I am incredibly frustrated with this facility. I visited a year ago, and at the time of my appointment, I paid my required insurance copay. The staff explicitly confirmed that my insurance was accepted and that everything was covered. Now, an entire year later, I suddenly receive a bill claiming that my insurance didn't cover the visit. It is completely unacceptable to surprise patients with bills a year after the fact--especially when your staff confirms coverage at checkout. This feels incredibly disorganized at best and predatory at worst. Save yourself the financial headache and go somewhere that actually has their billing department figured out. Very disappointed with the administrative and customer service experience at NOVA. I recently waited over 30 minutes past my scheduled appointment time to be seen. There was no administrative staff present, and the NP appeared to be doing everything on her own while being triple booked. The entire experience felt extremely disorganized and unprofessional. I have also called multiple times this week to cancel an appointment and left several voicemails with no response. During one call, the representative hung up on me and acted as if they could not understand me, which was very frustrating. In addition, I am dealing with a serious billing error. My insurance was billed under BCBS-VA even though my coverage is through Blue Benefits Massachusetts and must be billed under BCBS-MD. The correct information, including the front and back of my insurance card, was provided at intake. As a result, I received a $200 bill stating the claim was denied due to improper submission. This is now the second administrative issue I have experienced with this practice. Access to healthcare is too important for repeated errors and poor communication. I hope the office corrects the claim and improves its administrative processes moving forward. read more

Fine people, but their weight loss plans are not sustainable for long term health. My first appointment they tried to put me on a deficit of 1000cals (i'm a 5'8" female so that's dangerously low), I convinced them to do 1200cals instead with very strict macros. They're quick to push meds when I said I wasn't interested in them yet. I'm going to get a second opinion. read more

Everyone here is helpful and friendly. On paper the calorie amount seems low but they don't push you to count calories, just protein and avoid processed carbohydrates. At least for my meal plan, which I am following with success. read more

I was excited to try this, but after I left my first appointment I had a bad feeling of this place. They are quick to prescribe weight loss shots if you want that. When I said I had not heard good things and I don't like shots the Dr did not provide any other options. No one asked about me adding more fitness into my day. They prescribed a low 1100 calorie diet, which to me is not sustainable long-term. I liked they prescribed labs and did a BMI evaluation, but they prescribed Wegovy before even checking my labs. The dietitian gave a food list which I liked, but never asked if I work out or how to adjust my meal plan on a heavier day of fitness. Felt just like a center to push weight loss shots. read more

Very bad miscommunication in this office and the staff in the front are not very nice. They would not give me the name of the boss which should be allowed. Also they don't communicate the in body treatment in the first appointment that it is not covered by insurance in the second. Will not be going to this place again. read more

This review is in response to what just occurred during my first (and last) visit to Dr. Suri and NOVA Physician Wellness Center. I wrote in my chart that I had experienced a stillbirth. Not only did I write it in the chart I stated it TWICE during the beginning of our appointment while explaining my PTSD/ depression diagnosis AND inconsistencies in my daily habits, since experiencing said stillbirth. Dr. Suri then asked me HOW OLD MY BABY WAS to which I said, "I've already told you I experienced a stillbirth" - he gave a quick "sorry" then proceeds to ask "when I needed to terminate". Not only did he prove incompetence in not reading the chart of a new patient he also proved incompetence in using the word "terminate" -as this does not apply to all situations like this. The lack of bedside manner and empathy in using this terminology to a MOTHER WHOSE BABY DIED is unacceptable. I guess he could sense my uncomfortableness and asked if I was okay to which I replied no, and I walked out immediately as that was the safest and best option for me after what had just occurred. I came to Dr. Suri, after finally feeling strong enough, to find guidance in getting life back on track after the death of my daughter NOT to be retraumatized by a medical provider who apparently doesn't know how to read a patient's health history. While he goes on with his day, most likely NOT reading other patient charts, my day(s) and mental health will be greatly impacted by his carelessness. Those who are familiar with this sort of trauma understand the great harm this doctor has now caused. I would never advise anybody that has experienced trauma in any form to be under the care of Dr. Rohit Suri. read more

