My insurance recommended this place to fix chips in windshield. We spoke early on Tuesday. She said for Wednesday a person could be here between 9 am - 1 pm OR Thursday 1pm -5pm. I opted for Wednesday and had to rearrange three appointments. Wednesday 9am - 1 pm came and went - No Person had called or showed, I called vendor and spoke to the same woman. She said 'your not on calendar for today' Plus your on for Thursday from 9am - 1pm'. What the heck This is terrible customer service. I called my insurance company, filed a complaint, and got referred to another business (Pat's Windshield Repair [5 stars] who showed in 1 hour and 15 minutes. I had an awful experience at Speedy Glass in Davis, CA. I would caution everyone to avoid them at all costs. Here's my story loaded with issues you should avoid... On the way to work I caught a large rock on I-80 and needed a new windshield. I have an almost new 2006 MB 350 SLK. The most complicated thing on the windshield is the silly rain sensor. I obtained on online quote of $217 for a new windshield. The mobile technician came to my workplace and replaced the windshield and I paid $260 all in for the job. (Day 1) On the way home I noticed that the rear view mirror was placed farther down the windshield than usual and appeared loose. Cars behind me were hard to see with a wiggling mirror! By the time I got back to work the next day, the mirror had fallen completely off the windshield and was hanging by a wire (not inspiring & dangerous). The technician returned and attempted to glue the rain sensor/mirror holder to the windshield. It looked funky, but OK, until I attempted to drive the car. The mirror wiggled side to side and made it impossible to see anything behind me. When the car sat in the sun it got worse and the mirror looked like it was going to fall off again! (Day 2) I called the branch manager, Kam, and he asked me to bring the car to Davis for him to see it. I traveled the 20 miles each way for Kam to recommend a new windshield with rain sensor/mirror mounting from Mercedes at a cost of $542. He said he would credit my original payment. He added the rain sensor unit that the technician had broken for $113 to my bill. (Day 3) Kam called two days later and said the parts were in. I drove back 20 miles each way to find not only the $542.88 for the MB glass and $113.49 control unit, but also $45 to install it (again) and another $5 (again) adhesive fee. I objected to all but the glass since my control unit was fine before the two failed install attempts where it was damaged and I had already paid an install fee and adhesive fee (are you kidding??) once, but Kam instead said that he usually marks up these retail prices by 30%. So I guess I'm lucky???(Day 4) So, I now do have MB glass in my car and a new control unit and I paid 300% more than the original quote. I only had to drive 80 miles out of my way and give up 9 hours of my time over 4 days to get it done. Beware!!! Exceptional and friendly service! ... Was out of state when the sun roof glass on our car got broken ... Came home and our insurance agent arranged for replacement services at Speedy Glass in Davis ... They were right on time with doing the work at our scheduled appointment and then discovered the second glass section was also damaged ... They arranged for an updated insurance claim authorization and ordered that glass section ... Rather than have us inconvenienced, they sent a mobile unit to our office (25 miles away) to make sure everything would fit, then finished the job on site two days later ... Worst. Service. Ever. The website claims to be able to repair windshield cracks from 2-10 inches. I noticed one in my windshield yesterday (~6 inches) and went right to Speedy Glass this morning. First, I arrived to find no one there. A purse and drink sitting on the desk, but not a soul around. I waited for about 10 minutes, then called the number to see if I could get someone on the phone. Nothing. About 15 minutes after I arrived, Danielle walked in with what appeared to be a bag of food and asked how long I had been waiting... 15 minutes, I said. She said that wasn't possible, that she had only been gone 5 minutes. Ok, so I'm lying? Moving on, I gave her the information on my car, and told her about the windshield crack. She said that they can only fix cracks smaller than a quarter and that the windshield would have to be replaced. She gave me a quote and told me that it couldn't be done until Monday afternoon. I went back to my friend's house, frustrated (I don't live in Davis; am just here for the weekend). Checked the Speedy Glass website again to make sure I wasn't crazy. Nope, it says exactly what I thought. So, I called Danielle back and asked why there's a discrepancy between what she said and what it says on the website... "I don't know, I'm not in charge of the website", she told me. "Is there a manager or someone else I can speak with?", I asked. "No, I'm the only one here", she said, starting to get annoyed. I hung up. Speedy Glass, you just lost my business (and who knows how many other's) because of Danielle and her poor service. read more

On New Years Eve I was unfortunate enough to find my car, upon returning home from a party, with a smashed window. Luckily nothing was stolen, but I was left to pay for the damage. Speedy auto glass gave me a reasonable quote for the damage (when it was the closest to me). I went in for my scheduled appointment at 11AM, walked to the market for groceries and breakfast, and returned to find my window replaced as good as new. They were kind, prompt, affordable for a college town. I would definitely recommend them to anyone in the Davis area! read more

The man who came installed my windshield within half an hour and was very professional. I paid $250 all-included for a new front windshield for my 2002 Toyota Prius, which is comparable to two other providers (my wallet still grumbled though...). They'll give you a 4-hour window in which they'll come, which isn't awesome, but seems standard for this type of service. read more

I was very impressed with this business! They were true to their name. I called them, they where friendly efficient and effective. They gave me a clear game plan and then delivered. My appointment was between 10-2pm the service agent was done by 10:20! My window looks great and I could move on with my day! This place is amazing. I brought my truck in last week for a chip repair on my window. The staff is incredibly helpful and quick (especially Jorge). They got me in the day after I called, and though they offer service that comes right to you, I was in a time crunch so I brought it in. The paperwork took longer than usual because of unavoidable circumstances, but Jorge was incredibly kind. They offered me a discount because the paperwork took so long, and tried to get me on my way as quickly as possible. Given the circumstances, they were super speedy and knew what they were doing. Since it was a chip repair (which has a 2% chance of spreading), they promised that if the chip does spread, the cost of the chip repair will go towards the windshield replacement! Overall, this was one of the most pleasant experiences I have had with Automotive service. I would highly recommend this place for anything glass related, and will definitely be coming back. They go above and beyond to help you, and they know what they're doing. read more

