Issues were threefold: - Eric basically represented and used a facility that does its own direct auto transport. When questioned (because they were cheaper) he highlighted his business as better due to a number of factors. None of these ended up coming to fruition. - the Rando he got to transport my car was horrible. Lack of communication or updates. Ended up delivering the car two or three days later than promised (meaning I missed being able to inspect the car). And throughout the process was full of lies regarding arrival time and why he wasn't delivering on time. - car was damaged during transport but because I was out of town for 2 months after the fact and wasn't able to confirm and share this with Eric (because it was delivered late) I had no recourse for costs to fix the damage. - finally, In reviewing his end of year books, Eric got confused about a voided transaction (I had been charged twice initially and there was a void in his books). He assumed that it was me doing it due to my dissatisfaction and charged my credit card again without confirming the issue with me. He left messages while I was in a meeting and then charged my card without confirming. When I called, he apologized for his angry action but for someone who highlights professionalism amongst his traits, I feel this was way out of line. I was going to just leave things as is and not write a review and leave things as they were in August but given the action he took today I felt compelled to warn others.

Adam was referred to me by a recruiter through a mutual acquaintance. To reserve transportation for two vehicles, he required a $600 deposit, which I paid approximately six weeks in advance. Throughout that time, he repeatedly assured me that everything was on track. However, he ultimately failed to secure transportation for either vehicle. As a result, we were left scrambling to make last-minute arrangements. During the process, I felt I was repeatedly misled with assurances that the transport would be handled, when in reality no carrier had been secured. More than a week after the scheduled pickup date, only $200 of my $600 deposit was refunded, along with promises that the remaining balance would be returned. Those promises were not fulfilled. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Adam Yoslowitz or Travelers Auto Transport. If you are relying on a broker to coordinate a time-sensitive vehicle shipment, I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere.

We needed to have a Toyota Camry brought out from the East Coast to California and I found Montway based on a suggestion from ChatGPT, which was in turn based on reviews it had aggregated from online. To be honest I was expecting to encounter some form of hassle but I never did. I've read reviews on google that said it was difficult to get human support but I don't know why those people had that experience because I had to call them about a half a dozen times with different questions and I got a human being who answered my questions clearly and succinctly every time. Yes they have an AI chatbot that was never able to help me with anything but it only took 30 seconds to get past it to a person so that was never a problem for me. There were no tricks to their pricing, they were totally flexible when I changed the pick up location to a completely different state and didn't charge me any more for the change. The driver was fantastic and really worked with us to coordinate pick up and drop off. The drivers are private contractors so I can't say if they are all equally good but our guy (Jay) was great. I would for sure use this company if I had to transport a car again.

Contracted delivery window blown by over two weeks, no timeline, no accountability…read more Liberty Moving & Storage (Commack, NY), acting as agent for United Van Lines (Order #U0360-60071-6), loaded our full household shipment on June 30th for a cross-country move from New York to Phoenix. Our binding Bill of Lading contractually guaranteed delivery between July 6th and July 15th. It is now nearly four weeks after pickup and well past the contracted window, and we received only a partial delivery. The remainder, including irreplaceable artwork, our family's heirloom dining table, and multiple televisions, has been sitting in Liberty's own Commack warehouse this entire time with no confirmed delivery date. When we asked why the contracted window was missed, we were told the binding dates were merely "standard transit guidelines." When we asked about compensation for the delay, we were told our shipment didn't qualify for their delay claim program, a claim they could not substantiate with any actual tariff provision when asked directly. Most recently, our written requests for a firm delivery date have gone unanswered entirely. This is not what a binding delivery window on a signed, paid contract is supposed to mean. If you're evaluating Liberty Moving & Storage or United Van Lines for an interstate move, ask hard questions about what happens if your shipment doesn't fit on the first truck, because in our experience, the answer is silence and your belongings sitting in their warehouse indefinitely.