I would give zero stars if that was an option. So many negatives about this place. They solicit you to provide your protected health information electronically before your visit, only to not have it when you arrive. The big scam is, they will bill your insurance for wellness and nutrition counseling, even if your insurance company will not approve the medication. My insurance was billed over $400. They are terrible about following up about your request for simple information, such as, does my insurance cover the medication? BEWARE AND STAY AWAY, or you could be fooled. read more

DO NOT GO. BEWARE. I have PCOS and was referred by my endocrinologist as she expressed that they would help me get approval for a GLP-1 as this is a good course of treatment for PCOS. You rarely get to see the same doctor/dietician. I tried messaging my doctor about my GLP-1 getting denied and the process of appealing, never got a response. I stopped following up because me driving in traffic to be told I just need to eat less was frustrating. When they promoted that they had compound semaglutide, I decided to try and give them a 3rd chance. I got prescribed the first dose, but was told it was out of stock and they would put me on a waitlist. Got a call the next day to pick up. Went back for my follow up, they told me I can come back for the medication later in the day or tomorrow. I cannot drop everything to keep going back and forth to pick up this med, plus having to follow up every 3 weeks anyway. So pretty much feel like im driving there 3x a month. THIS IS WHERE IT GETS BAD. the amount of calories they encourage you to eat is TOO LOW. Even though I lost 3lbs of fat since my last appointment, I was asked "how do you think you are going to lose weight when you eat that much" after I told them how much I eat. They are prescribing me a meal plan for a toddler which can lead to even worse health complications. If i was able to get the medication else where, I would not be coming here at all. It almost doesnt even feel worth treating my PCOS when im being talked down to. read more

I started by leaving several messages to call me to set up an appointment and no one called me back. I registered online and set up an appointment and someone emailed me back finally. She told me that everything was covered by insurance and that isn't true. They charge $6.00 every time you weigh in so you can use their special scale which requires you to remove your shoes and socks which I didn't think was sanitary with everyone stepping on it if they had a foot disease. She didn't wipe it down either. I thought it was funny that they were all wearing masks, but were having people stand on this scale with possible germs. Also, they charge $25.00 per visit that isn't covered by insurance. Plus they want you to sign a document that says you will pay these charges. I also emailed them regarding my medical condition: I have a heart condition and I'm on several medications and asked her if I should be seeing a doctor instead of a NP. She told me no that it wasn't necessary that the NP knew about medications as well. That isn't true either. When I met with her she knew nothing about medications interacting with each other. I'm aware that most diet medications increase your heart rate. She had to google it when I was there and said "yes" that their diet prescriptions do increase your heart rate. I'm also on a medication that is causing me to gain weight as well and she didn't know how to handle that issue either. When I asked to speak to the dietitian she said I couldn't because I didn't remove my socks. Needless to say, it was a complete waste of my time. Most of the staff was very young and did not have a weight problem. I don't think they really understand medications or the struggle to losing weight. I just want to make people with medical issues and are on medications that the staff doesn't know anything about these issues. My best advice, if you are still interested, is to request to see the doctor not a NP. I had requested to see a doctor but was told I would have to wait 3 weeks to get an appointment with a doctor and that their NP's were just as knowledgeable. Wrong !!! read more

