After another large auto transport company failed to pick up my vehicle during the promised pickup window (and they just kept telling me they wouldn't know when they would be able to), I was left scrambling and had to extend my rental car in California. I was even told they couldn't find a carrier in my area that could transport my car from Florida to California. After my experience, that clearly wasn't the case. I found out about Number One Auto Transport on Reddit after I saw some great reviews and filled out a form on their site Thursday night. On Friday morning James gave me a call (JAMES YOURE THE BEST!!!) & not even an hour after speaking with him, they had already found a carrier for me. They got to work immediately after our phone call, and my car was picked up that Monday (I first spoke with James on Friday). Since this was my first time shipping a vehicle, James took the time to explain exactly how the process works, listened to my situation, answered all of my questions honestly, and found me a great price (and locked in a carrier super fast). I never felt pressured or misled, I just felt genuinely taken care of. The carrier was fantastic, and both the company and the carrier were professional, responsive, and communicative throughout the entire process. My car arrived from Florida to California in perfect condition, exactly as it was when it left. After my experience with the other "big" company, i was really hesitant about putting trust into another company, but I'm glad i trusted this company. The competition out there is tough, and like he said quite often, not honest on their bids have already contacted approximately 12 different shippers. After spending a good deal of time getting quotes for delivering my Lexus from Nassau County, NY to Pompano Beach, FL, l decided to go with them. It was not based on price, as many others "low balled" and later had said their price quote "may change" based on certain factors, like gas prices etc. After speaking to James Ryan, he gave me a fair, set price promising no "surprises" and additiionally, his Rating was very high, of which, l felt confident about. From the moment of my initial inquiry, Marc R. responded quickly and provided me with details of the process and timing of the transport. He set reasonable timeframes and was upfront about cost, payment processing, insurance coverage, and transport time. Once I confirmed that I wanted to move forward, Marc immediately called the dealership and introduced himself, and explained what the dealership could expect from Number 1 when picking up the vehicle. Even the dealership was impressed! On June 6, 2023, I confirmed my intention to move forward and my car was picked up the same day from the Pacific Northwest region and headed to Texas! Rob from Number 1 stayed in contact with me and shared the expected delivery throughout the process and shared my driver's name. During this time, I experienced an unexpected death in my family and would not be in town at the estimated time of arrival of the car. I explained this to Rob and he reconfirmed that the car would make it to me on June 11, 2023. My driver, Dima, was great! He kept me updated a day before his arrival and on the same day of delivery, he told me where to meet him and he was punctual. When we arrived, Dima had the car off the truck, we inspected the vehicle, and we were on our way. Fast and efficient. While I am not one for long reviews, I find it necessary to share my experience if anyone is leery. I had the heebie-jeebies after talking to and corresponding with some of these transport companies. The other companies were grimy, overly aggressive in their approach, and spammed me with calls and texts with no details on how to professionally earned my business. Number 1 was the opposite. I honestly was a little suspicious about all of these good reviews, but after working with Number 1, I can safely say that they've definitely earned them. Saw James's post on Reddit, and he stayed on a 45 minute call to answer all of my questions, which was greatly appreciated. Was supposed to have my car picked up March 29th - April 3rd. Ended up getting picked up on April 4th (no worries) by Yuri (went by Vlad) from ABP Logistics. Super nice guy, kept me updated the entire time, and everything was done super legit. This company exceeded my expectations. This was my first car shipping experience and we were shipping my daughters car from PA to Denver. John was very honest about the process and set realistic expectations. My daughters goal was to have the car in Denver when she landed. We ended up shipping it on the last day of the window, which was Friday of Labor Day weekend. I was not optimistic. Outstanding! Shipped a cool Toyota Tacoma from Brooklyn to Santa Cruz CA...Marc was extremely professional on the phone and in the email, very patient in explaining how it would go. Everything went incredibly smoothly and well within all the timeframes he projected...the truck was picked up a couple of days after signing and basically arrived on the 6th day of a 6-10 day estimate for crossing the country. Fees all straight forward and upfront, no nonsense or trying to add on to the original quote. The only detail was they couldn't deliver to "the door" of the CA house as the car carrying truck is huge and can't get down some fairly ordinary streets/make turns so it was dropped off nearby, but that in itself was an enjoyable experience. This is my second review for Number 1 Auto Transport and one that is about two months overdue. I used Number 1 Auto Transport for a second time this past February. My experience with them was again perfect. Joe remembered me and made sure that everything would go off without a hitch. Joe told me exactly when my car would be picked up. The driver who picked up my car called to tell me when he would be coming and then again when he was close by. The driver who delivered my car did exactly the same thing. I initially hired a broker from U-Ship which posted my car transport for way too low on the trucker board. No drivers would pick up the car since it was posted so low. I cancelled with that company (which they made very difficult) and hired Number 1. Even though No 1 is located in NY and the car was in FL, it did not matter. The drivers like Number 1. The company ain't paying me a dime (like shady shady AutoStar 123 paying it to Transport Reviews) because Number 1 Auto Transport lives up to its promise and this company doesn't need to. Back to my review... I can only give an honest review on Joe because he is the only one I talked to and the one I dealt with. I have shipped my vehicles over the years 8 times and I have helped ship others' vehicles and have seen all kinds of hell break loose. I know the drill. I know how this transport stuff works. Not a dummy customer but at least with an intermediate knowledge to know who's smoking and releasing crack and nonsense on customers. I'm a business guy so yeah, heck, I smell what's foul and see who is bsing or not. If you are searching and trying to look for the lowest quote and go off of what many shady brokers will promise you with, then don't even bother listening to me and go ahead and see your car sit in your lot and witness the quote eventually sky rocket before your eyes and you'll end up regretting for not trusting genuine yelpers (or keep believing that your driver is still on his way to pick your car up...) Call Joe. Extension 201. I don't know this guy, never met, only talked and dealt over the phone but if we ever come across path, I am going to take him out for a drink to show my appreciation. Number 1 has given me a partial refund. I think they have earnestly tried to correct the gross neglect of the transporter. To their credit, they have apologized a number of times, and have discontinued using the Step by Step Auto Transport as a result of this incident. I wish none of this ever happened. Regardless of the value of the Porsche, I have always taken great care of the cars I have owned. So, it was not just an expensive car, but an extension of the value I place in motor vehicle ownership. I wish them the best! read more

Like most people, I had basically no idea what the process was regarding getting a car transported. After requesting an online quote, I received hundreds of emails, calls, and texts showing me prices. So the first inclination is to just call back whoever shows you the lowest number.
