I was so embarrassed at my event when everyone went to eat, I was so surprised that the chicken wasn't there. I ordered several whole chickens (which was the main part of the order). I did not notice it was missing until everyone started to eat. This was so embarrassing as everyone only had rice and salad to eat since the meat was missing. This is not the first time I ordered for an event and they messed up my order. Genesis, the owner daughter was super rude about it and did not take full accountability. She said it was the delivery drivers fault, which has nothing to do with me since they are the restaurant delivery driver. To make matters worse, I was promised a resolution and it never happened. I didn't even get a refund for the chicken I never received. See attached pictures of my conversations with the owners children. I was told by the son that they are taking accountability and will resolve the matter either with a refund or another order but then he went ghost and started to ignore me. They basically stole from me! SIDE NOTE: I won't ever spend my money here again. I learned that the food recipe changed since the old owners moved- which makes so much sense to the blandness of my recent meals. I'll start to support the old owners new business and won't ever spend my money here. read more

I found this gem a truly little place, it's what they call a hole in the wall!!! Wow!! The aroma goes outside and drags you into a place like no other!! The decor is of the Dominican Republic is the island of Espanol in the Caribbean Sea, True Authentic Dominican food, flavors and music!!! The service was upbeat and welcoming, they get five stars on service also they are following all COVID-19, the food came out quickly and plated beautifully. This place never disappoints. My sisters and I come to catch up in this around the way joint. The restaurant seating area made a little upgrade so it's quaint and comfortable for convo. The service is always good and accommodating. With our broken Spanish, we are able to communicate our needs. I love the owner, such a sweet lady. the last visit, it was freezing in there and I could see everyone shivering lol. Got some mangu from this spot for breakfast and it was very good. Mangu was ver creamy and fresh and went while i was there waiting for my food so i was very lucky to get any and it was only 1130 in the morning and they were all out of food. I had to inform them i wanted fresh eggs because i like my eggs runny with. mangu and they tried to give me a dry egg. received a piece of sausage and sliced white fried cheese. the portion given was more than enough and the service beside the egg mishap was spot on. this place is know for their rotisserie chicken but now i will be visiting more for early breakfast read more

Authentic Caribbean Latin food at very reasonable prices. My only complaint is that the place should have been made over years ago and given how much business they do it's almost an insult to the customers. That being said everything I've tried there has been great. I especially love the "Rabo Encendido" - Stewed Ox Tail. The roasted chicken is also something I would highly recommend. Expect ok service and since it's in one of the poorest neighborhoods in the Bronx you should probably keep your expectation lows. If you're looking for great Spanish food at a very good price this is the place! My personal favorite is the steak with onions with white rice and red beans (Bistec Encebollado). The servings are huge and the food is absolutely delicious! I only gave it 3 stars because the space where you eat is cramped and the waitress is always very inattentive. Also the music from the jukebox is usually way too loud and the area is very ghetto. However, I somewhat understand, because the space is cramped and PACKED with Bronx peeps needing their chicken and rice AHORA!!!! I used to work down the block which is how I know of this place. The best find in the area by far, and that's saying a lot because Pollo Al Carbon is very prevalent around the neighborhood. The chicken is cooked perfectly and spiced to intoxication. I almost fainted a few times from the rice and the garlic sauce. No, really. It has so much MSG that I got dizzy a couple of times after lunch. But it's sooo good and the portions are gigantic so you can save some. And it's super cheap! Over-the-phone ordering can be tricky if you don't speak Spanish, so be forewarned. Also, sometimes they randomly run out of avocado. But if they have it, you should try the salad with avocado, beets, and corn. A good healthy way to start off your meal of sin. Also? Some friends of mine have ordered breakfast sandwiches here with sausage and egg, and have loved it. BONUS: AMAZING Dominican coffee. Strong and sweet. read more

