We made it out on a nice overcast day so it was not terribly hot outside. I think my favorite was Lovers on the Surf which was a cherry chocolate vibe. It was like drinking a Valentine. It was so good, we took some to go. This is definitely a nice spot to hit up when you're in the Corpus Christi area.

The thing is that they have interesting hours, which made it hard for me to go visit. And my only way of trying their beers has been exclusively, at the bar inside the Hilton Double Tree Hotel. Enter having Valentine's Day on a Friday, which opened up the possibility to finally visit it. One thing about downtown Corpus Christi is that it is small and therefore absolutely no parking is available. Making going to Rebel Toad a bit precarious. We were able to secure a spot in the front before it opened at 3 pm. Having passed by it before I thought it was much bigger but it is small inside. There are a couple of high tables and chairs, accompanied by counter seating. I believe the owners are a couple and they were very friendly. The taplist is seven-ish beers deep. Some places are weary about giving samples. They offered some with recommendations. But me, I opted for a flight. Their beers are good. I did enjoy their "Liquid Haze IPA" but I think it's laid-back vibe close to the beach is what I ultimately appreciated. In addition a really killer playlist of the 80's was in the background. Any place that plays "Depeche Mode" will get my patronage, all day. The parking situation leaves a little to be desired. And I think not having food or at least nearby options might be an issue for some. But not for me. I probably will come back here again. But I'd like to visit here at night. In my city of San Antonio the craft beer scene is a bit inundated at the moment. In my opinion the Corpus Christi craft beer scene is in its infancy and might remain there for awhile. Rebel Toad Brewing can only help build that community. Now if I can only get rid of my fear of the ocean caused by seeing "Jaws." Then again the city is so laid-back back, I'll probably run into him here. And the 1st round will be on him.

So in excited to day we were finally able to visit, and it happened to be first Friday where there were local vendors outside and the had a DJ too. They offered some really solid beers and had some that were a good nod to the local flavors also. The space is family friendly, and pet friendly in the outside area. Definitely a solid little brewery in corpus.

Bay Area Brewing Company is a small, cozy property with their delicious brewed beer. We enjoyed their Peach Better Have My Mango. Aside from being unique, refreshing and delicious, what a great, fun name! And that's the whole vibe with super kind staff, like Selena, and a yummy pretzel. They have a cool, shady backyard area with a stage, playground for the kids, and a HUGE rooster strolling around. And, the perfect atmosphere for our favorite guys, Boo and Poo. They are originally from Louisiana and play fun zydeco tunes, shared with great, fun chatter. They have a very strong presence in this area, with a loyal, large following . It was a great time and I strongly recommend the Brewery and the guys. I look forward to returning very soon. Truly, Les bons temps (the good times)!

I looked over the menu here beforehand and it seemed to have exactly what I was looking for. The place was nice and clean inside. I can't remember our waiter's name, but he did a great job. Drinks stayed full, and the kitchen had the appetizers and entrees coming out with perfect timing. Nothing felt rushed and we weren't sitting around waiting either. We started with the shrimp quesadillas. They were well filled and had great flavor. My wife tried a couple of different cocktails that I can't remember the names of. I know her second one had elderflower in it, and she really enjoyed both. I stuck with their Strawberry Blonde beer throughout the night. The strawberry flavor was a little stronger than I expected, but apparently not strong enough to stop me from having three of them. My wife ordered the crawfish étouffée, which she enjoyed and completely finished. I went with the Snapper Pontchartrain, and it was incredible. I highly recommend this dish. I had the hobo potatoes and broccoli slaw for my sides. The hobo potatoes weren't quite what I expected, but they were fine. That broccoli slaw, though, was delicious. I definitely recommend giving this place a try. Solid service, tasty food, and I always appreciate a local spot brewing its own beer. Support local, y'all.

I just want to say that this place went ABOVE & BEYOND for my wife's graduation afterparty. We had decorations that we requested to be set up upon arrival to surprise our graduate and they set-up the tables beautifully and delivered! Our server, the tall gentleman with glasses (his name starts with an "A"), was absolutely INCREDIBLE and so attentive despite having numerous parties at once. The management was also so incredibly kind and catered so well to my families requests despite them being busy. On top of everything, the food was brought out so quick & was delicious. And so were the drinks! My father-in-law actually said he would drive an hour an a half just for the burger. My family was very happy and satisfied with our trip to BJ's in Corpus Christi and we will be regularly visiting this location in the future. I just have to say thank you, thank you, thank you for making this day so special for my family and I. We love you!!

And the manager we spoke to went above and beyond to make sure not only we were ok, but she was checking on so many tables and was in the back helping the kitchen. I'm sorry to her that we had these issues while it was so busy. Also the ambiance was excellent. Beautiful decor very simple yet elegant. I wish I tried the beer but i was upset and not hungry anymore. Story Time: we came to the restaurant ordered a lot of food. They had a sign on the table for the happy hour from 3 to 7 after we had ordered off of that happy hour menu we had found out that that menu is for the bar and patio it is not for dining. my chicken parmigiana with spaghetti had a long black hair in it which confused me because the man who brought it to me had like no hair. I had told our waitress about the hair and just asked for it to be taken off our bill that was the end of that conversation because she never came back to our table for the rest of the night which was about 45 minutes to an hour of us being there. The manager was kind enough to offer us not only the buffalo sliders, but she also asked if we wanted one of their famous pazookies which was of course phenomenal. Overall, the experience wasn't terrible I'm writing this so the situation will actually be followed up on. When the manager had brought our bill over. Again, our server was dealing with her other three tables so she was apparently too busy. So the manager was our correspondence that's when we found out about the specials but we had asked the manager a server our server who i went to ask for a box. And then we had to ask another server for a box and she brought us a bowl. All of this while our server was purposefully, avoiding our table going out out of her way, physically to not have to walk next to our table which was near the bar. She walked around other sections so that she didn't have to walk past us to go to the table that was behind us.
