Unfortunately wasn't able to try the food because I ordered takeout and they were short on delivery drivers. The owner called me, apologized and asked if I was able to pick up, which I wasn't at that time. No problem, it happens I know how short handed resturants are these days. He offered to bring it himself if I could wait until he closed ( wonderful service) which I declined and they gave me a refund. If the service is this good, I hope the foods even better. In a town full of pizza places, this is surely one to avoid! I don't often post reviews and when I do, it's either for an amazing experience or a terrible one; this one is on the latter end. Ordered a Penne ala Vodka pizza, which is one of my favorites to get. Now, you would think that ordering a pizza like that, the sauce in it would either be vodka sauce or at the very least a white sauce to allow the "ala vodka" to shine.... Boy would you be in for a surprise if you got it...RED SAUCE!! On a "ala vodka" pizza?! All the description says is "Aces award winning pizza" so I guess you're supposed to guess incorrectly at their pizza. Apparently, there's also a "Vodka Pizza" on the menu with vodka sauce, but that doesn't come with any pasta on it and is extra money to add to it. Make that make sense. Anyways, called to ask why it was like this and the owner, whose name is "Ace" must have gotten offended because he told me it was "award winning" and that I didn't know what I was talking about. He hung up on me! If I am going to pay $25 for a pizza there are plenty of other places in town I would go to: Domenic and Vinnie's, Riverbend, even Spartan's! If you want an excellent Penne Ala Vodka pizza, go to The Avenue in Berlin, CT and don't patronize this place!! read more

I was really craving some pizza (and also had no desire to cook) so I decided to check out Nonna! It was just myself for the night so I was trying find somewhere that sold by slice, which is not very typical for CT pizza places but after doing some research, I saw they had slices! After driving 20 minutes, when I got there, I saw there were no slices and was informed they don't sell by slice, which was disappointing. However, they must've sold by the slice at one point because the pictures on yelp show differently, but the pictures I looked at must've been on the older side, which is partially my fault. With that, I ordered their famous penne vodka pizza and I thought the sauce was very good! I don't think I am a new haven pizza style girl through and through but this one wasn't bad. The only thing is that the pasta and cheese were sliding off, making it impossible to eat for first 20 minutes. I also got a chicken parm sandwich and the pieces of chicken were cut up almost too much that every time I took a bite, pieces of chicken were flying out. I would've preferred one big piece of chicken instead of it being sliced up. My dog did enjoy the pieces that fell on the floor, haha! read more

Best pizza in Southington. Good flavor and char on the crust. Good flavor to the sauce. Good stability to the crust. Not overly floppy. I give them an 8.3 on my own One Bite Scale. I'm not from the area but I was visiting a friend who suggested this place. The service was 10/10! They were very attentive and willing to go the extra mile. Haven't seen service like that in a while. The food was so delicious. I definitely recommend the Southington masher which is a baked potato styled pizza. We ordered two types of wings- chipotle bbq and mango chili. The mango was my favorite- not too mangoy and not too Spicy. Tip: they have ice buckets built into the wall. So if you call them ahead they can prepare it for you if you decide to bring wine and such! read more

Nice place. We did the chicken parm pizza. The cheese was nice and fresh. It was think enough to hold the weight of chicken Parmesan but not what I would call thick. Unnoticed a lot of people do take out from here be I see it more of a take out place because it has 3 booths and 2/3 tables with chairs. Staff was extremely nice. read more

We visited on 5/24/20 to celebrate my daughter's birthday and finally enjoy eating out after always eating at home due to covid19 restrictions. We made a good choice. We were able to eat at one of the tables in front of the pizza shop. So here's my breakdown Service: We received very attentive and friendly service from Ace. He also added some wings free of charge for daughter's birthday. The Food: The wings were good - not flavor I'd pick, but it was my daughter's choice. The Pizza: It had a delicious crusty on outside chewy in middle crust, with some nice puffy bubbles. We bought two types, a classic pepperoni (My daughter's favorite), which had big slices of pepperoni, and the Prosciutto Joe which had the prosciutto and red onions. The sauce was good and not too much. The cheese was also good, but the one thing I felt needed a little more sharpness. The medium pizza is what many places have as their large, 16". Price: Very reasonable 1 regular pizza with 1 topping was $15 and the specialty was about $18. I would most certainly, happily recommend this place and although my family and love to explore new pizza places we will visit again :) read more

