The cacio e pepe was a little too peppery for me but maybe that's the point, the chicken cutlet was perfect...crispy and juicy and the meatballs had a great little kick. Decided to try Noto Americano for the 1st time for Father's Day takeout. We ordered the Chicken Parmigana, Lemon Bay Chicken and a Meatball Grinder. The price for takeout for these (3) things were on the high side to not include a side salad. With that said, we were aware that those weren't included as it wasnt listed on their online ordering. We just figured the portion for both Entrees were likely larger and thats why you paid a la carte for the salad. We come back home with the takeout and to our surprise for quite a high price, the portions were small. How small, each meal fit with pasta inside a plastic container, similar to those used for Asian takeout. For any other restaurant that serves Chicken Parmigana, its always been a larger round metal dish with pasta on the side. Typically with 2 pieces of chicken. Putting portion aside as one can argue that we may have been able to find that out before ordering, the (2) entrees were not great. The Chicken Parmigana had one piece of chicken and the chicken was charred, dry, minimal amount of cheese and the both the chicken and pasta itself had a scarce amount of pasta sauce. I found myself having to scrub the side of the dish for any sauce left. The lemon bay chicken was also quite dry and unfortunately the mixture of recip (chicken, pasta and sauce) was quite tasteless. I'm not typically one to leave a 1 or 2 star reviews often, as I'd rather just not go again to the place where I had said experience but between the quality of food, price and portion, this place falls into a bit of an exception for me. Look, I've eaten at many places, if your portions are going to small for the price (and without sides), then the quality needs to EXCEED the excepted regional standard for that dish to justify that reasoning. Didn't feel like cooking tonight, nor did we want to go anywhere so opted for some take out. We've had really good food/experience from Noto dining in so figured we'd try take out. The bolognese was awesome and travels well, this is usually my go to there and it didn't disappoint. My husband had the bay chicken (I think that's what it was called) it was also really tasty and enough of a portion to fill up on. We had tiramisu which was a huge piece and really good, it's light and flavorful. Not overly sweet. My only complaint was the chicken parm grinder, not sure what it was but it was really bland, and it got lost in the bread. We had the garlic bread with heirloom tomatoes which was also very tasty. Overall as usual really good and will go back, might not try the sandwich again but the meals/apps/dessert were all on point read more

The food was pretty good here. Classic Italian fare with great balance of flavors. The seafood you could tell was fresh and I really appreciated that our server allowed me to make a change to the frutti di mare dish. It was supposed to come with a classic red sauce but I asked for a lemon white wine sauce as that is how I like to enjoy seafood pasta. They went above and beyond to make dinner delicious. This restaurant is very beautiful inside and romantic. It was our first time there and we got there as soon as they opened and sat at a table for two in the bar area. Our server was very nice and very prompt. We started out with their Caprese garlic bread, it was very good. I then ordered the lemon chicken with capers and a lemon sauce over pasta. I found the chicken to be a little dry and they really didn't give a lot of sauce so the noodles were dry as well as overcooked. But the flavor was good. My husband ordered their pork chop with butternut squash and bacon loaded mashed potatoes. He said his was good, but his pork chop was a little overdone, so it was dry.. Tried the new Noto Americano in Southington. Parking is a little confusing but we found our way in. It was a little dark inside the restaurant creating a more intimate atmosphere. They also had outdoor dining available and bar seating for different types of vibes throughout the restaurant. I went with 3 friends and we were greeted promptly and I ordered a summer drink called the limoncello spritzer, and it was so refreshing. Made with prosecco and fresh mint leaves. For an appetizer we shared the garlic bread bruschetta and oysters. Both were on point, and the oysters even came with a cute little Tabasco sauce which I thought was a nice aesthetic touch. Dinner was delicious, but I must say a little weird at the same time. I ordered the scallops and risotto with spinach and tomato. The risotto came with diced up carrots which were not mentioned on the menu, and I would have preferred not to have them. For dessert we tried the non alcoholic option of the nitro espresso martini with the tiramisu. I love the fact that they had a mocktail menu. Accompanied by a friend who is a self proclaimed pasta connoisseur we met in the middle coming from opposite ends of the state for an early dinner. The place was quiet when we arrived. Very nice warm ambiance - great for a date night (can't wait to bring my wife here!) Our waitress Maddie (sp?) was the best!! Super friendly and helpful. While looking through the menu I noticed the Alfredo with Cajun shrimp I saw on someone else's yelp review wasn't listed so I mentioned it to her and she said they can make it for me!! So happy to hear that. She also said there are more off the menu items that you can request any time as well - love that. I requested bread to start and we received some complimentary bread and butter. We tried each other's dishes and they were so flavorful! The house made pasta is so good - even my friend agreed. We shared a bottle of wine and truly enjoyed our time there. Pricing is fair and I look forward to returning. One small thing I need to mention is that the parking lot set up was a little weird - basically a free for all - but it does seem like there's street parking available as well. We were very excited to try Noto, there has been a buzz and came highly recommended. Overall it was good, but fell a bit short of the hype. I will give it another time or two before I make any conclusions, but I expected a bit more. To be fair, I am an octopus snob and feel that if you put it on your menu, it should be something you are proud to serve. It was dry and overcooked. The pasta dishes were delicious, although my sister found the bolognese too salty. We've gone twice & both times we had to ask for bread to accompany our meal. I find this odd as all other Italian restaurants automatically serve bread with the meal. When we received the bread