The amount if time the food takes guaranteed it was prepared fresh , but my sister who chose a dish they were out of , said well I'll just have some chicken and rice. So before our food was done I guess the waiter just wanted to get it over with brought some chicken from the hot box that looked done for hours. The rice was fantastic though. It's take me over 15 years to get around to writing this review, more than overdue, don't you think? So, I am a local and have been coming here as long as I can remember. In the past few years the sign has been replaced, but not too much else has changed. I can remember cutting class to sit in the stairs on Marion Ave. eating one of their Cuban sandwiches, one of the best I've ever eaten to this day. This is a place hidden in plain sight, but well loved among residents and workers in the neighbor for eat-in OR take out. The chicken here is a tad less salty/flavorful than I remember, but that could also be because NYC has been cutting down on transfer, MSG, etc. over the past several years. Still, $5 for a savory half a chicken is no bad deal. I most recently ordered one to go and ate it at the park across the street one evening after work last week. I honestly cannot say I've ever had anything bad here and anybody I've brought here has enjoyed the food. I love their chicken and Cuban sandwiches, but also the rice and beans, plantains--sweet and salty, steaks, and desserts. I've passed many a weekend afternoon/early evening with my late mother's here, who also enjoyed it. My advice to owner/manage my? If it's not broken after 15-20 years, don't fix it, and keep on doing what you do. I'm hoping this place stats around for another 15-20 and beyond. read more

The order said 45 minutes to an hour even though I'm 10 blocks away on the Concourse. 90 minutes later I'm on the phone with them. 30 minutes into the call I get the restaurant manager who tells me "The delivery guy left with my food along time ago, he got on the highway and got lost." I ordered the boneless chicken chucks; It came with yellow rice, beans and a salad. I thought it also came with sweet banana but with a bill of almost $22, I'm doubting it. Now for the taste. The chicken chunks were good but a little salty. The beans were very salty. The rice on the other hand was very good. No sodium shock from the rice. The sweet bananas were basic, nothing special and the same for the micro salad (no special dressing either). My mother in-law had the bacalao. Oh boy, the faces she made while eating it was priceless. She was so upset with the amount of salt in the fish. She was completely ill from the sodium shock she just experienced. Conclusion, if you're a firm believer that you should taste nothing other than salt in your meal then this is the place for you. Maybe it was the food we choose or just the wrong day but something as basic as beans; shouldn't be so salty. If you're looking for knock your socks off Spanish food, I can't Recommend this restaurant. The staff were amazing and everyone was friendly but my first food experience wasn't pretty. Came here last night in a drunken stupor for a pick-me-up. My drunken-self loved the chicken rice and bean dish. It was really delicious and they served us fairly quickly. I am a big 3way fan ! Every time I order they greet very pleasantly. The food is always delivered on time and it does not cost too much. I recommend the morrirsonando here it is very flavorful and one of the only reasons I order sometimes . The pastelitos are very good here another hit of mines but my favorite I would have to say is the mofongos here. They also have a really amazing tres leches cake to finish you off if your into desserts. When the food arrives it is very neat and presentable nothing spilled . Ever!!! *My review is solely for delivery takeout only* I have never gone in person to eat so I cannot speak on what the dine in is like. I usually order from this restaurant via Grubhub or on my Yelp app. I would recommend ordering the food online if you are ordering takeout because they usually don't answer the phone when I try to call. Now my second point my reasons for having to call, sometimes they take longer than an hour to deliver and also they have got my order wrong a couple times. Instead of feeling frustrated because they don't want to pick up their phone I use the app and let the Customer Service Reps deal with that. Much faster, efficient and convenient for you lol. It is a shame that I can't give them more stars because the food is always flavorful, fresh and delicious. But due to their track record of taking forever to deliver my food and being unreachable during business hours 2 stars docked...Also delivery guys at least get out of your fucking car and walk to the door of my building ..just make some sort of effort instead of sitting in your car and handing me my food while expecting a tip regardless. read more