I lost weight and the docs and nurses are excellent. HOWEVER, the billing office is horrible. Almost a year later, they are still trying to collect payments that have already been made. I don't know if it's a scam or if they are actually this incompetent, but their thing seems to be to double bill patients. I'm pretty sure I double paid a few before catching on. You can get Ozempic anywhere these days, so go some place else if you don't want to spend hours searching your credit card statements for proof of payment, only to be billed again and again. Friends who went to NPWC have the same story, so it's not just me. Be forewarned. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! I have had a long weight loss journey and was excited when I first met with Dr. Chaudhary. However my first appointment was 1 hour and 20 minutes later than scheduled (and I missed an important work meeting). However, I was excited to get on this journey and rolled with the delay, the entire appointment took over two hours! Fast forward to my approval to be on Ozempic and I was looking forward to my 2 week follow up and weigh in (feeling great btw!). Unfortunately, I took the wrong exit off of the I-66 Express lane and ended up in a traffic jam causing a delay in my arrival. My scheduled time was 915am and I arrived at 935am (20 min late). And while I recognized my delay and understand they have "policies", I cannot continue working with a practice that doesn't practice timely visits themselves yet have the expectation on patients that 20 min requires a re-schedule (not to mention I paid almost $25 in tolls to get there). Also, my husband was using this practice and also had a negative experience with scheduling, they are trying to fit in too many patients and aren't invested in each patient's journey. Bottom line, I would caution anyone with this practice as they don't care about the schedules of their clients and will literally pass you over and waste your time as long as they can charge a late/cancellation fee. I believe the other reviewers assessments are correct. Find another practice. read more

I am very disappointed with this facility. My daughter was prescribed weight loss medication that was not covered by our insurance. At the appointment I was told that if insurance did not cover the medication, the nutritionist would appeal. This did not happened. I called repeatedly and was told that the case was appealed. However, when i spoke to my insurance company, I was told the appeal was never submitted. I had a coupon from the pharmaceutical company for the medication and I was told I needed prior authorization in order to use it. I called the office again and was first told I didn't need authorization to use the coupon (which I did) and then I was promised this matter would be looked at and I would receive a call later that day. i still have yet to be contacted. Also, I was told my daughter's prescription would be called into our local pharmacy. When I went to pick it up there was no prescription. The pharmacy said it was never called in. We have been trying to get this medication since March. It is now July and we sti don't have the medication! read more

It was ok, charged over $700 for the initial visit. There was no exercise plan, and the caloric daily intake plan of 900 calories a day was extreme. I felt hungry and crabby all of the time and started getting cold like symptoms. The staff was nice but it was hard to get any follow up help, I don't plan on going back at this point. read more

The staff is very nice and that's all fine and well but trying to get a response from them after your gone is impossible. I had a prescription I needed help getting and I left 4 messages with them and talked with someone twice for a callback and help to no avail. I did my part but they didn't do theirs, therefore making me think they just don't care which makes me suggest to anyone thinking of going here to advise finding somewhere else to give your money to. I have been going to this center since the end of April and feeling great!!! I started with the Ideal Protein at the end of January and managed to lose 20 lbs. I wasn't satisfied though since I was unable to do much physical activity, felt lethargic, and felt constrained by the costs and rigid foods I had to purchase there. My doctor offered an alternative, Nova Physician Wellness, and I had to give it a try. It was a perfect fit! Dr. Rohit and staff are so sweet and knowledgeable. I never feel judged even when I slip on my diet. I have managed to lose 20 more lbs since April and managed to keep it off despite less than ideal cheating on the diet on my part. I love asking lots of questions to Dr. Rohit and the sweetest nutritionist in the world, Melissa. Yes, there's always a wait, but that is my experience with every doctor's office so I don't feel that is too unreasonable. I have had more energy and look better than I have ever looked in my life. My weight loss has inspired my whole office to reevaluate weight loss. Thanks so much, Dr. Rohit and Melissa for giving me a whole new lease on life. Dr. Suri, Melissa and the office staff have done wonders for me. I started with them in mid-October of 2016 and, in 5 months, lost 58 pounds. Considering I'm in my mid-50s, that surprised me. I had assumed it would be a long, slow slog! I like that they don't try and sell you a line of diet food - though they do have some things you can buy. They suggest foods from the major food groups that you can get in your local grocery store. I am also really impressed by how they work with your likes/dislikes and lifestyle to come up with a diet that you can manage. Whether you're vegan, vegetarian, hate to cook (that would be me), whatever. They will help you. Everyone there is so friendly and easy to talk to as well. I have always felt that I could call or email for support or with questions and they would be happy to help. The Biospace InBody 520 machine they use (it analyzes your body mass/composition) is pretty impressive and is a useful tool to help you adjust your diet and exercise as needed. I have also been pleased that they accept my insurance. The kind of support you receive at this office would be expensive in any other environment. I still have some weight to lose. But I'm confident, with their help, I'll get there. Safely and, in the end, feeling great! As a matter of fact, I already feel SO much better. Some obesity related issues have gone away and I have been able to stop some medications. I can't say enough good things about them. If you need a little guidance and/or accountability with regard to your weight loss goals, then I highly recommend NOVA Physician Wellness Center. GO! read more

