Where best to park for 12:30 lunch?

There is a small lot on the East side of the restaurant on a one way street. There is very little street parking, but at lunch time you can get lucky.

Wondering if NOVARA 'dresses up' the restaurant for the Christmas holidays? Looking to dine out with some friends at a fun and festively decorated restaurant on the South Shore this December. Could this be the place?

Yes! They do, it's very beautiful at night and they present an Intimate vibe with low lighting and candle accents.

How noisy is it? So many tables....

Depending on the day (weekends I'm sure are busy), it's fairly okay in terms of volume. I think they do play music in there as well.

Then for a starter we got the risotto balls with had such great flavor, as well as coming out super fresh. We then went with the cheese pizza, drizzled with some sort of pesto and it was so good, the bottom has great undercarriage with no flop - so crispy! We opted out of dessert because we were too full but they still brought us these gingerbread tasting cookies - nice way to finish! Will most definitely be back soon.

Very cute place with a nice, small outdoor seating area. Our server/host was absolutely wonderful…read more He was so friendly and so accommodating! We ordered corn beef hash and Savory Crostata. My boyfriend loved his corn beef hash- looks small but very filling, rich and flavorful but wish it had more eggs. I didn't love the crostata. I heavily appreciated that the "greens" actually had other vegetables added to them to make it interesting and the potatoes were too crispy for me but that's personal preference. The crostata was good size and I loved the crust, I was just disappointed that it advertised goat cheese and I couldn't taste any. After eating we went inside to look at their pastry selection and they are absolutely beautiful!! We got the cream puff (gigantic and delicious), Nutella croissant (10/10 should get), and the butter cookie which was delicious but wish it was denser. The service truly blew me away and for that we Weill definitely be back to try more things.

Another 10/10 visit to Tonino in the books!…read more It's such a hard reservation to get, but so worth it. I'm actually getting salivating while posting this review and looking back at my food pictures. I get the Eggplant & Ricotta Pizza as my appetizer and the Rigatoni Amatriciana as my entree each time I go - because they're consistently amazing. The service is always warm and friendly, and I also love the music playlist they play. Believe the hype & come to Tonino!!

However, I don't know that it lived up to the hype that I anticipated. We got the pizza Bianca with ricotta with hot honey, which was basically just like plain toasted focaccia and ricotta (wasn't anything to write home about). The taleggio was 100% our least favorite and we didn't even finish half. We had asked the waiter to describe taste profile, which they said was a "little funky" and had asked for clarification if it was closer to blue cheese. Once it arrived, it was like a verrrrrry strong/stinky Brie on the inside. The balsamic didn't really contribute to the taste at all. Sad that we didn't like this/kinda made me feel yucky after eating. The cavatelli was very good- nice light creamy sauce with the sausage and bitter broccolini. Very well balanced. Forgot to take a pic of the tiramisu but it was good, too! It's kinda salty (they add sea salt to the top). Drink menu was limited. Had two different glasses of red wine but wish they had something more full bodied on the menu!

Cocktails were amazing! I didn't photograph it all due to being so hungry, I forgot! The lemon drop martini is exceptional and none of that silly sugarcoated rim. Naturally delicious with a lemon slice. Meatballs were sensational (no photo). Get them!!! It wasn't crowded at 5, but wait an hour and the place fills up. Make a rez!

There is no reason to make a table wait 10 to 15 minutes to get their drinks when the bar is 50 feet from the table and we can clearly see there are 3-4 people behind the bar not doing anything. The food is not made upon ordering. I tried to order the penne vodka without the bacon in the sauce. I was told that "that's the way it comes." So it was pretty clear that the cook is not making any sauce when you order it. (This isn't a red sauce that takes hours.) The pasta is from a box so the prices that they charge for it are not justified. Overly loud Spanish love ballad music was playing at 5 PM in this nearly empty restaurant. Between that and the gigantic white feather decorations just over my partner's head I would say the vibes were off. My partner had seen this restaurant while walking around and thought it could be a good place to try out. He was pretty upset that the restaurant was so meh and that he took me there for my birthday. Bad music. Bad decor. Bad service. Mediocre food.