One year ago, I got my car window replaced by Speedy Glass. Fast forward to this past week: the sheet of glass came completely out of place when i tried to roll my window down. I went to Speedy Glass first thing on the day it happened. I wanted to get it looked at but they didn't have any mechanics working in the shop. The soonest I could get an appointment was the day after. So I got it looked at by a different repair service, and they showed me that Speedy Glass did a horrible job with the original installation. None of the bolts they put in were tight enough to actually secure the glass in place and multiple screws were missing. Also, both times I visited the shop I arrived exactly at 8am, which is when they are supposed to open. Both times, they opened 20 minutes late which makes me wonder if that is a regular occurrence. I don't have any knowledge of their commercial or home glass work. But I definitely would not recommend Speedy Glass for auto repairs. read more

Came in with a long L shaped cracked on windshield for my 370z. George looked at it right away and gave me a reasonable quote. He set up an appointment for me the next day and had it fixed on that day. I was a little worried that the job might be difficult because there aren't many 370z's with a broken windshield coming in for repairs in Davis, but George did an excellent job. He even gave me some tips on how to handle my car for the next couple of days too. These people here are professional and do great work. Someone smashed my rear driver's side window and I needed to get the whole thing replaced. I was really impressed. They live up to their name. Rick was friendly, helpful, quick and vacuumed up all of the visible extra glass that fell in pieces on the floor. I needed to be at work and they had no problem coming to the vet med campus. I picked Speedy because of the overall number of positive reviews and their really good price to fix my Honda Civic Windshield. Jackpot! George, out of their Davis office, was scheduled to arrive between 1 and 4 today. He called to ask if he could come early.... Heck yes! I have the day off and wanted to see how the work was done. He was courteous, and say he didn't mind my hanging around. I have no manual skills at all, but know good work when I see it. I saw it. Wow. Efficient, precise, competent, outstanding! I had a leak in my windshield and contacted Speedy. I was hoping they could just re-seal. They tried to do everything but the windshield cracked so they ended up replacing it with a new one. My daughter called me after a major problem with George at Speedy Glass in Davis, CA. She was in tears by the way she was treated by this manager/owner. She had her windshield replace there and has had a bad rattle ever since. She returned to have it fixed and was treated very poorly. I had to check it out myself being the over-protective father I am. I am sorry to say that she was 100% correct. I spoke with George and he was the most arrogant unprofessional punk I have ever dealt with. I would never take my vehicle to this place. She took her vehicle to another shop in Sacramento at my suggestion and they found the problem immediately which was related to the repairs made by Speedy Glass. I was patched into a call today with speedy through my insurance, who no fault of their own thought speedy would be a easy and local choice. Danielle, the receptionist was very rude right off the bat. My car passenger window was broken into and I was trying to have it fixed, not really knowing the process (mobile or I go to them) I was somewhat confused as I didn't even know their full services or prices. She was irritated and less than helpful, especially when I asked how this all worked. She had one option for a Mobile time without any other dates or times to offer at all, and since I work full time said that would not work for me and could I just come to them. I asked the times available and was told very rudely the few times. I picked a time and asked the address where they where. She kind of mumbled so I asked again. She loudly read off the numbers to me like I was a child, number by number and I finally asked her if there was some kind of problem and why was she being so rude to me. She rudely insisted she wasn't but I finally had enough and hung up on her, called my awesome insurance agent back and found a new place. As a life long davis resident I try to keep my business local. Sorry Speedy, Danielle is causing you customers, and it seems like I am not the only one. After looking at yelp to make sure I wasn't just imagining this, saw multiple reviews of the same exact behavior. Customer service matters and no matter how great the installer is, your receptionist is a major flaw in your business. read more

I got over it, but two days later they "lost" my address for the scheduled at home window repair service. I waited for about 30 min that day only to get a phone call from someone with a terrible attitude. I canceled the service and wasted my time. The worst experience I have ever had attempting to have a windshield replaced in 60 years. It's now Jan 2018 and it happened in the Dec 2016 period plus or minus a month and I am still thinking how they treated me. I still find myself at times thinking about the quality of work, management wanted to slip by me and the very discourtesy treatment I received at the Davis shop. Now to be fair the other employees there were very nice but certainly not in charge. Some of the body paint had been peeled and scratched off by the manager during the process as he removed the windshield. It's a classic vehicle, installing the new windshield would hide all the removal created damage. Completing the job without properly repairing the damage would eventually lead to rust that would be hidden from site and then create extensive rust out damage. That's unrepairable damage that could be prevented if we just paused on the install. I wanted to do was, repaint the area first at my expense and return the vehicle later to have the install completed. The Davis Management's thought, was to install the windshield at that moment and then I could have it removed and reinstalled later to repaint the area hidden underneath the windshield. After stressful discussions and threats of I could not have my vehicle back, I finally removed my vehicle from the premises, never to return again for the windshield install. read more

Speedy replaced my windshield almost two years ago. Last week the top moulding started coming off, and finally broke. I called them, they said to bring it right in, and said that it would be covered under warranty. When I got there, the guy who did the work said that he actually took the windshield out, because that was a better way to replace the moulding on the truck instead of just pressing and cementing something in. And while he was at it, he fixed a very small crack in the windshield. When I asked him if I owed him for any of the extra work, he said "no charge." Wow. read more
