Unfortunately, on 8/25, I had an accident at home and had to rush to NowCare. Upon arrival it was seen that I was in the need of assistance so the young lady at the front desk got a nurse to temporarily bandage my hand. I needed 3 stitches! The nurse was professional, kind, and very personable during the triage phase. The next nurse was super kind as well and told me all this steps that were going to be done to get me setup for the doctor to stitch up my bad cut. He was equally as kind and professional. While I was there he had a great bedside manner and told me everything he was going to do before he proceeded. He was conversational and kind. I'm always amazed when I have to go to this practice. They do their best to make sure the visit there is done with professionalism and kindness and that can be a challenge when they are always busy. My visit to now care was awesome from the front desk to getting my doctors note at the end of the visit. First off I was with Stephanie the new nurse LPN was nice kind and made me feel calm and welcome for her . X-Ray tech Liv was very lively. I'm Scottish and to find out that liv visited my home town was funny , small world . She was very funny and we both had a good laugh, for her , the doctor was awesome , front desk girls For them . And last but not least was Dre who called me 2 days after my visit asking if I was ok and if I needed anything I was to call for him and my whole NowCare experience . Came in to be seen and have a COVID test done- they wouldn't proceed until they had a copy of my medical - that's fine.. but the lady at front told me once they get that through email a nurse could come take a COVID test while I wait in my car - FINE.. I'm ok with that.. 20 minutes later I'm waiting in the car and get a text with the link- keep trying to join the zoom call for a telehealth- but they didn't send me a Password - I get 4 texts to join- NO PASSWORD - I call the office and tell them - I need a password- I get put on hold ... while on hold I'm getting a call from similar # it's the doctor asking if I'm joining the Zoom call- read more

The office staff and the nurses were great. This is the only reason I gave 2 stars. This was my 2nd visit for severe back pain, 48 hours apart due to no available appointments with my GP. The first time I was there the physician was awesome and sympathetic. Gave me RXs for pain management (non-narcotic as requested) and gave me an injection (non-narcotic as requested) for the pain which was very helpful. The physician on the 2nd visit (Dr. Cooper) was impatient and unhelpful. When I asked if she could give me another injection for the pain, she told me she could not help me and told me to go to the ER. I saw Dr. Mansfield at NowCare - Suffolk on 2-13-23 b/c of headache on left side of head. Dr. Eliz Ward from Bayview Physicians (next door) recommended the clinic to me b/c they had so many patients. Yes, the wait was 2hrs + but, was treated with kindness and respect from staff/Dr. Mansfield, and the nice nurse that gave me an injection to help me get relief pretty quickly. I was diagnosed with infection of sinus passages (left side of head and mastoiditis. Two prescriptions were called in to Walgreens on Godwin Blvd really quick. I am so happy to give this review b/c I am seeing relief - not completely yet, but getting there. Thank you for your kindness and making the right call on my illness. If I could give 0 stars I would. The front office staff particularly the one who sat to the left not once looked up from the screen to acknowledge when speaking to me or my son. When in the doctors office the Physician didn't get up from his stool or even close enough to my child to exam him before referring us to Sentra Emergency room as a 15 year medical professional I am aware and even experienced this type of medical treatment. After about 4 visits 2018-2019 this is my review. As a patient waiting in the lobby..I should not have to listen/overhear conversations from the front staff about previous patients and their visits. Unprofessional, but I understand that this happens at many doctors offices not just nowcare. Ugh...Outdated processes, you have to fill out a paper form on the clipboard (why is this not electronically done, - similar to how you check in at the Patient First locations), sit down then take the clipboard back to the front. Then within 10 mins later get back up to give them your insurance card, then pay. Just seems like an outdated process... Then get back up for consultation and vitals, then sit back in the lobby then wait again. Then finally get a room and wait to be seen by a doctor. Imagine putting an elderly patient or someone who is in a lot of thru this. Service / paperwork issues needs to be fixed. But finally when I got to see the doctor the doctor was nice which help to make up for some of the unpleasant experience. Overall experience still feels rushed at times.. but getting better. read more

I've been here a few times when feeling sick and worn down. The doctors have always been friendly and knowledgeable, making a quick diagnosis and explaining what they think is going on. They also provide guidance on what they are prescribing which I appreciate. The front desk staff are not the friendliest. Maybe it's due to the sheer velocity of people coming and going, but they definitely make you feel like a number. The location itself is nice and clean. They can get backed up pretty quickly, especially in the morning, but if you need to get in and be seen, this place does a good job. Getting out is a bit tough due to how close it is to the stop light, but it looks like they are expanding the location and changing the parking layout. read more

