This is the quintessential local bar. Nestled in historical Laurel, some friends and I were looking for a spot to meet in the middle and we found this place. It's super easy to miss and I definitely drove by it once or twice. Once you enter it's super cozy and I really wish it was closer to my house. The service was great, our waiter super friendly, and there's really good food selection. It was all freshly made (came out piping hot) and so delicious! I had the steak and cheese wrap and the crispiest tater tots. Other folks got the chicken tenders with shoestring fries, and a burger. We were all quite pleased. I was in there and saw the own lose his temper and mind at a table that their 4 year old son had made a mess. His mom was cleaning up after him. The owner was yelling at the mom that she should be embarrassed for mess. It was crumbs from chicken tenders from what I saw. The owner was cussing he took the broom and swept it into the pan and then dumped in front of the child and then told them to get out of his place. I saw the family and found out by talking to them the child had autism. The family even tipped the waitress 30.00. My heart breaks for them. I will not be going back. Autistic children have a hard enough in life they don't deserve this. The owner should be ashamed of his self. If I could give a zero I would. read more

This is a great neighborhood spot! It has a parking lot behind it or there is plenty of street parking after hours. The service was great and our waiter was very nice. The prices are good for what you get and I thought the food was pretty decent. It's easy to miss outside because there isn't a big sign but it's a great place! read more

Used to spend a fair amount of time at Oliver's years ago but moved out of the area. Recently returned and it is everything I remember. Most important, an incredibly low-key neighborhood bar. Hardest working and most fun bar staff, decent food and drinks, lots of sports in the tvs. Everyone is friendly and chill. Literally what more could you ask for. read more

Delish food. Amazing service. I use to live down the street from bar / restaurant. I never thought to come here until now I'm 34 yrs old after I moved out of Laurel. Best kept secret of Laurel. Looks like a dive bar from outside. But it's nice and cozy inside. Everyone is your server it seems. They constantly all ask if you need anything. Everyone is so friendly. Forgot about this chill spot! I came once awhile ago! Was looking for a place nearby for happy hour a few days ago. The first place my friend and I went to was closed. We drove down the street and the other place we tried to go was so packed we left and came here. It wasn't overly packed so that worked. We got prompt service. They had happy hour specials until 7 p.m. I think our server's name was Amanda - she was great! Shoutout to our local community heroes! Pam and Amanda are a great tag team! Great personalities, neighborhood atmosphere, and comfort food! The specials are yummy as well! I had the shrimp Alfredo pasta!! Yummmm! I'm picky about my pasta and I was really impressed with the taste! Creamy, flavors balanced, and pasta was perfect!!! Whatever I expected, this venue exceeded my expectations!! Wow! Creamy, savory Alfredo! Hubby had the ribeye steak that was good enough to satisfy this carnivore!! I went to this bar the first time when it was called Main Street with a friend. I had drinks and we ordered food. I believe we had nachos and tater tots. My tater tots were nothing to write home about but its a bar so I didnt expect much. There was a band playing in the back however not memorable. I think the highlight of our night was being picked up by 2 guys. LOL. We politely declined. I gave Main Street a 2.5 that night and totally forgot about the place. Fast forward. The bar is now called Oliver's and I bookmarked it awhile back. New bar likely means change in my mind! The same friend and I went to dinner last night and we checked out Oliver's afterwards. Lots of renovations. The bar has a more open floor plan now. The band was playing in the front and sounded great as we walked in. The place was PACKED! Ladies were up dancing. We found a seat at the end of the bar by the service area. Mark, my bartender was great! Cheap tall glass drinks and no skimping on the booze!! Lots of food coming out from the kitchen and it looked like an upgrade from last time. Cant wait to try the food next time. If Im in the area again, this is the bar I will frequent. Okay I've tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt, as it's a local bar in my neighborhood. Food wise, I've only had the wings, which are decent. I mean you really can't go wrong with wings unless they're just awful. However, the cleanliness, or the lack thereof, of the bartenders is just disturbing. But the more disturbing thing is this isn't even unique to this bar. Younger bartenders just don't get you can't be digging in you ear, digging in your eye, assembling trash, rubbing your skin, smoking your electronic cig, and playing on your phone all while washing bar glasses, putting lemons and limes on the rims of glasses, and touching straws from which people will sip. I saw the bartender do something really really sketchy--put his hand around the rim of a glass to help the foam dissolve more quickly after doing all these things. I defaulted to a beer I knew that was bottle only afterwards. This is just nasty folks. You can't work in food or drink preparation and not keep your hands clean. And other people sitting at the bar see this stuff and are fine with it. Disturbing. I haven't seen the chef do anything sketchy, but it certainly makes one wonder! I definitely won't be going back here. I've given this place a couple times to improve, but I've seen several of their bartenders do this stuff, and the owner was right there witnessing it. This is my absolute favorite neighborhood bar, and I don't even live in the neighborhood! I go out of my way to make my way over here when I want a more laid-back drinking excursion, and this place has everything I'm looking for. Fun little trivia games, plenty of bar space, fantastic bartenders, plenty of TV's for sports-viewing, nice live music, and a friendly crowd. My drinks are always phenomenal, and prices are very reasonable. I feel really safe in the general area, and there's a nice little outside portion if you want to step out for some fresh air, or to smoke if you need to. I LOVE this place! read more

