I come here often to witness the open-mic comedy on Wednesday nights. It's the perfect place for first-time comedians or pro-comedians working out new material to network & practice sets. The location is tucked away but has ample parking, plenty of pool tables & a front room that has a dance floor and karaoke nights. The bathrooms are always spotless & the customer service is pretty good. The food is what brought the rating down from a 5. It is typical bar food, so it's not much to write home about. However, it's good enough to sop up the very fairly priced drinks. The amount of space in here is great for personal parties or a happy hour out with friends. It's has a few TVs to watch the game & the crowd is pretty mixed (young, old, black, white, everyone is here). I like this place. read more

Nottingham's is trying hard to be a sports bar. They're really making the effort with a bunch of televisions and specials for catching the game. I don't know if they'll get there, but they are certainly trying. The outside seating is great. Until someone decides that it's time for a smoke. We stopped here for lunch. It's in the middle of a corporate office park and even has a small slice of one of the office buildings. It's pretty far back and removed from the main roads. Do people even know it's here? Cuban Sandwich for me. It was good, with the right ingredients but not quite a Cuban. A nice effort, though. The others had either sandwiches or pizza and the pizza looked amazing. Huge pie, nicely plated and smelled great. I'd say, have the pizza. Food took a while, especially considering that it was a pretty slow lunch crowd in here. read more

On Friday I ended my second round of happy hour here. Didn't realize I've been here before after a reco from a friend. So I'll sum up both experience in one go and have a long review. Ok I'll "try" lol. First off if you dont know this place exist won't find it as its located in a business park. The interior is cool with sports bar/lounge vibes including TV's, pool table, patio seating, table seating, bar and I guess a small intimate area considered to be the dancefloor. Food that's served is bar food so don't expect Gordon Ramsey type dishes lol. Seeing both sides of this place my first Incounter was for a trivia night. Service was good and fast. The party that I was with enjoyed the drinks and the food. I ordered the buffalo chicken nachos which was really good. The nachos were crispy even after the toppings of cheese, buffalo chicken and peppers were on to give it an extra kick! I hate to reach the bottom of the pile and pick up soggy nachos. After the trivia was complete the music came on and it became a lounge type atmosphere. Played a view games of pool and being that it was cold out I believe they had heated lamps on the patio but not quite sure. I stayed inside. Second encounter was a Friday happy hour and at around 8:30 at night the place was litt!!! It seemed more of a club at this point being patted down by security and told of a 9pm no hat rule (I'll get to that). It was affluent with people from all types of cultural backgrounds and this is one reason why I LOVE Columbia because of its unbiased diversity. Anyways was super packed inside and out. Went to patio since it was crowded it was more manageable to move outside and I see rsvp tables. Lmao really for a sports bar??? Which seemed to be unoccupied and causing people to have to stand or play musical chairs by grabbing a chair from a person who left their seat unoccupied lol. When in Rome right? So guess what I did? I had several seats more like 2 lol. Ordered the frozen rum punch after the bartender didn't know what it was and had to confirm what drink was in the slushy machine. It was really crowded and the table service was really lacking. When the server did show up she took the orders of chicken wings and quesadillas along with drinks of water and alcoholic beverage. The drink came first but the food took at least 30 minutes even to the point we had to look for the server. Never came back to check on us or update our food arrival. Finally got the food which was ok nothing to wait 30 mins over but forgot the water. At this point it was a lost cause. It wasnt all bad as it turned into a lounge again more like a club at this point. Having an outside and inside dj playing a mix of throwback tunes ranging from top 40 I guess. It was tunes I haven't heard in a good long time which was dope. The place was rocking inside and out. My only gripe with this time frame was the bouncer/hat nazis that were super enforcing the rule but specifically for the dudes that had fitted hats on! The old school triple OG dudes that had on their Kangol type hats were ignored which kinda pissed me off being that I was outside and it was hot especially with liquor in the system. I would come back now knowing the expectations of this place simply for the kool environment it provides. Food and drinks are ok and mediocre service if crowded. Prices are affordable but it's a kool laid back environment with a mix of people and music you can't beat. read more