it was oddly cold, almost frozen in the center. Very nice experience Saturday night. Ordered the Cajun shrimp and Alfredo dish with asparagus and gluten free pasta. It was the best Alfredo sauce I've ever had. Wow. Sometimes Alfredo can be bland but whatever they put in it had excellent flavor. I'm not a fan of blackened style food so not sure why I got the Cajun shrimp bc it was a bit dry but still enjoyed my meal for like I said the Alfredo sauce was incredible. They were so accommodating. For gluten free pasta it was very good (fyi for anyone wondering the waitress said they don't make the gluten free pasta in house). They do make their own regular pasta in house. My friend got the Bolognese and said the fresh pasta was incredible. I have regularly dined at Noto, about once every 5 or 6 weeks, over the past two years. The food is usually excellent and I recommend you try this restaurant if you're in the area. The pork chop is consistently good, as are some of the past specialties. However, the past few visits I've noticed the service decline quite a bit. I don't want to call out our server by name, but the last visit was one of my least favorite visits thus far. Also, one of our dishes the pasta sauce was very watery and not consistent with previous experiences. It is making me consider other dining options. Great spot but horrible parking. Beware of this because you are better off parking on the street. You can only get out of the lot on one side and it is TIGhT! But on to the good.. Staff were friendly and it's very clean inside. More of a modern look. As for food it was somewhat bland. We tried quite a few things and honestly nothing really hit the spot. Not so much that it was bad, just not anything I would wanna go back for. Pasta seemed homemade which was nice and that was probably best part. Meatballs were soggy. They also dont give you bread unless you ask and the bread/rolls were like the cheap rolls at a wedding. Unless it was a large gathering where I didn't have a choice, I would not rush or look to go back unfortunately. Maybe for Plantsville (small part of Southington) it's considered good Italian food? We started off with the arancini balls and they were beautifully fried and crunchy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. Possibly one of the best arancinis I've ever had. I got the steak pasta and my boyfriend got the veal saltimbocca. Both entrees were LARGE, and each bite had the right amount of protein, veggies, and carbs. They really don't skimp out! We had a great experience at Noto on a busy Friday night. We had reservations and although they had trouble finding it, we were seated promptly. It is a little loud there but there is plenty of seating. Our server was so nice and she was helpful talking through dietary restrictions. That being said, we were happy to see lots of vegetarian and fish options on the menu. We ordered the verdura pizza and the broccolini on top was the best part. My husband ordered the cacio e pepe with shrimp and I had the Cajun shrimp Alfredo pasta special. The prices are on the higher end but the portions are really generous so we had plenty leftover for the next day. Plus the food tastes really good and fresh. The whole community of Southington has been waiting for NOTO to open up and it's finally here! It's a great location right on the trail in downtown Plantsville (old Zingerella's location). I came here on opening day and sat at the bar. The menu looked phenomenal and it was extremely difficult to make a decision but I had to try the homemade pasta. I got the Bolognese, my friend got the flat bread and the other got the calamari. I was able to try a bite of everything and it was all very flavorful and great. Honestly, I've been thinking of the calamari ever since I left. It came with a side of marinara and red wine reduction for dipping, which I love. The texture and crispness was on point. The Bolognese pasta was al dente and the sauce and burrata was perfect. My friend's flatbread was huge and that's an appetizer! Overall, it was a great experience and I'm looking forward to going back and trying everything off the menu. I know it's opening week, so their bar drinks will come with time. I just ordered a glass of wine because the bartender is still learning how to perfect her drinks. Great spot for a bite at the bar or a reservation with your family or date night. First visit to Plantsville's newest restaurant, Noto Americano. Specializing in authentic southern Italian cuisine coupled with some Italian American classics, Noto Americano has something for everyone. Started with the Arrancini appetizer. Crisp on the outside with a smooth creamy center highlighted by Noto's house pulled mozzarella. For the main course, I ordered the Cacio De Pepe and my wife ordered the chicken Parmesan. All of the pasta is house-made and the spaghetti in my Cacio de Pepe was a perfect aldente with a light garlic, Parmesan sauce that was complimented by some pancetta. Really nice dish. The wife commented that the chicken Parmesan was delicious but would have liked a bit more sauce with it. She also loved the fresh made pasta that came with her dish. Service was solid. Also tried a couple of slices of house made pane (bread). All in all a very nice meal for our first visit. Noto is new Sicilian restaurant in downtown Plantsville. We were immediately greeted by the hostess and asked if we had a reservation. We did not. It was mid week and the restaurant seemed empty. We were sat relatively quick at a nice table for two in the front of the restaurant. Our waitress, I think Jessica came right over with water and asked for a drink order. After sitting a couple minutes. I realized this table was extremely drafty! They have a small electric fireplace close by but it wasn't doing the trick. We asked to move and were immediately accommodated. The booth seating away from the window is much warmer. Now for the food... we started withe the house made meatballs and house salads. The meatballs were some of the best I've ever had! The house salad was good and I loved the addition of the green Sicilian olives. Main course. My husband ordered the chicken Parmesan and I had the carbonara. The first words out of his mouth was " oh my god, this is amazing"! He was absolutely right it was! My carbonara was super rich and velvety, with fresh peas and pancetta. For dessert we tried the mini cannolis. Only because I couldn't fit one more ounce of food but needed to try their dessert! They didn't disappoint! In fact for me It was the highlight. Noto is a wonderful new addition to plantsville center. It's not the same old bars, burger and hipster joints we have a million of.
