What a fun activity for groups of various sizes! After comparing other escape rooms we landed on Number One Escape Room. It's located off the strip which ultimately was the deciding factor. We booked the day before and still had plenty of availability to pick from. Since it was only 2 of us, we decided on "Chained" which made for a perfect date night activity. We were literally chained together the entire time which made it even more interactive. When we arrived, I loved how the entrance already was a light puzzle to get in. Number One Escape Room is located about four miles from the center of the strip. Plan accordingly, as it took us nearly 20 minutes to get there by taxi on a weekday afternoon. They have a quite a few rooms and we booked The Cabin, where you have to escape before the serial killer returns. This is a unique location as the entrance looks like a dry cleaning business. Once you walk in the front door, the masquerade continues, and you must solve a puzzle to gain entry to the main lobby. It's easy, don't over think it. The main lobby and hallways to the different rooms are somewhat dimly lit and decorated well. It gives a good vibe before you even start your room. There are lockers by the entrance door to store your belongings. We were greeted by our game master Angel who got us started quickly. Before you enter the room, the exterior is decorated just like a cabin and looks very realistic. Once you step inside the room, it is very immersive and again very realistic. All parts of this room are pretty dark, but you will have flashlights. There are some good sound effects, and since it is pretty dark, it is a little spooky, but not scary. There are a few jump scares, one part that requires a small crawl, and a tiny bit of gore at the end. There is a good mix of locks and mechanical puzzles. Hints are requested via a walkie talkie. This was a fun, very immersive room, and we escaped pretty fast with sixteen minutes to spare. If you escape early, there is a bonus puzzle you can work on with your remaining time. Their listed difficulty level of 3/5 is accurate. They have a very generous same-day rebooking discount that I think was around 50% off. The only room that was available at the time was Chained, so we gave it a try. This is a two person only room and is normally only $29 per person, so with the same day booking discount added, it is a steal. This was a very unique room. It is narrow, a little dark, and the two people sit back to back in large wooden chairs with your hands in shackles and chained to the other persons hands. All of the puzzles are within an arm's reach, but you have to coordinate your movements since the chains are only so long. I think I remember a few locks, and the rest were mechanical or physical puzzles. It is described as scary, but we didn't think it was scary. But there is a psychological factor being seated back to back and chained together the whole time. You really have to work together as a team since both people can't necessarily see the same things. Hints are given via text messages on a TV screen. We felt a little dumb in this one, and asked for a lot of hints, but we did escape with about five minutes left. The listed difficulty level is 3.5/5, but I'd maybe bump it up to 4/5. Angel was a great game master on both rooms, and gave timely hints as needed. We definitely kept him busy while doing Chained. Their rooms are very inexpensive at only $45 per person, even for only two people. And the Chained room is only $29 per person for two. Definitely take advantage of their generous same day booking discount and do a few rooms. They even have an option to rent out the whole building from 12:30am to sunrise, and your group has access to all of the rooms. Only in Vegas! read more

More of a traditional set-up with multiple rooms/themes available to choose from versus the current trend of an all-in-on-one-theme escape experience, but I think just as fun and often a lot less scary! We did "The Cabin," which was appropriately leveled in terms of difficulty, and had the room to ourselves, which we very much appreciated. It was not overly produced but still gave you the feeling of being there in the moment. There were stages to the room that kept it interesting - you were always discovering more. Our first escape room with the kids was in Las Vegas. We had one hour to escape, and the kids started right away with their ideas. My son even solved a clever puzzle that opened a drawer, and he proudly said, "I am so smart!" There were puzzles everywhere, and it wasn't easy. Reserved our room online & arrived 30 minutes before our scheduled time. The front door is funny how it throws you off as a dry cleaning shop. Walk in & the fun begins! You gotta figure out how to get thru the lobby... once in, we were greeted & immediately prepared for our room. Yay! No wasting of time! We did the voodoo lounge & we're kinda tripped out. It holds up to 4 people & you sit down in a divided circle chair. The room is filled with all kinds of fun!! It's neat how you can spin yourselves so everyone can try their hand at different puzzles. Our clue finder wasn't working which in the end didn't really matter as we managed to figure it out. We even solved the bonus clue which gave us a 50% off coupon for another visit! 19 minutes to spare and we escaped! Definitely a good rule. Looking forward to returning for another room! read more

