I have been a client of Numo Acupuncture for over 4 years and I cannot stress how much the entire staff here has helped me, my family and friends out since. Acupuncture has become such an integral part of my life and has proven to be able to help me with so many different issues: third degree burns, kidney infection, muscle and tissue aches/pains/spasms/tears, cold, flu, stress - the list goes on and on with all the things that acupuncture can help with. I was having knee issues from too many high impact activities and was referred to Numo by a friend. I was very pleased how efficient the experiences had been. I had 3 visits so far with Faye, did cupping and acupuncture twice and acupuncture only the third time. It improved by 50% after first visit and now its 80% better. The rest will probably just need time. Definitely recommend and will be back for maintenance in future. Reason for the 4 stars is because I had an appointment around lunch time once and it was very busy and crowded in the large room in the back. Each practitioner was juggling with multiple clients, difficult to focus and have their attention. Avoid the lunch crowd if you can. read more

I have been relying on the folks at LRA for the past year to heal my ailments. I have recurring respiratory issues that typically lead to severe fever/sorethroat/congestion/chills episodes and within 1 session at LRA I am always on my way to a speedy recovery that lasts no more than 3 days, something my body without treatment would take up to 2 weeks to heal. Because I rely on LRA, I have not had to take prescribed steroids/antibiotics my M.D. would not hesitate to prescribe to me for my recurring ailment. With the help of LRA I've also been able to assist in healing my asthmatic symptoms, dissipate stress, and get better sleep. While at LRA, I've had sessions with Hobee, Guillermo, Victoria and Paul. Living Room Acupuncture is great! I've been going to them for about 9 months, for a few different health issues. I had gone to acupuncturists in the past who were, frankly, kind of crusty, harsh, and seemingly only out for the money--definitely not the kind of places you want to go to for healing. LRACU is about as opposite from that as you can get. Paul and Faye are nice, compassionate, and really know their stuff. I like seeing both of them because their acupuncture "styles" are so different from each other, that I think you get different positive benefits from both of them. The whole community acupuncture thing is really great. You can actually afford to see them more often so that you get better faster. Honestly, once people find out about community acupuncture, I don't see how the regular acupuncturists with their high prices are going to stay in business! I just got back. The place is Zen and Paul is very nice. There is paper work that you fill out on your complaints that you have on your body. They take their time to talk to you first. It was my first time trying out acupuncture and as I lay there with needles on my body, it was hard to relax because of the idea but I got used to it and fell asleep. You can be honest with them if you use Medical Cannabis. At first I was intimidated but I just told them and they said that a lot of cannabis patients get recommended to this place. Let me start by saying that I've never done acupuncture before. Honestly I don't like needles. I was having some pain in my right calf and decided to give it a shot (no pun intended). I went to NuMo and Faye was amazing! She has a very fun and relaxing personality that puts you at ease. NuMo is very quiet and relaxing. When I first walked in I was a little nervous but after a couple of minutes that subsided. Faye performed acupuncture and cupping on me and within 15 minutes the pain in my calf was completely gone and it hasn't come back. It's been over a week now. Very good place with a good group of acupuncturists. I saw Faye and Paul for a bad shoulder and they were both very nice. They are very comforting and have good philosophy in their treatment. They wanted me to visit more frequently to help remedy my shoulder quicker, but I could only go once every week since I worked too far away. They also advise and sell herbs which I tried. I love this place! A friend recommended trying acupuncture after she tried it for her severe eczema. I've been getting treatment for chronic shoulder pains. I started treatments about a year ago *ahem* thx grad school. I HATE needles, but they're 1/10th the size of a needle you get shots with... So it's bearable. Guillermo is great, he walks you through it in detail and communicates what's going on. Overall I've found acupuncture to be great for my health and it's improved my poor circulation as well stress levels. More helpful compared to visiting the chiropractor every two weeks. Its probably a good idea to get a balance of east vs west medicine. I squeeze acupuncture in every two weeks or so when I'm on top of my schedule. Cupping and massage is also recommended to try if you have muscle issues! This place gets a 5th for being sliding scale and accessible to speakers of multiple languages. I am totally amazed about acupuncture itself and even more about Living Room Acupuncture and the two owners Faye and Paul! Both of them are very competent and knowledgeable acupuncturists as well as very compassionate human beings. This place is uber chill and staff are friendly! I have had cupping