Came here shortly after store opening on Saturday ~noon with my girlfriend to look for some new jeans. Anthony greeted us, and quickly helped us out, providing some great recommendations on cut / wash / care of jeans based on our individual goal's for the denim as it relates to expanding on our wardrobe options. Having a pair of Dry Lean Dean's, but looking for something plug and play and a little bit looser to style with boots, Anthony recommended the Gritty Jacksons and Hazy Hanks. Ultimately, went with the Gritty Jackson's, which was spot on what I was looking for. My girlfriend tried on the Clean Eileen's and immediately fell in love as the wash and the fit were exactly what she was looking for. Though they didn't have the length inseam for my Gritty Jackson's, Joshua was kind enough to offer a same day hemming if we were able to stick around the area for an hour or so. Despite the mountain of repairs he had stacked up, Joshua came through and within the hour I was able to pick up my Jeans. Overall, as a first experience at an actual Nudies store, I'm thoroughly impressed (and enamored by) the store and it's contents. For our 6 year anniversary, my girlfriend thought it would be an awesome idea to do something from my interests; sourcing a pair of new jeans for each other. The first brand that came to my mind was Nudie Jeans. I've broken in different pairs from Naked & Famous to Imperial Jeans (RIP), but the brand that started it all for me was Nudie! For the longest time, Nudie Jeans in my opinion has been that brand with the most transparency and authenticity, and it really reflects with the people behind the brand. From the start, staff at the Los Angeles location provided exceptional service. If my girlfriend and I are going to spend good money on an article of clothing, the sensical thing would be to try everything on before making a decision. Josh (Store Manager) was with us every step of the way with finding which fits we were looking for and (especially) the right size, which is imperative to get right so that your jeans will fit you as best as possible as your body changes over time. He was meticulous with explaining the amount of stretch and shrinkage our jeans would go through as we wear them and how we wash them. Josh went above and beyond with ordering multiple sizes of jeans for us to try on to get the best fit possible before making a decision. He also made the best recommendations as far as weight and color of fabric. We ended up ordering a Tuff Tony Dry Ace Selvage for myself and a Clean Eileen Classic Blue for my girlfriend, and we could not be happier with our purchase! The amount of confidence in having chosen the right jeans from us is all thanks to the staff at the Los Angeles location. We had such an enjoyable experience learning more about the brand, the personal experiences of these jeans with the staff, and ultimately deciding the best pair of jeans that we know will last a long time (thanks to the "free repairs forever!"). We've already started wearing them and they already feel at home. I can't wait to see how our jeans will take character over the years to come, and hopefully when we're ready for the next pairs, Nudie will have come out with a Dry Ace Clean Eileen!! This review is more for the store than for the jeans/clothing itself. The first time I came here, the store was closed and there was a note that said, "be back in 10 minutes." I waited 30 minutes for the employees to come back with coffee in hand. 2nd time - drove by on a Sunday during their "open" hours and they were closed. 3rd time - closed again and there was a note on their door saying they were going to be closed for "a couple of weeks" because they were undergoing construction. There wasn't any visible construction going on. Tried calling and there is no message about how they were under construction. It just led directly to their fax line. 4th time - it was about a week after our 3rd attempt and to my amazement, they were actually open. And no, there weren't any changes to their store. I am not sure how this place manages its staff but it is ridiculous. If you need to fix your Nudie jeans, the company does it for free. I did like the the store and initially liked the jeans. I bought two pairs of jeans six months and both ripped in the last month. I called to see if i could get them repaired and the said come on in. When i went in they were out of the store. So then I called a couple days later and they said we will be here all day. I explained i needed two pairs of jeans repaired. They told me to come in. When I came in they said it would take 5 weeks to repair. My question is isn't that something you would tell a customer before coming in. Clearly understaffed, clearly overpromise quality. Clearly just use the free repair service as a selling point. 5 weeks is a very long time. Maybe they should hire more people if they are charging $300 for a pair of jeans that will break down over 6 months. Essentially a scam in my opinion. This review is about this store location as I agree with others I've been here in the past several times to find they aren't open or closed when they are meant to be open and same issue with the phone. However for anyone who has been trying to figure out what happened they are now located on La Brea and have a new number and I have NO idea why they haven't updated their customers on this move! I am a guy who is OK with shopping but not super in to exhaustive marathon shopping. Also, I am sick of low waisted super skinny jeans where any time you move, your butt crack pops out. In addition, I do not want my balls to feel like they are in balls jail ...but low waisted seems to also mean higher crotch, which is too confining. If balls jail is your thing, I respect that but I want my balls to be free from low waisted high crotch vice grips. My balls, my right. I feel like Even APC Raw New Standards have gone more in that direction, with smaller pocket bags and a seemingly lower waist as well as lower quality denim between a pair I bought 5 years ago and a fresh pair in the same size when put side by side (but it is really hard to tell because of my sikfadezbro). So, I was looking for a new pair of go to jeans and my jeansfriend (you don't have a jeansfriend?) recommended Nudie because he wears Nudie dries 24/7 and never washes them and it is this great thing everyone should do and he has literature and pamphlets about it and he goes door to door to try to convert everyone to dry selvedge jeans and it is totally not gross or anything he swears (even though he has like 8 crotch repairs on a pair that is 1 year old, hmmmm). I was kind of incredulous that I would find anything higher waisted that was raw, dry, and selvedge but also not some weird wide leg jeans or bootcut bullshit. I had this specific idea---higher waist, tapered leg to the point of almost pegged but not skinny leg so it looks like I am wearing tights, and higher end selvedge raw dry denim. I told all this to the really cool lady working that day in the boutique and was out of there quicker than it probably took you to read this. My only regret is not buying the black dry selvedge in the same fit. I have Iron Hearts and APCs and other high end denim but I really only wear my Nudie Dries 90% of the time. Last, I am basically a 34/32 and have been for almost 20 years. The thing is, nothing ever fits that simply. In some skinny skinny brands, I will size up to a 36/30. In other brands, or stuff with stretch, I will go down to a 32/34. With Nudie, I did notice, I am a 32/30. I was a real 32 in like 8th grade, which is fine...but just for the record in case you are trying to figure this out, in APCs, I will do 32s in New Standards, or 34s if I want them a bit baggy. In Iron Heart 301s, I wear a 34 and they are tight. With the Nudies, I am a 32 for the Brute Knut fit. Thank you Nudie LA!! read more

