate container/box (or anything) as I wanted to separate the the bundtinis before dropping them off at his daycare, as the daycare didn't need all 24. The cashier, LaPara stated they couldn't provide me with anything at all. I tried to clarify thinking there must be some kind of misunderstanding as they obviously must have even just a small empty container in their establishment. The cashier stated she would ask and then returned with a lady who I am assuming is the owner or manager. The lady stated they can't give me any sort of empty box, so then I offered to even pay for an empty box if that was the issue (even though I had just spent 50$ there). The lady then stated I could buy an empty container for 2$, but that they were making an exception for me. I'm sorry, but me getting charged for an empty cardboard/paper box is somehow doing me a favor? Ridiculous. I ended up paying the 2$ for the box, but that will be the last time I spend any money there. I will say their cakes are good- overpriced but we always still purchased because we loved their red velvet. Unfortunately though, the bad customer service outweighs the taste of the cake so we will not be returning. I will also be sharing this experience with friends, family, and coworkers as well as not recommending this establishment to anybody anymore. read more

I don't like cake but I was in charge of birthday dessert so stopped in and got 4 little cakes. The GF folks loved theirs and said it was great. At first people took a slice and put it on their plate but then it turned into a free-for-all with people just forking bits of every flavor and sampling them all. The people that work there were so helpful and nice and explained all the flavors that I had questions about. Ohhhh MY.. what to say.. I absolutely LOVE this place. My husband is the GM at the MOD pizza next door, so I'm constantly fighting my urges to not eat cake EVERYDAY lol. I love their red velvet cake it has little chocolate chips in it and also the pecan and praline bundt cake. The icing is like icing cream cheese or something it's absolutely to die for. As a disclaimer I don't even like cake lol I'm more of a cheese cake kind of girl but it's all fair game with their cakes! The ladies that work their are really nice and the woman that owns this location is the wife of the lions quarterback which I think is pretty cool because he comes and shows his support from time to time. Overall I've never had any issues with this location they have tons of different little things outside of cake. My ONLY issue if I'm being picky is that I wish they would put forks in the takeout bags for the small personal cakes just because I'm soooo GREEDY as soon as I get in the car I be ready to eat some of it lol. I LOVE THIS PLACE. Seriously hands down the most moist cake I have ever eaten in my entire life. White chocolate raspberry ended up being my favorite flavor so far and is something I never would have tried but the girl working there talked me into it so I did and LOVED it. I have had lemon, red velvet, chocolate chocolate chip, peanut butter chocolate, whites chocolate raspberry, and confetti. The icing is a universal cream cheese so it's the same on every cake but compliments each flavor so well. The cakes are also reasonably priced in my opinion for only 4.25 for a individual cake that is plenty for one person! The inside of the store is so cute and the workers are so friendly! This location used to be the best, that is until they started changing the amount of frosting they use on the cakes. The buntlets and cakes now have thin ribbons of frosting compared to the thick ribbons they used to have (compare past photos with any purchase you make now). Even if you request extra frosting it's still less than it used to be,and if you ask about the obvious change in amount of frosting they "claim" the amount is the same, which is so not true. My family loves frosting and we always request extra and know that the current amounts are not what we were getting a year and a half ago, in fact, even with extra frosting you can still see space between the ribbons when in the past the extra ribbons would be layered on the existing ribbons without spaces. It seems like this location is trying to save on costs by saving frosting, but that's not a good idea when there are now four locations instead of two. If I have to fight through horrible construction and backups to get a cake it better be exactly how I want it and not part of cost saving measures. I'll be trying the Rochester Hills or Sterling Heights locations to see if they are also trying to cut costs via frosting. If so, I'll just find a good mom & pop bakery that understands getting a customer what they want and are paying for. The corporate offices need to do a standards check for this location to make sure they are adhering to the same standards as the other bakeries. And for folks that will dismiss this review because they don't like a lot of frosting... It's easier to scrape what you don't want off and not eat it, rather than not have enough at all when you paid for it! read more

I was a little skeptical at first about a bakery that only bakes bundt cakes. I was pleasantly surprised during my first visit! The employees are very friendly and encourage you try the samples they have out. The cake itself is delicious! They are moist, fluffy, and super flavorful. WOW, what a great little cake shop. My wife and I visited Nothing Bundt Cakes for the first time last week and were absolutely amazed at how great their cakes are. My wife had the lemon and I had the carrot. Both were very flavorful, moist and the perfect texture . The buttercream frosting had the perfect consistency (not grainy or watery) and wasn't overly sweet. The staff are very polite and helpful and as others have pointed out, offer a variety of samples . The only bakery that I've ever enjoyed more is Magnolias in Chicago. I not sure that they're better then NBC but they have a little greater variety. All I can say to Nothing Bundt Cakes is ....... My husband and I had just finished dinner and he know's Nothing Bundt Cakes are my fav. So we pull up and much to my dismay, they were closing. I rolled down the window to ask, "are you closing?" The lady (the owner) turns to us and says, "yes we closed at 7p." It was 7:56p. Very disappointed. And not only with the mishap but also with the way it was handled. There was no regret or real effort to remedy. Preparing for a child's birthday, I spent a lot of time with my family making a selection on the Nothing Bundt Cakes website, only to arrive the next day and find out that my order was missing from their system. Mind you, I received a receipt from them prior with instructions to pick up the next day, and had my card charged. That's a lot of my time wasted for nothing. As a result, I was late to the birthday party preparation, and was sold what they had on sale at the moment, with the lemon flavor in Bundtinis being terrible and not suitable for babies, and red velvet bland like paper. The bigger cake (white chocolate raspberry) was OK, but it had a crazy amount of frosting, and my order specifically had Drizzle. Even more disappointed because my previous (first) experience with them was great, and I counted on them to make the special day great for us, not stressful. Overall I recommend buying from their store, not ordering online. They should get rid of online option since they can't handle it well. read more