and acupuncture sessions with Guillermo and the dude knows what he is doing. He is very friendly, pays attention and shows results! The issue I had with some other staff here was that they were kinda trying to attend to too many folks at once and you were kinda left hanging there. But not Guillermo! He is very attentive to one's personal therapeutic issues and exhibits a lot of compassion, which IMO, being a Buddhist, the key to all kinds of healing. I've also talked to Jonathan quite a bit at the front the desk that guy is super fun! His calendar is always booked weekends, so I've never gotten around to get an appointment with him, but he sounds like a great acupuncturist. Victoria is amazing! She is so caring and knowledgeable. She takes the time to listen, explain her treatment, and answer any questions I have. I have recommended Victoria to multiple family members and friends and, those who have gone to see her, had a great experience and are now repeat customers. I've been coming to see her for just over a year and I'm grateful for all she's done for me. I've been battling knots in my back from sitting hunched over a computer all day for years. After just one cupping treatment, my back felt great. I've tried massages to get rid of the knots but I have not had the quick results I get with cupping. I am a long-time recipient of acupuncture and I have been to many practitioners over the years. I can say HANDS DOWN that Guillermo has been the BEST! He is so much more than an acupuncturist. I was so happy when I found a deal for acupuncture since returning here to the bay area. I used to have acupuncture regularly in San Diego where he lived before. I found a Groupon deal for this particular acupuncture place which is located close to where I live. I was even more pleasantly surprised when I went there and I found out that they do not take insurance. Came in for sciatic nerve pain. I saw Monique for my first appointment and the rest of my 5 treatments were with Faye. Both ladies are great, very thorough in explaining how the acupuncture would work! They helped me understand why I'm getting the pain, showed me different stretches I could do & recommended herb supplements. I came in with my pain level at an 8-9, after a session my pain decreased to about a 5 and after my 6 sessions I was at a 2! All of their treatment and advice worked!. My only con is that Id go at my lunch hour and I sometimes had to wait about 15 mins to get my session started...which is hard for me to admit because every session Faye took her time to see how I was doing, made sure she knew where exactly my pain was at, made me feel comfy with a heater and blanket..ahh I'll be a frequent patient for sure. read more

This place is amazing, incredible, and fantastic! :) I would never have believed that the heart palpitations that I've had for 30 years could be cured in a matter of weeks! I'm utterly amazed by the results! I've had heart palpitations (irregular heartbeat) for many years, since I was in my 20s. I have seen doctors who say it's an irregular heart beat and there's nothing they can really do about it. I've had the EKG tests done over the years and different doctors have said it is not life threatening (including one I went to the same time I started going to Living Room Acupuncture). The condition was getting worse in recent weeks, as I was getting literally thousands of skipped beats per DAY. It started to concern me. I started to believe it was threatening my health, so I went on Yelp and found Living Room Acupuncture with all their five-star ratings and thought I'd give it a try. The sessions are very affordable and I scheduled sessions beginning at three per week for two weeks, then down to two per week, for another two weeks. I had sessions with three of the acupuncturists on staff (Faye, Victoria, and Hobie) and found each one of them very professional, personable, and pleasant. The rooms are very peaceful and comfortable with reclining chairs, peasant music, and heat lamps for your comfort. The treatments are not painful, but instead are pleasant and so relaxing that I look forward to going there. The needles are very thin and flexible and I've experience little or no pain whenever I go. The sessions can last an hour, but I'm sure that varies by patient. The sessions are relaxing and I sleep most of the recent sessions. I've been going about two months and the palpitations have stopped almost completely! I was totally amazed. I might get one or two palpitations in the last two weeks now instead of thousands per day! I did not know what to expect, but I never expected these results in such a short time. They have told me that the palpitations are worsened by stress, and I'm positive they are. Since I've been going, not only have the palpitations stopped, but I'm much more relaxed and able to cope with life situations. Specific pin locations are for relaxations. I have been to Victoria 6-7 times. I bought the 10 pack. The prices are very reasonable and you can add on cupping for just $15. I always feel really relaxed during my visit and after. Faye takes her time to ensure your comfort and to answer any questions you may have prior to treatment. She is exceptionally kind with a refreshing sense of humor. After 14 appointments with her, I have yet to see her have a "down" day!! She has been treating me for circulatory problems stemming from the relatively recent