Hands-down, one of the best experiences ever. We have never done a escape room before so we didn't know what we signed up for. The cabin was scary but tolerable for a 10-year-old. We were able to solve most of the mysteries, but still had to use the hint line. The place is kept well and the puzzles are good, but not overwhelming. Escape room excellence! The rooms are super well-decorated (Instagram-worthy) and every puzzle actually makes sense (no random rubber chickens). Our group of 5 adults had an absolute blast! The staff was practically psychic. They watched us like friendly hawks and gave us clues the instant we asked. No broken puzzles, no fake-out props, and we never had to wait for help. They gave us a chunky coupon at the end for the future which could mean the same day. Our Game Master (GM) was Angel and he was amazing! Very kind, accommodating, and thorough with the explanations. He was really helpful throughout our visit and really made our experience even more fun! The entrance to the escape room was super cool and a great way to get you in the escape room mode lol. Love that they have lots of cool souvenirs and things you can buy too! Our group of 6 challenged the Darkest Hours bundle where we played the Cabin, Shed, Red Riding Hood, Witch House, and combo of Chained and Voodoo Lounge rooms from 12AM - 3AM. I've done over 170 escape rooms at this point and have to say that the rooms at Black Cats Number One Escape Rooms are immersive, fun, and have some unique puzzles I haven't seen in other rooms. Review for two person room Chained! This place was great. It wasnt hard to find and had decent parking. You can tell their commitment to their craft as the lobby showed glimpses of their many rooms. The entry was even a puzzle on its own! The chained room is pretty small, we are sat facing opposite directions and had to talk through what we see. There were many puzzles and it was very fun! This place is awesome in so many ways. I've done literally every room at this place except the brand new one. I even did big fancy one across town for my bday and that was awesome. But it was new and it just so happened that the AC gave out that day and the place was really hot. It wasn't their fault, it was the building's fault but why I wanted to mention this experience is because the owner, Shana, personally reached out and was SO KIND to apologize for the experience. She was determined to make things right. So it's why I keep coming back time after time. Their rooms are great. However, sometimes the staff isn't great and this is why I have such a gripe with such a good company and owner. The last time I did a room, the staff started my clock before I got in the room because we arrived at just the right time...but not the 15 minutes they asked us to arrive earlier for (perhaps thise 15 minutes should be incorporated into their booking times in the future?) FAIR enough. But 1) they made us watch the safety video and we stood around for a good while after the video ended before someone came back to get us. That was wasted time 2) we got into the room and we weren't told our time was short. We didn't get out of the room and learned it was because our time was cut short. This has been the only room of the 30 or so rooms that I've attempted that I didn't get out of. It was still a fun game and we let it go since we were indeed late. Now, I'm trying to book another room that we hadn't done. As a business owner myself and having the utmost respect for Shana, I wanted to buy a groupon for my staff to do a room but I always like to call the business to offer to buy directly through them (hoping they'll honor the discount) so that the third party company, in this case, Groupon, doesn't have to take a cut of their profit. Groupon was offering 50% off and the staff refused to honor it. It's always this tango of making things so difficult. Anyway, i had to hang up and ended up just purchasing the Groupon. And then called them back to book a room. Anyway, the rooms are cool. The puzzles are fun. The owner is super nice. I have tons of respect for what the company is. Last year, I brought my staff here and one of my associates accidentally walked out with one of their walky-talkies in his pocket. He laughed it off and said "oh well". I said absolutely not! Go return it or don't come back to the office. I called no 1 escape to apologize and let them know that my associate was on the way with their property. I like them much. read more

Recently went back and tried their Red Riding Hood this time. The room was great - the decoration was a bit creepy, but no jump scares. The scariest part (for me) was the music - great choice, it created a nice, spooky, murderous ambiance. We did also have to ask for quite a few hints (I don't actually remember what the solution was, lol, but that doesn't matter since I can't share it anyway). We escaped with 3 people. I think the room would feel a bit cramped if we had more than 4 players. A couple of us bumped our head twice in the room. I had to take off a star because unfortunately, there were a few hints that were repeated. We had already solved the puzzles, yet when we asked for clues, they gave us hints for the puzzles that were already solved. And when we pressed again, immediately after realizing that, the game master still gave us the same exact hint. It took three asks before we got the clue for the next puzzle. This happened twice. At one point I had to shout through the hole that we've already solved that puzzle and needed a different hint. This was the first time I've ever needed to do that in an escape room, so that was a bit disappointing. When I told the staff afterward, they did apologize, but it sounded more like a "sorry about that, but that's what it is". I did also witnessed another group finishing the room, but they couldn't find any staff after they came out...so they were just waiting there for about 5 minutes, being lost and confused (yes, they said that out loud - multiple times). The room itself is great, but I'd highly suggest them hiring more staffs since it looks like they're unable to give every group the attention needed when there are multiple rooms in play at the same time. Normally, I'd drop the experience to 3 stars, but I did really like the rooms and the atmosphere of this escape room. read more