Car Handlers. What's your most valued possessions? Family heirlooms? Jewels? For me, it's my classic cars. Who do you trust handling your items? When it comes to trust in Auto Transpo, there's a lot of scammers involved with just as many horror stories from the unfortunate scammed. I was almost a victim of this. I researched some companies to get contact info. However, I didn't research the reputations generously shared by the online reviewer community. Fortunately, my first choice fell through because the nice lady with another car mover, decided to change my form of payment from credit, to cash, after making the transport arrangements. This was the opportunity I needed to properly search for a company by their ratings. That's when I found, "Number 1 Auto Transport." First, they told me a firm price up front. This was $800 cheaper than the previous I almost dealt with. I realized how close I came to being ripped off as well as other disappointments from what I've read. Second, they arranged an accurate pick up/delivery schedule which is important to make meeting arrangements, (time off work, etc.). Third, they stuck to the contract. There were no surprises. Also, as I've read about other places. Considering my first attempts, I was very worried about this type of service. However, Number 1's handling of my car moves put me at ease. They were proactive from the pickup to the delivery. That is, communications and coordination with all parties. Also, important to me, is the right balance between transactional and polite communications. They're HQ'd in New York, but I always get more that a NY second of their time. Or, excellent phone etiquette? Yes. That's a better way of putting it. I always got out a complete question and, the secondary call for what I forgot to ask earlier, which happening to me more frequently these days. I wonder if they could train my workplace proper phone courtesy. Just note however, you're not getting away with chatting their ear off, they do have a complicated business to run. So, whether or not you choose Number 1, do your homework! There's definitely info-overload from reviewers, good and bad, but it's worth the study. Not doing so could be costly and disappointing. I am going to be as thorough as I can with my review. I shipped my car from Central Florida to California with help from N1 Auto Transport. I was planning to move to California very close to the new year, but understandably, no one likes to work during those days. Therefore, I decided to ship my car a couple weeks earlier. John Russo was extremely helpful and was fast to respond to my emails and calls. He found E & E Quality Transport to take my car for me. They showed up on time to pick up my car. We examined the car together very carefully, noting every minor paint chip damage on my car. They took the car, and stayed in touch, answering to my texts and calls all the time. We met in California for me to take delivery of my car. We started checking my car for any added damage and I was able to identify few chips and scratches added to my car. Up to that point, Eddy, who said he was the owner of the E & E, was a really nice guy. But when I pointed out the damage done to the car, he avoided taking responsibility and saying it was not their fault. This really made me upset. They gave me a 100 bucks off, which honestly, even so I'm sure I overpaid for the service. I agreed to the fairly high price in the first place because it was close to holidays and I just wanted someone to care for my car, which I don't think was the case. Another issue with E & E was that when they met me to take my car, I checked their insurance which was limited to 400K. Having seen two Mercedes S-classes in the cargo, one of which was an S63, my car, and another fairly expensive vehicle in there, I am pretty sure the total value of their cargo was above 400K. Note that they still had room for two more cars to take with them. After spending nearly 2K on shipping the car, and another grand to go to California just to take delivery of my car over there, I am left with a car that is chipped and damaged. Also, it hurts when someone you trust with your car, does not want to take responsibility of the damages done. Leo quoted realistic and competitive pricing as well as asking detailed questions regarding the vehicles ground clearance to ensure we chose the correct type of carrier for the delivery. The driver was right on time within a minute or two of the given ETA. Inspection photos were taken before loading the car and texted to my phone. The driver waited patiently as I inspected the car after unloading. The only thing I didn't like was that the driver had to climb through the drivers side window to gain access for unloading. He took care in doing so, but I was hoping the carrier was equipped with an access door to eliminate the need for climbing through windows. I'll be sure to request that in the future. Otherwise I am satisfied with the service and would use it again for sure. Tip: instead of using a service that has a million different ppl calling you with quotes. just email Leo@number1autotransport.com, He'll set it up right and quote you the lowest price that is realistic for drivers running that route. They all have access to the same drivers. If pricing is too low, no drivers will take the job and your car will sit. And you will have to wait till your contract period is up until you can begin looking for another carrier. Not to mention cancellation fees if you need to cancel sooner. read more