I have been wearing only Nudie jeans for 10 years now. I was thrilled when I moved to L.A. to find out that their was an actual Nudie Jeans store right down the street from me. This review is for the customer service at the store not the quality of the jeans. So for the past five years for my birthday, I have gone into the store to buy myself a new pair of Nudies as a gift to myself. The selection in this store has been fine but there is always something missing from this experience - customer service....any level of customer service. Every year I go in and every single time I leave feeling disrespected. I feel like I am bothering the salesperson if I am asking any questions with an eye roll or slight heavy sigh. They are never helpful, super condescending and just have an overall "too cool for school" attitude. This happens every year... five years in a row!!! For instance, this year I went back again hoping that the new person behind the counter would be friendly and helpful this time around. I really go in with my best foot forward. Nope. This lady actually rudely told me not to touch the jeans on the shelves and she said will help me grab what size I needed. The problem was she was also helping out another customer so I didn't have time to wait around for her to pick out my size. I've been here before and can easily pick out a pair of jeans without disorganizing the rest of the meticulously stacked denim. If I'm about to drop 300 dollars on a pair of selvage jeans I would expect just a friendly face and some level of courtesy from the salesperson. It has actually been an inside joke now with my friends that I have to put up with super sh*tty service once a year for the love of my favorite pair of jeans. Like other reviewers, I'm a big fan of Nudie Jeans as a brand, but this location really is lacking from a customer service and general attitude standpoint. I've been to this location twice - once to drop off some jeans for alterations, and again to pick them up. Both times I was there, the store was manned by the same associate. She had a very strong vibe of preferring I never came in, like my being in the store was a hassle. There was absolutely zero friendliness. When we browsed the selection a bit, we got our only extra interaction - an exasperated "can I HELP you?" that seemed to be driven more by a desire for us to leave than to genuinely provide assistance. Both visits, I went out of my way to say "thank you!" before leaving and both times, the only reply we got was a silent glare, without even muttering a "thanks", let alone the usual "thanks for stopping by". As soon as we left, my girlfriend noted that it was probably some of the worst customer service she'd experienced and I had to agree. I get it, working in retail can suck and sometimes you don't want to deal with people, but that's not really an excuse to poorly treat people who aren't causing issues. I would give one star for the service, but will bump it to two because the company is good and their free alterations service did great work. Nudie should probably consider speaking to this associate/manager about her attitude, or finding a replacement. read more

The jeans are top notch, the best fit I've ever owned, so let me start with that. But, this store is staffed with some very uncharismatic, hipster snobs. When I walked in, they sized me up, dismissed me and were more interested in ordering lunch than helping me find a size. I ended up just helping myself and figuring it all out on my own. I bought two pairs of jeans, but I will never go back again, because I felt so unwelcome by the tragically unimpressed staff. Next time I'm going to Barneys or Nordstrom, or online. A sincere note to the Nudie management team: I love your organic/green principles, and fair wages philosophy, but think about this... Your company holds to those ethics because they ultimately lead to human happiness. How about making sure that your good karma philosophy also includes those whom you hire to represent you at your stores? Truely, the best pair of Jeans I wear is my Nudie Thin Finn. Still in the process of breaking into my jeans, damn best pair of jeans I've ever worn in my whole life! I'm ready to throw out all my non-Nudie Jeans, and start my Nudie collection... About the store. I think they're open primarily on the weekends for shoppers to check out Jeans and learn about Nudies. The store carries Jeans, shirts, jackets, belts, wallets and I think a few more accessories. I haven't bought anything yet, but I've hung out at the store a few times, and I just love it! The store has major plans in the works, and will just keep getting better. Check them out if you're in the area, or if you love Nudie's (or just into raw selvage denim). You will not be disappointed. Parking in the area is easy. Edinburgh has plenty of street parking (just watch for street cleaning signs), and some meters out in front of Nudie's. read more