Visited again today for another 2 rooms! It was a Friday afternoon (our first room was at 4:15), but it was fairly busy today compared to the last time we visited. Definitely suggest making reservations or calling ahead to make sure there's space for you and your party! Today, we tackled the Witch's room as well as Little Red's room! Little Red's room felt the more difficult of the two, but thematically, both were really fun and challenging enough. We made it out of both (phew) with a few minutes to spare. Both of these were less gore intensive than the other two that we did (the Cabin & Shed), but still had mature-ish themes. Something I did noticed, however, was that these two rooms felt more quiet than the Cabin & the Shed which I was grateful for. Another wonderful time at the Black Cats' escape room, we can't wait to come back and tackle whichever rooms we haven't already tried yet hehe. WOW WOW WOW. My very first escape room experience was phenomenal, thanks to Black Cats! Having never done an escape room before, I didn't know what to expect. From the moment we walked in, we were immersed in true gameplay. The game masters made everything super clear and the instruction videos told us everything we needed to know to get started. Our party of 5 chose Suzy's Cell due to the fun, disco-themed storyline. Each puzzle was uniquely challenging (but not impossible!) and we all had to communicate and participate to navigate through the 3 immersive rooms. They hid a cell phone in the first room if we needed help along the way, which was a nice touch. We made it out with 4 minutes to spare! Everyone from our group keeps talking about what a fun time this was. Black Cats set the bar incredibly high and we already can't wait for our next visit! read more

Got this Groupon experience for my teen daughter and her friends. She's been to a few other places around town and said this was her favorite escape room so far. They did the witch theme. They said it was well well decorated with many interactive details. Scary at times but in a good way. They had a blast and would definitely come back. My 14 year old son wanted to do an escape room with the family for his birthday and we had a great time. My wife scoured the internet looking for an escape room that would be a bit spooky, tease the brain, but not be too adult themed for my younger two. The Witch House at Number One escape rooms was perfect. The whole family had a good time and we completed the room with 8 minutes left to go. My favorite part was that there were plenty of puzzles, riddles, and brain benders to solve and for all different types of brains. Even my 8 & 9 year olds were able to help plenty and not feel left out. My friends and I came here around 8:50pm on a Tuesday evening to utilize our all inclusive go pass while visiting the area. The next showing for was "The Cabin" at 9:15pm. At first, it looks like it's closed, but it's not. When you ring the bell for assistance, a door seemingly opened by itself, which was scary lol. There are 6 room options with half being "scary" and the other less so. We had to watch a video that went over the rules , including what we couldn't do such as climbing and forcing things before going into the room. After the video, we started the game. We got a walkie talkie to get clues, as needed. You cannot have electronics but they have a free locker for you to utilize. Man, for me, I'm easily frightened. The cabin one got me with all the sounds and other surprises. It was really fun, though! My two friends and I made it out with 14 minutes to spare! For the one we did, we got an hour to do it. I enjoyed it, honesty! One thing to note is that the walls are kinda thin. We could hear other people doing their rooms, but fortunately none were doing ours. If do it again! read more

Trying to read in the dark was more challenging than the game but we had a ball. Came here early September as part of a birthday celebration and I have to say this is by far the best escape room experience in town! My best friends, fiancé, and I have been here for two other rooms and all of them have been so fun prior to this room! We completed the second part of the cabin room and it was honestly sooo crazy! The details of each room were intricate and the clues were great because we did not need much assistance after finding each item to lead us into the next room. The service here is always amazing by the staff and the themes of the rooms fit the vibe each story curates. We all had a great time and made it with time to spare. They also have a special mystery box puzzle to solve within some of the rooms and we happened to solve ours! Highly recommend if you are in Vegas and looking for a unique and fun experience. Never thought I would be into escape rooms but this experience has made me think differently. Took my nieces, we did the the cabin/shed combo. The set designs were incredibly immersive, and the puzzles were cleverly designed--not too easy, but solvable under pressure. I've gone multiple times to this escape room and have tried maybe half the rooms. Overall had a great time. I like that the rooms are private even if it's just two people. Staff has been great every time I've gone. The rooms are solvable and not overly complicated. If you do get stuck you get unlimited hints so you can finish the room. I'd recommend arriving 15 min early so you have enough time to sign waivers, restroom, put your items away, and listen to the rules. Most rooms are meant for larger parties but two can escape and have a great time. Place is clean and well organized with ac. Surrounding neighborhood not the best so I'd recommend not walking around outside. read more
