Bait and switch. I shopped online for tires that would fit my car. Online it said there were "entry" level tires for $68 each...but didn't tell me what brand. I added the $25/tire installation and computer alignment, but I was only directed to schedule an installation not make a payment. I scheduled the install for just 2 tires (since the Bluffton store didn't have all 4) and when I got there, the very nice employees at the service desk let me know that the price for the cheapest tire they have at the store was $125 each. Traveling I picked up a puncher in my tire. It being a weekend I make sure to make an appointment. Got to this NTB and they said it should not be long. With a simple fix as this that made sense. 2.5hrs later I finally got my tire plugged. To have to wait this long with an appointment is ridiculous. Do not recommend! While I appreciate the apology from the owner and I do not want to be mean but the "hollow" response of let us know more about the experience is just marketing. The fact is I clearly stated what the issue was and honoring appointments was the solve...what more do you need to know. The other fact is your business has 3.0 stars indicating consistent issues. You need to focus on understanding root causes of failures in your business not just worrying about responding to reviews. You responding does not solve the issues in your business. They suggested an appointment the next day, offering me a discount for the inconvenience. I called in the morning to see if they got my message. They did. I explained that I wanted it patched not plugged. They informed me that they would do that. I showed up on time. Took my car in for brake service They returned it and the brakes are grinding and the brake service light is still on. They were supposed to replace the sensor and clear the service warning light. I took it back three times because they kept saying they didn't have the correct equipment to do it. Ultimately the manager said he can't clear it. I've never had any issue with having my car serviced and the warning light code cleared. He was also rude. I am not happy. I wouldn't recommend. read more