****PLEASE READ****I don't recommend this place at all. Far from picky when it comes to service because you never know what's going on. But when there are only one other table in the place it's kinda crazy how bad our service is. The amount of times we have had to send an order bad because it was incorrect and our server doesn't write anything down.... It's disrespectful and rude. Should've read the review 1st. If I could give a zero, I'd give this place a zero. This place stinks and looking at the reviews I don't think management cares either. Regardless, I went w/ co-workers last night for a quick bite and Happy Hour. It was the worst experience I've had in Columbia so far. Where should I start. First, the bartender had an attitude all night long. This same bartender will end up overcharging us later that night. $90 for 3 beers, 3 Jamesons and an order of 12 wings during Happy Hour. Are you serious ? Second, we were sitting at a table and the two waitresses never once came up to our table and this place was beyond way empty. They both just kept hanging out w/ their friends or the regulars. We were beginning to think that the place is racist, but I think it's worst, they were just incompetent, lazy and management just don't give a shit. We should have turned around at the door at this cheesy bar when the bouncer said I had to take my hat off. it's February and it was raining and I was wearing a winter hat. They told me I had to take it off and leave it in the front vestibule by the bouncer podium. are you kidding me? It's a nice hat and it kept my head warm. I wasn't about to leave it someplace so that somebody could steal it or that it could get stepped on. He wasn't even going to let me put it in my purse but finally gave in and said that if he saw me wearing it I would be asked to leave. Is this a problem? People wearing winter hats inside? once we finally found a table our server was very difficult to track down. She was waiting on all of the parties around us but we could not even get more than one round from her. We ended up getting all of our drinks at the bar. Her loss as we would've tipped her well. The worst part is this. All of our drinks came in plastic cups. PLASTIC CUPS!? The convenience of not having to wash too many glasses is worth all of the single use plastic that is destroying our earth? are they not current with the state of our environment? It started with me not being able to bring in a plastic wrapped gift basket because it had a bottle of wine in it, so I had to leave it in my hot car during our Happy Hour. Then the bartender had a terrible attitude when she told me she couldn't make me an old fashioned because she didn't have vermouth (you don't need vermouth for an old fashioned) she did not try to accommodate for me. This place is very well hidden. It's located inside of a business park. You will really have to search to find this location that's tucked away. Let's get down to business. I came here to eat and didn't really have any expectations. Well good thing I didn't because this is not a place I would recommend. I tried several things on their menu. Started with the sweet potato tots, pork slider taco (comes in 1s), pretzel bites, oysters (order in 6s..$2 each)...now that was just the appetizers to try and get a feel for the place. Well none of them had a WOW factor.... The sweet potato tots could have been crispier but were edible, pull pork slider was ok with a good amount of BBQ on it, the pretzel bites were so DRY..., the oysters were just oysters..so like I said nothing special. Now on the the entrees I ordered a lobster roll, the raspberry Belgium turkey sandwich and the crab cake sliders. I ordered all three of those with Cajun fries. The lobster roll I literally had to send it back because I took one bite and it was unsatisfactory. (The manager Sally came over and spoke with me regarding it but I honestly didn't like it and she apologized. She was really sweet and did inform me that the lobster was in fact real so she wasn't sure why it wasn't up to par. ) The crab cake sliders were pretty good. In my opinion if you remove the bun and just eat the crab cake, it's delicious. Now onto the raspberry Belgium turkey sandwich...when I read the description I was excited...but it wasn't really what I thought it would be. Like I said, everything was ok...nothing really had me craving more or left an impression. The martini was pretty good and refreshing. Oh and the dozen of crown royal Apple shots we took were also satisfying! I guess sometimes having no expectations can leave you from being truly disappointed. Come to Nottingham's Tavern if you want to see a bunch of unprofessional bouncers walking around intimidating the customers using aggressive body language. This bar would be a great place to meet after work for a couple of drinks with some appetizers. There are many TVs to watch sports and place is open and roomy. Happy hour starts at 11am. Went their for lunch with a few coworkers and we were the only peeps there. Food was good and not overpriced. A buddy of mine recommended this place so I thought I'd spend my lunch having a cold beverage and some wings. Upon entering