The food was tasty but since we ordered to go I didn't realize the sauce was missing from the churrasco mufongo until we were home. We were also told when asked that the plantakos came with fries but didn't receive any. If there was not any on the side as we were told, then we would have just ordered it in addition to everything else we ordered. Other than the food being left out or the miscommunication on their part, the food was something we both enjoyed. Maybe we will be back, but eat in next time. Super friendly staff, attentive, owner, delicious food, and wonderful ambience. For drinks we had sangria and the mimosa, which were both great. For appetizers we had the spring roll empanadas, which was good but a bit dry without any sauce. I found it odd that they don't provide sauce with the empanadas unless you purchase a set of 3 so we had to dry ones since we only ordered 2. They may want to reconsider this. For entrées, we had the Sweet & Spicy Mushroom Sandwich and Crispy Mofongo which were delicious! The sandwich came with fries, which were good but a little too crispy for me. Came over from California to visit family and decided to visit Next Stop Vegan in Brooklyn since we saw their video on Insta. It was fantastic. The food was awesome and the owners were super nice. They really doing their best to make you feel at home in a nice ambiance to taste a different kind of Dominican food the vegan way. I pray that future restaurant goers see this review because when I tell you that one of the BEST menu items is their oyster mushroom burger, I MEAN IT!!!! Everything about the burger was delicious! From the soft and tenderness of the pretzel bun, to the flavorful sandwich itself. The plantains inside the sandwich were sweet and tender. The oyster mushrooms were carefully seasoned with the spicy sauce to accompany it. This pretzel sandwich definitely created a balance between sweet and spicy! If you're afraid to try anything else on the menu, whether you're vegan or not, please let this sandwich be your starting point. Also, please check out their lunch menu during select days and times. My only suggestion is that it would be helpful for the restaurant to have a website with their menu posted. I've visited this restaurant a few times, so I had an idea of what was on the menu, but not entirely. Implementing a website with menu prices would help new and old customers to plan accordingly. Other than that, the customer service is ALWAYS welcoming and understanding, the food is tasty and flavorful and the owners are very appreciative. 10/10 read more

We stopped in shortly before 8pm on a a Friday night and wow! We were taken by surprise... in good way. The ambiance, the colors, and that blackboard wall! The hostess/cashier was super friendly, and welcoming. We ordered the Philly cheesesteak and the Mexican tacos with portobello mushroom as the protein. Let me just say.. this was the best cheesesteak I have EVER had! Even compared to the carnivorous one! 10/10, would recommend. After work vibes. Stopped by Next Stop Vegan to try out some dishes and ordered the El Plato, which consisted of black beans, brown rice, avocado, plantain, cabbage & a medley of vegetables. We enjoyed it. This is shareable depending on your appetite. It was tasty and quite filling. We had the cauliflower wings, which is breaded cauliflower with different sauces on it, like bbq and hot sauce. It was okay and a light snack to go with the El Plato. We tried the homemade juices and they were okay. Looking to try the Empanadas and burgers next time. So stay tuned. Service was polite, on time, friendly and a reason to go back. They have a points system, so make sure you ask about that and build your points to get a 10% discount when you spend $100. Those are easy points to get even on a first visit.$$. The first impression is so important and when walking in at the same time at two other groups the cashier managed to create a helpful and individual experience for each of us! She was so knowledgeable and friendly throughout our entire meal. In terms of the food it was delicious! The burgers come with seasoned fries which were cooked perfectly. The black bean burger was flavorful, in my opinion there was bit too much mayo added and in the future I'd just ask for it on the side or not at all. The truffle burger was so good but definitely has a very strong truffle flavor so if you don't love truffle I would not get this. The mushroom with the Mac and cheese on the burger is the perfect flavor combination. The real winner in this meal though was the bun - one of the best buns I have had it was light and fluffy while a little crisp from being grilled. I can't tell y'all how good the bun was. I saw a reel on Instagram and immediately wanted to try because hey, Dominican AND vegan? No brainer. Looking at the menu though I realized there was an Mexican/American flare with things such as burritos, tostadas, and Philly Cheesesteaks. Although clever, I was looking forward to more traditional vegan renditions of Dominican classics like tres golpes, salchichon, etc. If you know, you know. Maybe it was the classification on the reel I saw that threw me off because it definitely said "Dominican Vegan" which is what caught my attention to begin with. I ordered the mofonguitos and the "Chimi" which is a vegan version of a popular Dominican style sandwich. The "Chimi" was good. I felt like I was eating a real chimi and that chimi sauce, chefs kiss! They also have a Patacon version of the chimi called Platano Power sandwich which is essentially the Chimi sandwich but instead of the bread, its two green plantains. My son tried the mofonguitos and he loved it so I would go back for those. This place did not disappoint, I had "El Plato" with a tamarind jarritos soda, firstly the mushroom with peppers and onions were seasoned so good I was sad when I completely devoured it, came with rice and beans (option of white or brown) I ended up getting the brown, also seasoned perfectly, sweet plantain , and a delicious cabbage salad with slice avocado in an amazing lemon vinaigrette, I am very very happy with the dish I chose. This is a delivery review of Next Stop Vegan. I had NSV for lunch one day after being on the lookout for a healthier option that still carried when it comes to flavor. NSV was a good choice! I had 'el plato', which comes with rice, plantains, black beans, and avocado salad. Everything was pretty good, but the beans were where it's at. I don't know what they use to make their beans, but they were by far the best black beans I've had in recent memory. I think they're mixed with cilantro - maybe that's what makes them so special. Other than that, the flavors were really awesome but I wish the meal came with salsa. I was really craving a kick to compliment all of the wonderful variety in the plate. I've been following Next Stop Vegan on instagram and was so excited to try it. It did not disappoint! The birria tacos were amazing. The tacos were perfectly cooked with really good filling and the birria was so so flavorful. My son got the oyster mushroom burger and he absolutely loved it. We also got the mofongo and ropa vieja which were both good. Ask for a side of the chipotle aoili for some good spice. Great service too. Degar was super sweet and helpful. Wish I lived here! I really really wanted to like this place but found the food disappointing. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak sandwich for delivery. It was a large size portion with a lot of fries. The actual sandwich is on a regular deli roll. The vegan cheese had a strange taste to it and the texture was melty but a little bit on the slimy side. I could definitely tell it was not real cheese. The mushrooms and onions inside were well cooked but the sauce was a little bit more acidic than I would expect for a cheesesteak. 1st and foremost, I am not a vegan, so I am reviewing without any skewing toward a vegetarian favoritism. The Bandera, was truly excellent. I won't say it faked me out into thinking I was eating meat but I can say the texture and taste was very close. I am one of those who have criticized the taste of the fake meat movement over the years, but I have no criticizing here. It tasted fantastic and if I wasn't alerted that it wasn't beef I actually may have been faked out. All the accompaniments, beans, salad, arroz, it all made a really excellent meal. The Passion fruit juice was truly a great choice by my waiter to accompany his choice of entree. The ambiance, truly a fun and comfortable spot. I love the vibe, spirit, and food at this place! They have an amazing menu, but ended up enticing us with plates that were themed around dishes from Latin American countries. We got the Venezuelan plate that had pupusas, which were amazing with guacamole and chicken, a corn fritter cake with melted cheese, empanadas, cheese fingers, and a sweet plantain dish. It was all super fresh and delish. So fun to try vegan eats endemic to Venezuelan cuisine. The plate cost about $30 and was def enough for two people, great for sharing. I loved the music, the decorations, the food and staff was delightful. The portions were well priced. The food was well seasoned.