Earlier this month I posted a good review for NTB, Bluffton. Unfortunately, since my initial visit, I've had nothing but problems and no resolution. I bought four new tires. the balance on the rear tires has been off at highway speed since I picked up the car. Made an appointment for 10am this morning for my third visit to get this corrected. The appointment, which I made by phone on Monday was not in their system. I waited a half hour and my car was never taken into the shop. There is only one person working in the shop! Two people sitting at the front desk, one person walking around. But just one person working on cars in the shop! I now have to go out and find someone who will high speed balance my rear tires correctly so I can feel safe driving on the highway. As an owner, you responded to my first positive post. They want you to front the money prior to service that might or might not happen. I find that business model very offensive. I will travel a distance to avoid this location. Challenging times during COVID. They do wear masks at the check in area. I only came for an oil change which took about 4 hours to perform. Not sure why. They did rotate my tires as well. The desk staff were friendly. I mentioned that I was long overdue for an oil change and my engine light was on to remind me of that. My daughter who is only 19 years old and just got her drivers license went to this establishment to have air put in the tires after being responsible and reading her Chevy app telling her her tires were low on air pressure. Mind you now she just paid $801.00 for new tires and a oil change there! Did I mention she is only 19. This place is absolutely bull shit. I had an 8:30 am apt and I get a call three hours later for them just to tell me they can't do anything. They are incapable of a simple plug in my tire, tried to say that it was in the sidewall when I have previously had it checkout out by another mechanic, saying that it was absolutely not in my sidewall. We were traveling and the tire notification popped on. It turned out that we had run over a screw. We were able to stop here within thirty minutes of them closing and they happily changed my tire for me. Their customer service was great and the tire was changed pretty quickly!! This NTB store has done a break job for me over a year ago and it was a good job at a fair price. I am sure about the price because I checked thee other repair shops in the area, all higher. However, I have another issue which all of you should be aware of before scheduling your appointments via NTB's Internet appointment scheduling system! Suggestion: Any appointment you have made via the NTB's Internet appointment scheduling system will need a follow up call to the store you scheduled the appointment at to ensure they will in fact accept the appointment and do the work at your appointed time. Information below: On-Line Appointment System Does NOT WORK PROPERLY! Yesterday 6/12/15 I scheduled an alignment appointment for 4:30 PM over (4) hours in advance of the appointment time. I drove 40 minutes and stood in line for 15 minutes. I was speaking with your representative Jose Luis Vargas. He told me they could not do the alignment because they had already had too many appointments scheduled at the same time as my on-line scheduled appointment and because they do not have the man power at this time? When I complained he apologized and told me the on-line system does not back check the store's logged appointments. It does not check its allocated mechanics available to service your vehicle at the time it is scheduling the appointment. I asked why didn't you call me to tell me that instead of wasting my gas and time to ride (40) minutes and wait another 15 minutes in line? He told me "I did not see your appointment until now". I had to drive another forty minutes to get home. Bottom Line: I wasted 95 minutes and gas for two vehicles (because I could not wait for the car) to not get my scheduled appointment alignment because NTB's on-line appointment scheduling system does NOT WORK! This is especially troubling because I have a three year alignment contract with NTB with two years left on it on two different vehicles. We will seriously have to reevaluate if it is good value to continue with these contracted auto maintenance services or not? I want to be clear this store in Bluffton, SC has serviced my vehicles in the past and done a good job. But NTB Corporate apparently just wants to jam their stores with appointments because they want more profits and I am fine with that, after all this is America. However, it is NTB's feeling that it is their customer's problem when they waste their customer's time and money because NTB's Internet appointment scheduling system does not work. Hey, this should really make you bright customer service centric corporate geniuses at NTB National Headquarters happy. I needed a full synthetic oil change ($76.00 your quoted price) and a fuel filter change ($220 your quoted price) on a 2010 VW Golf TDI in addition to my alignment that I wanted your Bluffton, SC store to do these additional auto maintenance services for me. Riddle me this corporate geniuses, what does an angry customer do when he is fooled into thinking he has a scheduled appointment and then when he gets to your store and is told he cannot have his alignment as scheduled? Does he a) Wait until his NTB store has an appointment open and take up more time and spend more money to go back and try it again with the NTB appointment lottery or b) Does he go to the Firestone Center up the road in Bluffton and give them the business NTB would have gotten! That's right the answer is B! And the customer is actually rewarded for taking his business elsewhere because it only costs $159.41 for the same auto maintenance service which saves him about $136.00 if you include taxes which the customer would have never known if he was not forced to look elsewhere for his auto maintenance. That Internet appointment system is really helping now to create competition for a loyal NTB customer. Think the slovenly designed Internet appointment system doesn't matter now? I am one customer and a good one that has spent over $2,200 in your stores in just the last year! How many services will it take to make up for your lost profits on this one sale? How much on average does it cost to retain a customer? How much on average does it cost to get one back after they are unhappy with your company? How many customers had the same experience I did with your Internet appointment system and decided to take their business elsewhere, just like I did? Still feeling like geniuses with the release of your "not ready for prime time Internet appointment scheduling software system? If you do, you're not geniuses; we would use a different word down here in the south for that type of business acumen, lack of customer service and lack of professionalism you have demonstrated. I was very pleased with the service at this location and would recommend it. Both managers Matt and Steven were helpful when approached by my issue (my tire loosing huge amounts of air). They had no issue inspecting to find the issue. They concluded it was a crack in my wheel and still went out of their way to help fix the crack wheel. read more

Here's my experience...just the facts. I took the car in on Monday to have a tire patched and tires aligned. They said they'd finish it that day, but by Tues morning (10:30 am), they had only patched the tire. I needed the car so I had to pick it up and make plans to bring it back later for the alignment. On Wed., I noticed the tire was still going flat, so I took it back up there at 10 am and asked them to patch the tire again and align the tires (...Monday all over again). They never called, so I called at 3 pm and they said they just finished patching the tire and it's ready to go. I asked if they had done the alignment and she didn't know what I was talking about, so they had to pull it back in to do that. I needed the car by 4:45, so I called at 4:30 and they had just started on the car and it wouldn't be done until 5 pm. I had to ask them to stop, so I could pick it up and go to my appointment. SO, I TOOK THE CAR IN TWO DIFFERENT TIMES AND NEITHER TIME COULD THEY DO IT!!! Both days they said they could easily do it within the day. Both days, they didn't, so now I will have to go somewhere else. A huge waste of time!!!! Also, when they originally quoted the cost of the alignment, they said $89, but it turns out that that is only good for 6-month warranty. If you want their one year warranty, well, that is $129. You only find that out once you bring the car in. Just for comparison, Firestone is $84 and that includes a full year warranty. read more

