One of the main problems I…read morehad with this practice is that I had to always wait a minimum of an hour or more when I had an appointment. This would include being in the waiting room, as well as the examining room. The strange thing is, there was never really anyone else in the waiting room with me; maybe two people at the most. When I finally got to see one of the doctors - Dr. Klaasen, he seemed to be fairly relaxed and friendly. For the most part, he seemed to be able to diagnose and attend to my medical needs, although sometimes he seemed disorganized as far as being able to review my medical history prior to and during my visit. Finally, I was not very happy recently when I wanted him to see my son as a new patient because he is getting old enough to go to a regular doctor instead of a pediatrician. Since most of my family had seen the doctor over the years, I assumed that he would take him in as a patient. Au contraire. I was informed by a woman in the front office that he is not taking new patients. She said she will ask the doctor and would call me back. When she called me back, she said he would not be able to accept my son as a patient. It was very annoying and made me question their businesses name : Greenwood FAMILY practice. I even tried to reason with the woman by informing her that my daughter who does not live in this area anymore would not be seeing him again, or at least anytime soon,..... SO I logically thought that my son could take her open place/position. The woman quickly rejected my suggestion before informing and asking the doctor about that scenario. She then quickly tried to end the call. It was not professional whatsoever and very unsympathetic. I am probably done with this practice overall. I guess that would be another opening that they will never be aware of; or more so, take advantage of.

They recently moved from Madison Avenue to E. Countyline Rd, in Greenwood located conveniently across the street from the new Costco. They are part of the Franciscan Physician Group. Note their new name is now Madison Family Medicine (previous name was Madison Avenue Family Practice). I paid a recent wellness visit to my primary care physician, Dr. Shelley Stiner, DO, who practices at this facility. Upon arriving at their beautiful new location, I found the facility to have a large waiting area with plenty of seating, magazines and flat screen TVs to enjoy while waiting for my appointment. The staff has always been very friendly from the front desk to the nursing assistants. Dr. Stiner always listens carefully to my concerns and offers healthy alternatives to prescriptions where possible. She is very pleasant and professional. I have always had short wait times on all of my visits and scheduling for appointments or a referral has been very easy when working with their office staff. Lastly, I love their "My Chart", web portal....you can schedule appointments see your past visits, Billings, request a prescription refill and various other things related to your healthcare experiences. They have an excellent response time to their emails that have been submitted to this portal. After each visit I receive an emailed survey of my most recent visit to complete if I choose to do so. I have always seen Dr. Stiner, but I believe they have at least one nurse practitioner and possibly more and other doctors available. For this large of facility I'm sure they have to have other physicians, but I don't have that information. Actually as I was walking out the door I saw sign for a new physician. (See photo attached) If you are ever in need of a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, I highly recommend giving Dr. Stiner a try if she is accepting new patients. I have been with her for approximately 1 1/2 years due to my doctor retiring and wanting to try a DO for my healthcare needs. Due to her high demand, I had to wait initially about six months until she was able to accept a new patient. (I had to keep calling every so often to see if they were accepting new patients). I hit it lucky I guess and on one call was told she was taking on new patients. At this point in time, I'm very happy with their services and the new location of this practice. Review #28 08/11/16

I drive a hour to and from just to see him, that's how good of a Dr he is. Calming and consistent ,this is how Dr's should all be. Dr Majid thank you for treating me and make me feel better. Spacious and comfortable waiting area and friendly, welcoming front office staff. Looks like the complex is pretty new and I can see that they recently moved in so everything is well maintained, it does feel like new. Didn't interact much with the rest of the staff beyond the nurse practitioner and Dr. Mooney, but was impressed. Even though Dr. Mooney was running behind, they were very communicative of the situation so I wasn't just sitting without any information. New patients get a binder with really helpful information and a little more "get to know you" information than I've gotten with previous doctors, which made the visit a little more personable even though it was my first visit. Bonus points is that they do have a walk-in lab on site, so if you choose to get labs done here you don't have to go far!

I encountered Dr. Vallabhaneni during my recent hospitalization at St. Francis Hospital, part of…read morethe Franciscan Health System. Dr. Vallabhaneni, who often goes by the abbreviated "Dr. V," was part of my inpatient team of doctors treating a variety of concerns and served as my internal medicine doctor during the majority of my stay until it changed in the last 3-4 days - I believe she was headed on vacation and, as such, my last few days were actually under a different physician. Dr. V is part of the practice of Indiana Internal Medicine Consultants, a Greenwood-based practice that seems to primarily work through Franciscan. I have not dealt with them in terms of outpatient and my entire experience with Dr. V was during my inpatient stay. You could tell that Dr. V has the respect of the staff of the unit where I was treated, which was 4 South in the Cardiac Center. Staff members were quick to compliment both her knowledge and bedside manner. They correctly predicted that I would appreciate her as I am big on customer service and communication, both areas in which Dr. V would prove to excel. Dr. V visited my unit daily - most often in the mid-to-late morning hours. She was serious, yet always smiled and I was constantly impressed with her willingness to take the time to explain concerns, test results, diagnostic concerns, and any new or unresolved issues. She didn't just tell you things, but she ensured that you actually understood what she was telling you and what it meant for you and your care. She was, by far, the most communicative of the physicians who worked on my case and she had a way of communicating that made me feel like she was listening to me and that I was in good hands with her. I also appreciated that she had a very even-keeled demeanor. She would talk about serious issues, but she didn't do so in a way that panicked you. You took her seriously, but she made you feel safe in her care. I was also impressed that she was aware of my financial concerns. While I'm insured, as a person with a disability I have in the past experienced severe financial distress because of my health and she understood this and made sure to always let me know that the team was making sure that anything ordered was actually approved by insurance. I didn't have to ask her about these concerns - she understood they were there and addressed them upfront. Again, she worked very naturally to keep me calm and engaged in my recovery from a serious illness. I was disappointed when Dr. V left my case as it felt like the quality of my internal medicine care did drop and I didn't get the quality level of communication from the replacement physician. Dr. V is simply an absolute gem - she's incredibly knowledgeable and knows how to communicate that knowledge in a way that is simple, user-friendly, and accessible. She's compassionate, personable, and very interactive. She takes the time needed to listen, understand concerns, and explain her own concerns. While I don't live near Greenwood, she's definitely a doctor I would return to again and I really appreciated her compassionate, knowledgeable care as I dealt with serious health issues. She provided quality care in a way that made me feel safer and less anxious about the entire ordeal.