There are about 20 televisions to watch the event of your choice! They have art on the walls, along with jerseys, plaques for awards, and Laurel memorabilia. The valences have ironed-on sports team logos. In the back of the establishment there are four dart charts to engage in Darts with friends...or strangers. They have booths, high tables for groups and several windows overlooking main street or the lot behind the building. The music has a fine volume...sometimes you can go to a place and the music is too loud and you can't talk to your friends...or so low you can't hear it. They've got the balance right. The staff is fairly friendly. The prices are average for a bar. I'm not ordering much today... i have an order of the tater tots. My waitress Becky suggested the in-house made hot sauce and chunky bleu cheese sauce for my tots. Im excited!!!! I will come back though and hopefully get in a game of Darts. Upon entering this place it smelled like cat pee. After a while I got used to it and figured that the smell was prob because this place is old. However, I cannot complain about the prices for happy hour. Good deals. Didnt get to try the food. And parking in the area is not all that great unless you get lucky. Not a bad spot for a beer and some food. The place is crowded several days of the week and on the weekend. Not sure why the 2 star rating from someone who didn't even go in or have any of the food, "elite" though? Nachos are good, beer is cold and they serve some local brews. Games are on if you are looking for a place to watch some football. See a lot of local firefighters that frequent this spot. Interior is remodeled and very clean. Overall I give it 3 stars. 3/8/2017 - Came with a friend after dinner. As soon as you walk in, you kind of feel like an outsider. The regulars all stare at you...it could be intimidating if you're put off by that sort of thing. It definitely has a "Cheers"--where everybody knows your name feel to it. Although it was a bit uncomfortable, the bartender, Pam and another lady (I'm sorry...can't remember her name), were welcoming and kind. They have a great selection of beers and craft brews. Wanted to try Not Your Mom's and they have 3 or 4 different varieties. All the food coming out of the kitchen looked delish and three tots were tasty. Good prices overall. This place has recently been remodeled and is nicer inside than I expected. The wait staff was friendly and prompt. This is a better place to have a beer than to eat dinner. The beer was served cold. The food was poor even by bar food standards. I had the Reuben Sandwich and it was fried in oil and inedible the beer battered onion rings (according to the menu) were not beer battered but the kind that comes frozen from a factory and then hard fried in oil. My wife ordered the onion soup and potato skins. They were both well below average and the potato skins again seemed like something that arrived at the restaurant frozen and then merely heated up. Its too bad the food is so poor because it seems like it could have been a nice neighborhood place. read more

This is definitely a bar that has a set of regular patrons.... Every time I come in, I see the same people. Friendly crowd, great bartenders, fun to be able to play darts. The only time (obviously) you can't play is when the dart league is going on. Food is good (some better than others of course, just depends on what you get) My dad and boyfriend love the chili, mom loves the fried green beans. I love the grilled cheese sandwich. It's bar food, so don't expect a 5-star restaurant, but it's solid. Mixed drinks are on point... they make great margaritas, long islands, etc. I usually don't get been on tap. They've done a lot to update the place since it became Olivers (furniture, etc). They also have live bands/singers and music. Just a great down home townie bar. read more