I purchased my 2004 Sebring new, it has been serviced 90% of the time by Chrysler, a few times by me and once by Valvoline and Bluffton Tire & Auto. 2 days ago I went to NBT in Bluffton to have an oil change. I was there for 1.5 hours for a 10 minute job. After an hour I asked what the problem, its' then they told me the oil pan drain hole was stripped and they had to put in a larger plug. The oil pan is made of cast aluminum and the drain plug is hardened steal. They showed me the plug which had no physical defects. . After questioning them I told them that the new plug was a self-tapping plug, they said yes. I asked them if I was going have a problem for my next oil change, they said no. I asked them if the cleaned out the oil pan to make sure there was no filling in the oil, they said yes, I really hope so. When I got home and read the invoice it stated "Customer informed that oil pan may need to be replaced." Not true! If/when I have to replace my oil pan I'm looking at around $350.00, not good. I'm so upset with NTB changing my oil, it's not rocket science. My personal opinion is that they stripped the Oil pan threads when they put the plug back in. I've been changing oil and doing repairs on my cars for over 50 years. I will never ever bring a vehicle anywhere near NTB they are incompetent and have no accountability. Carmine read more

Ok, so here is my experience with this store. I returned after purchasing a set of 4 tires and rims. Michelin Tires, $225.00 per tire in 2014. I returned to the store as the alignment when I first purchased the tires were not done right as my Tundra was vibrating at 55 mph. I have recently noticed that my tires are coming apart on the outside working inward. I returned to the store to have them replace my tires with Michelins warranty. I spoke last Thursday to the Manager and he said he would call Michelin and call me in a few days. Today is Tuesday, I called him and he said he is just getting time to call them. I told him I called Corporate and they said they will change them out, once they heard from him. Pending this conclusion; they should replace all 4 tires , no questions asked. The front office staff at the Bluffton, SC shop should be replaced, as should the entire computer system. I had an appointment and arrived promptly at noon for tire balancing & rotation, wheel alignment and repair a tire pressure sensor. The sales associate, Jaime Ancrum, never acknowledged my presence. I told her my name and my appointment details. The phone rang and she left me standing there while she took care of the caller. After 15 minutes of fumbling with the system, they finally printed my work order and proceeded to move my car into the bay. After an hour and twenty minutes I walked to the front office, only to see my car out in the parking lot. The male associate was ringing me up for about $80 for the replaced pressure sensor. After he again fumbled around with the system for several minutes, Jamie came back in and said the sensor wasn't replaced! I asked if everything else was done and was told only the tires were balanced and rotated!! They said they'd pull into the alignment bay and that it would only be about another ten minutes or so. No way! I said not to, that I'll go somewhere else. So I wasted over an hour and a half and only got one out of the three items serviced. BTW, when I originally bought the tires I paid for lifetime balance & rotation plus all wheel alignments. Next time I need tires, I'll buy them anywhere other than the Bluffton, SC NTB. I don't care how much I need to spend nor how far I need to drive, I won't spend another minute or penny at the Bluffton NTB! read more

The most honest, ethical staff around! Jamie, Matt and the team are amazing and most of all, knowledgeable. I had an issue with my brand-new Jeep and the tires are cupping, I took it in to NTB and Matt very astutely realized that the tires were definitely compromised and all from the same manufacturing run location and batch. NTB encouraged me to take it to the Jeep dealer because they could honor my warranty; however the Jeep dealer out a new river auto mall is not ethical nor honest. They tried to tell me that my tires were not rotated properly, when in fact they were and service records verify that. The BF Goodrich Warranty representative suggested I go back to NTB because they were not only an authorized dealer but very knowledgeable and honest in their service. NTB work directly with BF good rich to replace all four of my tires and honor the limited warranty so my cost was only 25% of the replacement. Had I not consulted NTB not only would I have been ripped off by the Jeep dealer, the problem would still not have been solved and could've presented a danger to me and my family read more

Do NOT bring your car to be serviced here!! I used to take my car to get oil changes and other maintenance done here, but the last time I took it for just a simple oil change, they first told me I needed a new oil plug (no problem-maybe $20 fix) and then said they found that my head gasket was leaking oil and quoted me $750 to fix it. I thought this was strange. I keep an eye on things like oil leaks and had not seen any spots in the driveway prior to taking it to ntb, and at this point there was huge spots of oil where I park so I got a second opinion. Within 5 minutes of my car being at a new shop, they were able to tighten my new oil plug about 3 full turns, and to my relief, no more oil leak!! They deliberately left my new plug lose so it would look like I was leaking oil bad and pay a large amount of money to them for something I didn't even need! It all makes me wonder what else I may have paid for and not actually needed done.. read more