onset of Type II Diabetes. Her objectives, as with TCM in general, are to address the causes of the problems and to try to address as many systemic sources of the problem first and foremost. Addressing the systemic issues is not a "quick fix," but she is also able to address some of the more pertinent issues that may be bothering you. Her treatments may include acupuncture, herbs, topical heat sources, massage, and (I'm sure) many other modalities. Her treatments for me have included acupuncture, herbs, and the topical heat sources to balance yin and yang and to minimize my damp heat... I think that's right... I'll update this if necessary. In any case, Faye is very committed to the health and well-being of her patients. Victoria and Eugenia have been very helpful with my current back pain issue. I've been coming to Numo for a little while for acupuncture and cupping with Victoria, and have always left in better condition than when I entered. But Sunday I pulled my back and taught it would subside. It didn't. But after a chiropractor session with Eugenia and the acupuncture and cupping with Victoria my range of motion is vastly improved. Let me begin by saying I was very nervous before my first visit. But a trusted friend who was familiar with the pain that I was experiencing in my neck, shoulders, and hip (there are more but these were prominent), recommended acupuncture and Victoria Leung specifically. Most of the pain I was experiencing is a result of stress and the other pains I was experiencing was a result of an injury. I was desperate and have tried everything else with mixed results. I guess my visit began with the friendly receptionist and the cozy office environment. Then a couple of regular patience walked in and they were raving about Numo and Victoria specifically. I was looking forward to my first treatment. After entering the treatment room, Victoria told me about herself and answered some of my questions. Then she asked some very good questions to pinpoint the problems, the type of pain, and exactly where was I experiencing the pain. Victoria was very thorough and listened patiently. Then she explained how my body works and what she could to do to help me. That seemed to relax me and made me more comfortable. Then she asked me to prioritize the areas of pain so she would know where to begin. Victoria explained what she was going to do and proceeded. Almost immediately after inserting the needles she asked me how I was doing? Was I still feeling pain? I was shocked and started laughing because the answer was no! The pain wasn't 100% eliminated but it was reduced significantly. She told me that I would need a couple of follow-up visits for the treatment to take full effect but I already knew by this time that this was the right thing. A friend referred me to MT Chuck Lee from Numo for my neck/shoulder pain. He listens carefully to my symptoms and gives the therapy accordingly. His massages are based on technique and not just pressing hard or using force. I started feeling better after a couple of sessions. He also showed me breathing techniques for relaxation, and how to properly do some stretches and exercises to regain strength for my shoulders. I've seen Faye a couple times for stress and insomnia and the sessions have always left me completely relaxed and able to sleep. However yesterday I saw her for a different issue. I've had plantar fasciitis (which is a pulled tendon in my heel) for about a month and has made day-to-day life very difficult. And on top of that, I sprained my ankle last week. I spoke with Faye and she said she could help me out. That session yesterday worked miracles!! My average pain level was about an 8 out of 10. However today it's about a 3 out of 10!! Jonathan is AMAZING!!! I recently was diagnosed with a concussion by my MD and experienced random headaches/pressure that were super painful. My MD couldn't explain why it was occurring since the headaches were in a different location from the site where I injured my head. I was taking Tylenol for about a week, but the headaches never went away. I deal with it anymore. To be honest, I was really reluctant to try acupuncture at first since it was something I never experienced before. But boy am I really glad that I got the nerve to schedule my first appointment! I explained my problem to Jonathan and he was fully present as he was asking a series of questions in order to understand the situation. He immediately knew why the headaches were occurring and fully explained to me the various channels that run along your whole body. He knew what to do and suggested both acupuncture and cupping. It was an awesome experience! There was no pain at all and with each step, he would let me know what was going on and teach me cool facts about Chinese medicine that were relevant to my case. Love Faye and love the philosophy of Living Room Acupuncture! My back had an acute pain after thrashing it falling off a bike and then re-injuring it again on two other occasions. By the second re-injury I was toast, couldn't do daily tasks without an immense amount of pain. What's worse is that I had a month long intensive photography shoot to worry about, carrying heavy gear all day for a month. I told Faye all of this and she set up a series of appointments using both acupuncture and cupping. Sure enough, a few weeks and I was feeling much better not only in that one area, but overall.