*** 1st online review ever *** Thank you doesn't seem like enough. James was the first of a never ending avalanche of calls from brokers. The call lasted 15 minutes or so. What I initially took as just some sales pitch, wound up being much more. It set me up in case I made a mistake. Indeed I did. See I went with another broker who sold me on "we have a truck in your area" and of how "their carriers give them the best rates". Well after my deposit was taken by the broker there was only crickets. No returned calls or emails.... Finally the broker says they needed another $225 to get me a truck fast. Well wouldn't you know it!!!! Basically the price quoted to me 10 days earlier by Number 1!!! So I called James. Not only were they able to honor their original price, he arranged a safe plan for my car since I had to leave it behind. My car was picked up less than 3 days from placing my order and delivered in just 5 days across the country. When a company like Number 1 says read the reviews.... Folks read them all!!! As we started researching carriers, my cell phone was bombarded with text messages and telephone calls from at least ten (10) transportation brokers. John with Number 1 Auto sent me an e-mail and detailed the process. He was my first and only call. What attracted me to this company was the level of detail provided, and their professionalism. There were no hidden fees. No small and fine print. The price was the price. John was personable and he was able to have the car delivered on time, at the exact location and with minimal interruptions in our very hectic life. Don't waste your time with anyone else but Number 1!! Marc was absolutely fantastic. It all started with him reaching out to me when I was already committed to another carrier. How many people would do that? And then to top it off, he spent 15 minutes answering my questions about why the other carrier quoted me too low a price and why my shipment hadn't happened and what was customary in the industry. He mentioned a few times that if I had used Number 1, I would have been driving my vehicle by now. Fast forward a few days and my 5 day experience and contract with the other carrier ended and failed, I reached back out to Marc. That was a Friday afternoon and I was frustrated. My vehicle was picked up the following Monday at lunch and driven 1300 miles and delivered on Tuesday afternoon ! I was blown away!! First rate communication. First rate honestly. I was very wary of having my car shipped from Santa Fe to Charlotte, NC. I read reviews for many companies and the results were not very good and there were so many horror stories. Then I found this company called Number 1 Auto Transport and they had 5-star reviews from yelp and google and 4.9 on Facebook. I figured that their prices would be much higher but they were very competitive! So I gave them my car and I'm thrilled with the experience!! They gave me a 3-day window for pick up and picked my car up on 2nd day. Then, they said it would be delivered within 3-7 days and it was delivered on the 3rd day. When I inspected the car it was in the same condition as when it left Santa Fe. It was about the smoothest transactions that I've ever had!! I can't say enough about this company. This is the first time I've ever been moved to write a review for anything and it's because they earned the 5 stars with their service and communication!!! This company is fantastic! Joe called me 5 minutes after requesting a quote on yelp for a trip from Houston, Tx to Erie, Pa on a Thursday afternoon. He had a final price and driver ready to roll within 10 minutes. Contract was signed and car was picked up the next morning (Friday) and I had it by Monday. This company is a gem. They do not flood you with emails and calls like other scummy places when you post your trip on general sites so make sure you reach out to them specifically. Can't reccomend them enough! Joe is the man and was in contact with me the whole way. He takes pride in the service he provides and wants you to have your car as fast as possible. I'm glad I'm Reading so many genuine reviews below Among many other brokers , I will tell you first hand I am one of Number 1's main drivers and they are by far the most professional, honest companies I do work for. Very diligent , never any extra leg work on my end . if you go online randomly and put your info you will get so many scam calls, you'll want to change your number. I thought that I should continue to shop around in search of a better price (also recommended when you are new to these services). This is my first time moving to another state and was not sure of the pricing structure. I have also learned that these companies operate as Brokers and use 3rd party movers. A good majority of them are not trustworthy. After learning that the quote USA Auto provided was most reasonable, I called back ready to book. I ended up speaking to a different agent who quoted me $200 LESS than the original Broker. Again, I was more than ready to book. But then the new agent learned of my original quote with his colleague and ended our call to speak with his partner. They original agent called me back telling me that the COMPANY cannot honor the lesser quote and that I am free to take my business elsewhere!! UNPROFESSIONAL and UNETHICAL! How is it that the same company quoted 2 different amounts and refused to honor the lesser? WHY? Because they are greedy and do not care to do honest business. One may say that $200 is not a big deal, but when a company is willing to throw your business away because they refuse to accommodate a customer then I was left with no choice but to go elsewhere! DO BETTER!