I wish there were negative stars to give. I also wish I would have read the negative comments on this practice before wasting my time. I agree with the other reviews, this practice and the doctors only care about money! I have never met a more irresponsible and unethical person as Dr. Chaudhry! I have spent the last two months calling and leaving messages on a daily basis, begging for someone to help me. Even when someone from the office called me back, they acted like they had no idea what my issue was. There were no notes captured on my file. I would have left this practice at the very beginning if they weren't the only doctors I could find to help my son. The issue was simple, the insurance denied our claim for the medicine prescribed because Dr. Chaudhry had originally prescribed it in the summer. My son was only on it for two weeks and then got off of it because it made him feel sick. When we went back to the dr in December, she was supposed to prescribe 1 months worth of medicine, but only prescribed 1 weeks worth. When we tried to get more there was back and forth between the office and the pharmacy. Eventually the insurance denied the medication because they thought my son was on it for 12 weeks and showed no progress. All the office needed to do was file an appeal. I called the office several times and they told me they were not going to file the appeal because they thought it would get denied again. I told them to please try anyways since that's what the insurance told me to do. They never did it. Since I couldn't get through to the office staff, I made another appt., paid my copay (I'm sure they billed that visit to the insurance as well). We met with a P.A. that told is we should use a cash only pharmacy in Canada to get the medicine. Are you serious? Again, we tried to work with the office for weeks with no luck. Today we made an appointment with Dr. Chaudhry. She first told us that her office sent two appeals and they were denied. I told her great, can you give me copies of those appeals so I can go to the insurance and figure out what's going on. She then said no, i can't give that to you because "maybe we didn't send them"? Huh? Which one is it? I asked her several times what I should do and she said that I only have my one child to worry about and she has over 300 patients to worry about. I asked her again so what should I do and she said she couldn't help me and told me to leave her office. She refused to give me any notes from our charts. Again, this practice is most likely getting kick backs from these cash only pharmacies in Canada. So unethical. I'm trying to figure out a way to report her to the medical board. Please do not go to this practice. Save yourself from the frustration of this immoral practice! read more

Dr. Seema Chaudhary is continually late to appointments. If you are a working professional be sure to block a lot of time out for the appointment because they are repeatedly not considerate of their patients schedules. The nutritionist showed up 30 minutes late and never even apologized. Recommend that if they are running late in the future to give patients a heads up in advance of the appointment instead of keeping them waiting for that long. When the receptionist called me later that day to reschedule based on Dr. Chaudhary saying to rebook me for the next day the receptionist noticed that Dr. Chaudhary forgot she wasn't working the next day. Dr. Chaudhary is not organized or considerate of her patients. read more