the place I was greeted by a large room with sounds of pool balls being hit. Large bar to your right with a wall of windows to your left letting sunlight in. All in all a very pleasant atmosphere. Here's the thing though.....when I order wings I expect a certain level of quality. Now I have a "sweet spot" where there's a little wiggle room but these wings were nothing close to what I wanted. Take a rubber band and put it in your mouth. Now chew. Yup, that was my wings. Also the bartender was more focused on telling everyone every thought that popped into her head then focusing on the plate of half eaten wings with used napkins sitting in front of me.....for the last 20 minutes. Did I mention that there is a whole 7 people in the entire place. I can only imagine the service when this place is busy. Perhaps this spot is more suitable for late night crowd looking for shots and music. Loaded nachos barely had queso. The shrimp cocktail was ok, could not taste any alcohol in the fishbowl. Really good drinks, nachos, and pizza! I was pleasantly surprised with this place. It really is tucked away in the corner of an office complex so I didn't expect much but left very pleased! I highly recommend the blueberry squeeze and blueberry mojito. Both were delicious and definitely packed a punch; I didn't realize it until I got up!! Definitely try the Dublin nachos -- so good if you love tots!! We got the Margherita pizza and I was surprised with how much I enjoyed bar pizza! The crust was thin and crispy but also chewy in all the right ways, sauce was flavorful and the balsamic drizzle brought it all together really well! Regular tortilla Chip nachos are also really good; that queso is just lovely and the fresh jalapeños are such a nice touch!! We will certainly be back again to play some pool and air hockey (and for more nachos). read more

I've been going to this bar for many years now. I hadn't visited in awhile and yesterday, decided to meet up with some friends, most of whom had never been to this establishment. We met up around 6:30 and since the weather was gorgeous, we sat on the patio. We were able to partake in the happy hour specials (happy hour on a saturday? can't beat that). But unfortunately, it went downhill from here...One, our server was not very friendly and had an attitude with some of our party due to their lack of hastiness in making a decision about they wanted to order (not cool). After they ordered, she took away all the menus from the table. We had to ask her to bring them back (or at least one). Another friend joined our group and she had taken away the menus again...sigh. I wanted to place another order (just 6 wings), but it took about 30 minutes to arrive. I'm sure she forgot about it until one of our friends reminded her and her "excuse" was that it got busy due to other customers trying to place their orders in before happy hour ended! Um...whatever! Here's the kicker!! So I had been the only one in our party who opened a tab (everyone else paid as they ordered) which means my card was held at the bar. When it came to me closing out my tab, she took awhile to bring back my bill. I finally got the bill, but no card! um...lady, where's my card?? She goes "you don't have it? I brought all the cards back earlier. Can you all check to make sure you don't have it?" Lady! Are you being serious right now? I don't have my card and neither does anyone in my party! You lost my card (this is my check card mind you!) Not a credit card...my check card with my entire paycheck on it..I tried to remain calm while she went back inside to look for it. After seeing her frantically searching for it, she back to our table with no card and no real remorse for her irresponsibility. She only offered to personally pay for my bill ($20.00) and advised me to write down my phone number and name and she can call if she finds it the next day. Really? I really remained as calm as I can (maybe the alcohol I drank kept me somewhat mellow?) Anyway, she suggested I check the app on my phone to see if my card had been used...um, ok! I logged onto my online banking. No my card hasn't been used yet, but that did not mean someone walked off with it and planning to use it. She went inside and looked again. I asked to speak with her manager and she tells me "she will tell you the same thing I told you." Excuse you? How dare you? You've always screwed up and you have the nerve to say that to me in my distress??! I can't.... The manager finally comes out and offers somewhat of an apology saying that it's easy for these things to happen (yes, losing someone's card at their establishment). I'm appalled!! She said they would comp my bill (which I was already told and obviously they would to do since I don't have a card to pay it!!) and then a $50 gift card to come back. To give me the gift card took at least another 20 minutes! I just can't believe this really happened. I explained to her that it's a weekend. My bank won't be open until Monday morning - I have no access to my funds until then. What will happen when I need to get gas or buy food? She tells me "the people you're with can cover