Good food, good prices. I wasn't sure what to expect with this place but I was pleasantly surprised. The pizza was really tasty! Great cheese to crust ratio with a little bit of sauce. The pepperoni is laughably large but still delicious. My grandmother tried the buffalo chicken pizza and she said it was very spicy but delicious nonetheless. The calzone was a bit odd...overload of cheese with verrryy little crust which was disappointing. It was more like a one-adds crust pizza folded in half with no sauce and a pound of cheese. When I think of a calzones, I picture a huge crust not some flimsy cheese bread. Would not order again. It didn't taste bad--just not my style. read more

Had a cheat night and decided to spend it on a pizza from Nonna's. Got a meat pizza and was not disappointed. Fresh ingredients, good sauce and a nice crust. Pie was a bit on greasy side but not unusual for a good meat pizza. Pepperoni slices were huge and stood out with every bite. Pizza was ready in 20 minutes as promised. Good pizza, reasonably priced. Being from N'Haven and from a family that owned a pizzaria I'm spoiled by the tastiest pizza on the planet. When we moved to Southington, I was worried about getting a decent pie. Nonna's doesn't disappoint and giving 4 stars not based on the quality of the pizza, but on how good it is in relation to the rest of the pizza I have tried since moving. The delivery is fast and friendly. Ordering is a breeze. This is, if you read other reviews, 2nd tier New Haven pie... Consisting of greats like Zuppardi, Ernie's, Colony and the like... Ordered two pies and garlic bread for take out on a Tuesday night, as pandemic worries and a return to restrictions seem to be rising. Arrived a little ahead of the projected time and were assured that our food was almost ready and would be piping hot from the oven, which it was. The servers and kitchen staff were masked and the cute and cozy booths sitting empty made me wish we could be dining in. Alas, it will have to be another time. The pies were wonderful. I ordered two 16" pies to feed 3 hungry adults, but probably could and done well with two 14" pies. That is ok, leftovers like this will be consumed quickly. Wow! What a great find. Don't let the size of the restaurant fool you - the food and the service is top notch. Although, they only do have 4 tables for dine in, it appears that most of their business is take out and delivery. My husband and I ordered the Nonna Stixx and chopped salads for appetizers. Both were amazing and very unique! A lot of the times I easily get bored w/ a salad, but the finely chopped ingredients made this so tasty! The Nonna stixx were huge! I was not expecting that much (bonus: leftovers!) They were very flavorful. Although, they have a great variety of specialty pizzas, we kept it basic and ordered a small pepperoni pizza. Again, very flavorful and the crust was perfect. When they brought out our appetizers, they went above and beyond by asking things we might require, extra dressing, extra plates, cheese, type of cheese, etc. (it was the lady from the kitchen - maybe the owner?) It's the little things like that that I really appreciate they went the extra mile. We did want grated cheese - and one thing that I loved is when they look it out, they took it out from the refrigerator. Our waitress was just as sweet and joked around w/ us as well. We never had an empty glass, and she made sure we had everything we needed. You can tell she really enjoyed her job, which is always a good sign. This is my go-to pizza place since it's around the corner from me. I'm a Buffalo pizza gal, so CT pizza is totally different than what I'm used to but I still try to appreciate this style of pizza. Out of all the pizza places in the Southington area I have tried, this one takes the cake, or should I say pie. My favorite is sausage and hot cherry peppers and also their buffalo chicken finger is bomb. The dough gets bubbly and is cooked perfectly. It's a very thing pizza, so get a large because you will eat half of it yourself. Their salads are pricey and have changed recently which I'm not happy about, I liked the antipasto salad $16.34, and the chicken caesar $17.40, but for that price and for what you actually get, no way will I order any salad again, I think they need to re-evaluate their salad prices. read more