Moved from NYC to Florida, had 2 weeks left because another company left me in the dust. Saw the…read moregood reviews here and USA Auto Transport (their actual main company, same as Brooklyn Auto Shipping here on Yelp) had a fair rate and was able to ship my car for me. TL:DR; Terrible driver, absolutely terrible. I was under time constraints and couldn't wait to arrange another driver. Communication and coordination could have been better. The bottom line is they managed to ship the car and the company refunded the $100 tip the driver coerced out of me at the end, saying they will likely not be using the driver anymore. Long version: Making an appointment was very easy, Nick was friendly and made sure I was taken care of. I made sure to point out I have a 5" roof rack, but was assured it would be fine. Every point of contact told me the driver will call 1 hour ahead of time. Day of: pickup was scheduled for morning. I waited until 8pm when the angry driver finally called saying 'Meet me off exit 31 in 15 minutes, I'm four miles away!' No one said anything about driving 10 minutes out to meet him, and having just got in the shower after a day of packing (and waiting for his call), I asked if he couldn't pick up from my street. He just yelled 'I have an eighteen wheeler! Are you going to be at the exit or not?' -- I tell him, 20minutes, he gets mad, '20minutes?! It's 5 minutes from your house! Be there or I'm leaving!' Fine. I jump out of the shower, call the company and make sure I should go meet him. I get there, this angry small man hops out from the truck, starts yelling at me to take off my roof rack or else he's not responsible for my car. "ANYTHING can happen on the road. So you leave the rack on and I crush your car, not my responsibility okay?" Get in a tiffy, call the company, I agree to take it off and help him tie down the rack under my car. Worth noting the guy had to rev my car up the back of his truck like 6-7 times like he didn't know what he was doing ( even started recording just in case he flew off the truck ). Shadiest part: Before leaving he says "So you be there to give it something for the road right?" I say, "No you're dropping it off at my car repair shop. They're expecting you." He says "What! So who's going to give it something for the road? The roof rack is extra! I'm going out of my way to ship it for you, ANY thing can happen to it, it can get lost, fall off, stolen, it's a long road--ANY thing!" I ask him if $80 will make him happy. He says, "Make it over a hundred." Fine, I give him $100 so my roof rack gets doesn't "fall off on the road." Tells me he'll get there in 2 days on Friday. The shop's hours are 10-6 M-F. The company knew this, the driver knew this. Friday, they tell they're dropping off on Saturday. I talk to dispatch, they tell me "We called and spoke with Chris, he said it's fine and he'll be there." Saturday, my car gets dropped off. Monday, I stop by the shop. The owner said the driver called him on Saturday yelling "Be there in 13 minutes! I don't care, I have car. I need to drop it off." Apparently the machine shop next door was kind enough to receive the car. No one knows how my roof rack ended up back on my car, crooked and also pushing out my WRX's frameless windows. Chris said no one from Auto Transport even spoke to him. Amends: I call USA Auto Transport, tranferred to complaint dpt, super nice guy, John, listens to my story, tells me he'll push to remove the driver, starts the refund for my $100. 2 weeks later: I've been refunded $100, and hopefully that angry little dude isn't revving up anybody else's car for this company anymore. I give 3 stars but only for John from customer service being super courteous and immediately starting the refund process after I gave my sob story of being robbed by the driver. Otherwise, I'm not sure how to rate this company. Quick to respond and easy to get ahold of. Fast delivery, indeed. Fair rates. But dispatch who lied about arranging the delivery and a miserable driver who woke up on the wrong side of hell every day. Hopefully I never have to ship my car again. I need to just buy a house and stop moving.

They wait until 2 days before you want to ship to give you a price that you're then stuck with or you have to frantically search for someone last minute. They promised i could put in as many items in my vehicle as long as it was less than 100lbs and below the window line. this was a lie and despite being a lot less than 100lbs and below the window lines, I was charged extra at pickup or they wouldn't take my vehicle. When there was an issue and it really mattered to talk with my agent at freedom auto they did not answer and only texted saying their assistant would get with me asap - and then I never heard from either of them. I'm giving them 2 stars because they did get me a carrier within a week of asking without me having to schedule (basic duty of a broker) and they did send me text updates of the vehicle which came in handy at times. When I did get to talk with them they were nice people as well. This doesn't outweigh the fact that they are costly for not even needing the broker company, lie regarding shipping items in the vehicle, and disappear when you really need them or snag a problem. Summary: find a transporter instead of the broker to save yourself the money and the headache of using a third party middle man broker.

She offered to refund the $200 extra that I had to pay, which changed my review from 1/5 to 3/5 thanks to the considerate phone call and the refund. Review: I had a very unprofessional experience. The yelp reviews all seemed good and that's why I picked this company, but it was a bad experience that cost me time and money. I spoke with Kathleen who helped me set up the everything smoothly and I was given a "guaranteed quote" to transport my car from Long Island out west. I gave her a 4 day pick up window trying to ensure the pick up happens before I have to take my flight out. She said that sounds good and they would pick it up within that time range. After calls throughout the week, they finally told me one day before my flight (this was the last day of the pickup time range) that I would need to drop off my car to New Jersey (which is a 2-hour drive) and that it would cost $200 more to ship it. At this point, I had no choice but to agree with them. It was absolutely ridiculous to make me do 5-10% of the moving and to then increase the cost by $200 (or roughly 20%). The only positive was getting my car in 7 days, the driver was good.

I was so nervous about this shipment. I have such a busy job I didn't have time to drive my car halfway across the world. And for good reason. There are a lot of skunks out there. EATS educated me, they didn't talk crap about others, they didn't use phrenetic tactics to get me to commit... it was a good experience. I started to contract with another company, which was nothing short of fraudulent. They were pressuring me, I simply had a gut feeling that they were a mess. I called Empire, after speaking to over 15 companies. They immediately put me at ease with their sincerity and kindness. When you deal with honest people, you feel easy about it. I told the dude to think of me as his little grandmother and to treat me like that. He busted out laughing and said that he really wanted me to be happy and to provide a valuable service. I was and he did. Bottom line: If you want to be worried sick about your car for days on end, use another company. If you want to sign a contract that indemnifies the crap out of your vendor and not you, use another company. If you want to operate like you might have before there was Federal regulation on this industry, use another service.