I have been coming here for a couple years. I come here more than my actual primary care doctor. The convenience is wonderful. Staff has always been kind to me and my family. The office is clean. They offer you a discount if you don't have insurance and want to pay in full. Surprisingly enough it's quite affordable. I had to come here after leaving a hospital with poor service and they gave me a room and bed and fluids through an IV let me rest and treat the sickness I had acquired. I was very pleasantly surprised to find such helpful and friendly staff, nurse and doctor when I took my mother in this morning for an urgent care visit. They were fast as well and took special care with my mom who has both hearing and visual problems. It wasn't very busy which helps, but I've been to other urgent care facilities in the area that are slow and/or seemingly uncaring about a patient's comfort or condition. My daughter is havlong allergies symptoms right before closing. She had low grade fever. I had her take Rapid COVID 19. It was negative, she wears a mask. She went to Now Care they were so rude , they put my daughter life at risk. She is naive. They treated her as if she was going to give the plague. Told her sit in her car. Over 1 1/2 hrs went by in the heat. They called said her COVID test was negative and Flu. She needed to leave according to the PA named Jennifer she's said my child is risk. Fork leaving late to go home. So my insurance is on it. They were waiting for thier payment fir doing nothing. Now my child is uncomfortable and confused and afraid. read more

Customer service is virtually zero. Suggest you to find any other Urgent Care unless you want to be totally frustrated. 800 # for Nowcare is a joke unless you want to hear a recorded message or to be on hold for 30 minutes plus. Husband went yesterday with puncture to auxiliary area. They told him at noon they would call in prescription to pharmacy. Last check with pharmacy was 8:30 pm "none called in ". NOWCARE closed . Called at 8:00 am opening , placed on hold for 15 min then told to hold for nurse. Got in car and drove from Gates county NC to Suffolk VA still on hold. Total of 52 minutes walked into office still on hold. Told receptionist problem. Told it would be another 20 minutes to get prescription. Sorry for the inconvenience. my daughter is in college, and was sick on monday, and tuesday, so we decided to take her to the urgent care on wednesday. my daughter who is 18 felt as though she was given a guesstamation (if this could be a word). she was told her throat was red and spots were seen, so it may be strep. an rx was sent to the pharmacy for strep, and a note to return to college the next day. i'm sorry but correct me isnt strep contagious, and youre sending her back to school. if i werent in the medical field it probably wouldnt bother as much, but the medical tx my child received at this now care urgent facility is lower than medicore. im now having to call her pcm to get a note for school covering monday thru the time she is to returns to school. never in a million years did i think i had to make a review on medical facility/staff as far a tx. i love to praise medical professionals for they help, but this time im a frustrated parent concerned for her daughter. read more

My 1st visit to Nowcare was great. Saw a MD who really seemed to care & was familiar with my diagnosis. I've had to return 4 or 5 times since, each visit worse than the one before. Have only seen nurses or PAs, and only one of them knew what my primary diagnosis was and its symptoms. The others looked at me blankly. My Primary Care Physician instructed me to go to Nowcare twice for tests and services she couldn't do in her office. She called them both times while I was still in her office to be sure Nowcare provided these services before sending me on a wild goose chase. Upon my Check In, everyone there denied my PCP had called and stated they did not perform such services. The last time I needed a couple of stitches and Nowcare was called in my presence. My doctor was told they did stitches and told her to send me over. As soon as i walked in Nowcare the staff began telling me no one had called, they didn't do this, and I needed to go to the hospital for this. I turned and walked out without saying anything more, knowing it was pointless. I have not returned since and get a bad feeling when i think about that place. read more

Worst Urgent Care we have ever visited. Tim Kearns, PA in particular is incompetent. He prescribed azithromycin for my daughter and when we expressed concerns about potential side effects and requested a different antibiotic for an ear infection, he refused to give us something different. We asked to see the other provider on staff at the time and were denied to see anyone else. He told us that he was unaware of any side effects with azithromycin and it was the same as a cephalosporin. The FDA website warns of potentially deadly heart arrhythmias with azithromycin and the fact that he was completely "unaware of any side effects" is pretty scary. I expect a provider I go to have knowledge of the medications they prescribe. Front desk staff was rude as well. Go anywhere but here. read more