you?!" Really though?? No I need my card back! I immediately cancelled my card but now I'm without access to my money due to their irresponsibility and lack of concern for the severity of this issue! Came to this spot twice previously with my wife and friends on what they call "Stimulus" days. Really good bang for your buck as on Weds. and Thurs. most of their menu is half off during Happy Hour and they have a really decent craft beer list. I rarely get mixed drinks out as I have a full bar and can make better at home. My wife was off this day so she wanted to go to Nottingham's. This particular day was a Tuesday so the Happy Hour was in full effect but not so for the food. When we arrived the waitress seemed distant and spacey, not very helpful. She immediately asked us for a credit card which had not happened on our past visits here. I obliged and when I questioned her she said it was a "new policy". The food was good and for under $45 for two meal sized apps and 4 drinks we will return. A star is deducted for the service as the whole ordeal was really strange. The server had a disinterested look on her face as she brought my beer already pre-opened. I asked for the craft beer list which was never brought. My nephew took me here last night as I was trying to ride out rush hour traffic as I was driving up from Dulles airport to York, PA. I was surprised when I saw that it hadn't ranked well by past Yelpers. I had a good time. The servers were friendly, the $5 martinis outstanding, and the $5 appetizers worthwhile. Nice clean environment, fun but not too loud and crazy... just a solid venue. If I lived closer, I could see myself hanging out here a bit. read more

Went there with my 7 year old kid to play pool on a sunday afternoon and were told that we had to pay $10/person to get in because a band was playing. (Seriously who charges full cover for a kid??) We came to this bar because my girlfriends friend said to give it a try. The place was very clean and the tables were socially distanced. We came on a Monday night around 9:30. They checked our IDs at the door and then we got to sit wherever we wanted. The server Julie came out and was super friendly. She came and checked on quite a bit which was nice. The crab dip came out hot and was really good. We had old bay wings and the dips were .50 cents each. The drinks were good as well; I had a simple vodka tonic and my girlfriend a beer. Down with the Broncos. Ray Lewis plays another day! That was the sole reason why I would ever have considered stepping foot into Nottingham's Tavern. This place has a good selection of drinks, but mediocre happy hour selections. Football day happy hour drinks consist of $3 bloody mary's and mimosas. I'm not a fan of either, so I thought that was very limiting. Specials on other days seemed a bit better. However, food and bites are underwhelming, both on the happy hour menu and the regular menu. The usual suspects are pizza, wings, queso, and tacos, and even for bars/pubs, these were very below average. The best part about football days are that the big screen and projector are set up and there is a good amount of seating. Service isn't bad either. Though, I don't think I'd ever come to Nottingham's for anything other than football. read more

Got here at 7:50pm, the show didn't start til 8:30pm. So we wanted to grab something to eat before the show started. We ordered the honey old bay wings which had too much honey and no old bay. The extra spicy wings wasn't spicy at all. The loaded tator tots was so so. They didn't seat us in the back where the show was, until 8:45. It's 9:15 and we're still waiting. Mind you it's only me and my wife in here. Show didn't start til 9:30. I really felt bad for the comedians because it was dead quiet in there. Most of the audience was the other comedians waiting to perform. I'll say maybe 4 other ppl showed up. Long story short go somewhere else. Don't waste your time here. Me and my spouse went to this bar yesterday evening to have drinks and food after the football game. The website as well as Google is advertising your business to close at 2am. At 12:15am we started to be bullied by the security/doorman Antonio. He was sitting behind us at the bar doing a count down to finished our drinks & food. I am very confused on why he left the front door and came near the bar to harass and bully us. First, he turned the sound off on all the TVs. I asked if music can be put on. He said NO, we are closing. At this point we have already order our drinks and food which we did not even receive yet. When we arrived at about 11:45pm we were not advised the restaurant would be closing early. The bartender was not in a rush she was wonderful, she even states " I have a lot of cleaning to do idk why they are acting this way". However the security disregarded her telling us we were fine and told her to give us a box, turned off all TVs off and proceeded to say we are closed. I asked if we could finish our drinks and food he said you have 5 mins to eat. We had to finish our drinks in a matter of minutes and box up our food. I am very upset with how we were treated.