Dr. Suri could care less about who you are and is just trying to get you in and out as fast as possible - oh because it is double booked. I was told one time I could not see the nutritionist because they didn't have time. They also failed to call in my prescription after they canceled 30 minutes before my appointment. I ate less than 1000 calories a day and exercised. They prescribe Phentermine, take your vitals and your money. They try to sell you Protein bars and supplements at above retail prices. It is a sham. I have been seeing Dr. Suri and team since May of 2016. When I went in there I was obviously concerned with my weight and topped the scales at 240 lbs - not my heaviest (I'm embarrassed to admit) but certainly more than I should weigh considering I'm about 5'11". My BMI and PBF (Body Fat Percentage) were well over 35% which is just poor. The team that greets you is always friendly and wonderful to chat with. Over the last nine months I have come to look forward to seeing them again. Melissa and Dr. Suri have been nothing short of fantastic to work with. I am not a person that takes "shakes" well, so Melissa adapted the program to include more bars and direction on how to limit my caloric intake to the appropriate level for weight loss. As a MD, Dr. Suri has been diligent in monitoring the effects of the weight loss, blood pressure, etc. and now mine is in a healthy range (without medication). The team also helped me set interim goals and encouraged me to do so. The first was to lose 20 lbs by a summer cruise with my family; next was to be able to fit into my High School Uniform by Halloween. Lastly, my goal was to get my PBF down to 15%. While I am still trying to get the last one (now at 16%) the others were achieved. While certainly the majority of the credit goes to the team, they are not miracle workers. You need to have the commitment required to follow the plan and exercise. While I know I have been exercising more than the average person does, the awareness created by the entire team was critical to this result. At least four other people have seen my success and have also gone to see Dr. Suri. I am now down to about 185 lbs. and looking forward to the maintenance phase and efforts to develop muscle mass while maintaining weight. I highly recommend this group to assist you in managing your weight. It doesn't have to be a "ton" to benefit from this service - and yes, my insurance covers everything but the copay. read more

The Nova Physician Wellness Center changed my life! When I started coming a year ago, I was very overweight, always tired, had problems moving well, and was on 2 blood pressure medicine and 1 cholesterol medicine. Now, I am approximately 60 lbs lighter, and take only one of those medicines (and just half of the dose that I was taking last year!). My joints are much better, I am happier, can move easily, sleep better, feel and look years younger and am in the best health of my adult life! I never could have done it without the care, encouragement and assistance of Dr. Chaudhary and her staff. Every single person I have encountered - the physicians, nurse practitioners, nutritionists and office staff - are all professional, upbeat, friendly, and encouraging. The best thing about this experience is that I did it with a life-style change - no weight loss or appetite suppressant medications! And, no one pushes food on you either - though I did include some of the delicious chips and bars into my diet. I learned how to eat correctly for me - and how to live a healthy life. I hope that everyone who wants to lose weight and get on the path to wellness will start a personalized program with this office - you will thank yourself everyday for making that decision! read more

Dr. Suri and his staff are outstanding! When I first went in October 2015 and they asked me to step on the scale I was very uncomfortable doing this in front of them however they have been nothing but supportive and kind. I have lost almost 65 pounds and have 40 to go and I have no doubt that I will accomplish this goal thanks to these wonderful people! There is no high pressure sales person trying to get you to buy their meal replacement bars/shakes but I highly recommend giving them a try because they are quite tasty. There are no forced vitamin shots or any crazy protocols. The gals at the front desk always try to get you checked in quickly and there is not usually a wait to see Dr. Suri or Melissa who provides menu planning and strategies for keeping on track. The best part is that my insurance covers the office visits and my flexible spending covers the supplements. The day I walked into that office was a life changing day. If you are seriously ready to commit to losing weight give them a call. You wil not regret it! read more

The dietician on staff who actually goes over and explains the diet to you and gives you a meal plan is very good at her job (I forget her name) and is a true professional. The rest of the staff are ditzy. Dr. Suri also gets angry when you ask him questions and he actually raises his voice, which is unprofessional. He comes across as impatient with patients who wants things to be explained to them properly. read more

Their encouragement has kept me going, even during the slow months when the scale wasn't moving as fast as I would have liked. They work with you to set up a diet you like and can continue. Last year I started going to this place on the recommendation of a co-worker. I am very happy I visited. They have this scale that is a beast.It measures your body composition from the shoulders down very impressive. It measures things like weight of course, lean body mass, body fat mass. Body water balance,obiesity analysis, segmental lean analysis, arms trunk legs.I was at 252 on my first visit a year later now I am at 205lbs. My goal is under 200. Give them a chance. The Dr.Suri will talk to you over the phone If you are shy. They take my insurance a big plus. Everyone there is very friendly. I never felt judged. Give them a shot. The food they sell tastes good. I really recommend the cinnamon bars. They also have breakfast food and dinner food and snacks. read more