I have an Average Joe cut as well as a Thin Finn and they are both my absolute favorite pairs of jeans in my rotation. The store is awesome and the staff are friendly. It's more like something you would expect to find near Abbot Kinney in Venice rather than off Melrose, but regardless you should check them out. The staff can tell you all about the Nudie Jean philosophy and practice and even how to get the most out of your denim. The only drawback is they price themselves so far in the luxury jean market that a lot of people can't get the Nudie experience. Bummer :( read more

Yes they don't have the biggest selection. Yes their prices are sometimes more expensive than online. But they give really good advice, advice which Nudie novices need to hear about the different cuts and fits. Also, they're very patient with people trying on 20 different pairs of jeans. And they do a great job hemming and repairing your beloved Nudies. The guys are really laid back and friendly. Also, you should call them and if they don't have your size or style, have them order it for you and get it by the next shipment (usually a week later). I stopped by right before open at 11 AM on a weekday & waited 15 minutes until I left- no one showed up & the gate/door was locked. I called ahead the week before to confirm they'd be open this particular day. I'm mostly writing my review about the above and beyond customer service I received from Julian. My dry cleaners shrunk and faded my bf's favorite pair of jeans. I'm the one who picked that place so I felt responsible they got ruined. On top of it we are leaving for vacation and Nudie jeans are not only his favorite, but are one of the only jeans that fit him perfectly. (He is tall and thin and Tight Long Johns are perfect as they are skinny with a low waist. I couldn't find the right style or size in any of the department stores near me so I called the Nudies store in LA. Julian not only did a phone order for me, but made sure the jeans got to me overnight since I was leaving on my trip. Great service and really good jeans also. Thanks!! read more

Sales person was super helpful and informative. Great selection and they had sizes and styles you'd normally wouldn't find at bloomingdales/nordstroms/barneys. I recommend stopping here first if you're not sure what fit suits you or you don't know your size versus ordering online if you don't already own a pair. I love everything about Nudie Jeans. That being said, this store was incredibly disappointing. I mean, honestly, it was somewhat pathetic. No wonder they don't have any pictures of the inside of this store on their website. It's almost laughable compared to the others you find oversees. So, if you're reading this, you should call prior to heading out there to see if they have what you're looking for in stock and if they have it in your size. Chances are that they don't have it so save yourself some time and call. Then proceed to order online if need be. As someone mentioned earlier, they don't carry a bunch of stuff you can find online. Especially the newer merchandise. My sister and I were the only ones in the store (for about 10 minutes) and neither one of the workers greeted us or asked if we had any questions. They were talking about their plans for the evening and couldn't care less about providing descent service to their customers. I eventually asked if they had a specific jacket I was looking for and neither of the two had any idea what I was talking about. I was looking for the Julius Fisherman's jacket and they thought I was looking for some outdated Fishtail. Really guys? I know every single item on the NJ website and you apparently don't. Considering the limited amount of merchandise this company carries, there's really no excuse for not knowing this kind of stuff. I love the brand and I've been wearing nudie jeans for more than 10 years now. The customer service at their flagship store is a catastrophe and it's really changed my opinion about the brand. The staff is extremely rude and unknowledgeable. I brought my dog one time and despite the fact that he's a service dog with full certification I was asked to leave. They do sell their branded jeans here, but I haven't purchased anything here yet, but in the near future I plan to do so. :) As an avid Denim aficionado I have many pairs of jeans across many brands. However I never came across a brand unique as Nudie jeans, and it's a good thing. Being a raw denim freak I rotate quite a few Nudie jeans in my rotation. As everybody knows wearing raw denim will need repairs in the future. So when few of my Nudie jeans in the rotation got tears, I took it into the store for their "free repair services", to get it patched up. I was greeted by friendly staff and it was very painless and simple procedure. You turn in your damaged denim to the staff, (make sure you wash it before you give it to them.) and they give you a ticket where you put your information. After that you just wait for their courtesy call. It might takes some time for them to get your jeans fixed, but for being free I can't complain. When I got my jeans back the repairs were done in a very good way. I would recommend any Nudie jeans owner to come get their jeans fixed here, as they also hem the jeans for free with chain stitching. I love the way I am treated here, Alyssa and her team is A+++! I normally don't leave feedback much, but this experience certainly triggered me to do so. The amazing quality of their jeans is simply the exact opposite of their customer service. The sales person basically sat on the cashier table the entire time not only by neglecting his customers and also gave us this attitude that we were interfering with his job, which was sitting there, breathing. There were only 2 other people in the store so it was not busy at all and when we were about 7-8 mins in, he started to acknowledge our presence and ask if we needed help. If you like their jeans, simply order online and forget this place. To the store clerk, please do understand that people are dropping $200 on your denims, a proper sales etiquette is the lease you can produce in making the experience a better one.
