The prices have rised over the years, but will pay a very good amount for a good portion of food. They do skimp on that shrimp though. The food is always good and the servings are large. I often go with a group of ladies for lunch. We often celebrate our birthdays there and they don't care if we decorate our table, bring our own cake and sit around and talk after. I tried Mei Garden about a week ago on a Thursday evening. The restaurant only had about two tables of people in it but the kitchen sounded busy and lobby area smelled very clean. I walked in to a woman behind the desk on her cell phone. I had to wait about three or four minutes for her to get off of the phone, so I took the time to review the menu because I hadn't visited before. When she got off of the phone she was pleasant and took my order. My husband and I left to grab a few groceries at the Walmart in the same plaza (approximately 25 minutes) and when I returned my order was already bagged and waiting for me. I ordered the chicken egg foo yung (which comes with gravy) with fried rice. The egg foo yung was fresh, had good flavor, and all of the patties were an even size. I was surprised, compared to other places I've ordered Egg Foo Yung from that these patties did have some dark meat. The gravy that came with it was a good consistency, like a classic brown gravy you'd get from an American Chinese restaurant, but it was a little bland (I always try my Chinese without soy sauce first and I did have to add a little bit to this dish). The fried rice was fresh and had egg and some vegetables. Overall I would go there again if we were in the area and probably just call ahead to bypass the wait for ordering. read more

The food portion here is just right. I've had quick lunches here at least 3 times already. A lot of their dishes are tasty, but some are just too saucy and you kinda get tired after a few bites (i.e. General Tso). Other than that, good americanized chinese food. The food is better than average storefront American-Chinese. The portions are good. The atmosphere is better than the average storefront chinese restaurant. It is actually light enough to see the food which actually looks good. The down side? It is family owned - sisters and brothers. I ordered Spicy fried rice with tofu about a week ago, my husband enjoyed it so much that he asked that I order the same thing again. When I ordered I made sure a said spicy fried rice with vegetables because that's what my husband likes. I drove about four miles from home to get his meal and of course 4 miles to get back home to a meal that was NOT spicy at all. I called Mei Garden and I was told "if you come back we can make it spicy for you." Poor customer service, wrong answer. You made the mistake of not making my order right and I have to come back out for you to make it right. No apology whatsoever! Not even we can offer a small discount on your next order for your inconvenience. The owner or manager very dry with a nonchalant attitude. You just lost my business. First, we're so grateful they're open during lockdown since so many restaurants have closed. We've used Mei Garden twice, the last time ordering online, which was easy to do, ready on time & packed up nicely for me. One note: there's no description of most of the dishes on the online menu. I ordered "Crispy Duck" & it was just that--fried pieces of duck. No vegetables, no sauce. I borrowed some vegs from other family members, but I wouldn't have ordered it knowing that's what it was. We thought the other dishes were fine. The chicken & cashews seemed very heavy on celery. The veggie spring rolls I thought I ordered turned out to be more like traditional egg rolls. I would definitely try Mei Garden again, but I'll make sure to ask questions before I order. read more

Always hot and its always fresh. It's literally a 1/2 mile from my house, so it's a can't miss call on a moments notice. Everything we've ordered is good. Portion sizes are good so there's always some leftovers. Really good for a storefront Chinese restaurant. read more

Above average food but phenomenally slow service. There was just one other customer in the restaurant when we stopped by on a Thursday night. We ordered, and then it took quite a while for soups and waters to arrive, and then we waited. And waited. And waited. Our food finally came after an inordinately long time. The best Chinese food I've found in my area. When my 9 year old niece comes to visit, she has three requests...Going to Sky Zone, going to my gym's pool and orange chicken from Mei Garden :) My favorites are their shrimp toast, the best wonton soup, shrimp & scallops w/garlic sauce and the Jalepeno chicken. BTW their wonton soup has chicken, shrimp, snow peas and more...is so good! I typically order delivery. The same gentleman has been delivering for at least 3 or 4 years. Recently they had a couple of low health dept scores, which did concern me...but when I read them it wasn't anything disgusting. A couple of friends and I did decide to stop ordering from there...but that only lasted about a month! I honestly missed my weekly Chinese food night from Mei Garden.
