We were visiting in the area and I was craving pasta. This restaurant came up on my Yelp search so we picked here. It's in a small strip mall with plenty of parking. It's an older ma and pop authentic feel inside which we loved. Their menu is huge!! One of the biggest Italian menus I've seen. Tons of pastas and entrees to choose from. They also have a large selection of wines and a full bar, no specialty cocktails though. We ordered a $35 bottle of a delicious red wine. Then, we started with some bacon wrapped scallops. It came with four smaller sized pieces smothered in saffron sauce. It was presented poorly and didn't appear very appetizing but they weren't bad. I wished the scallops had a better sear to it to give it a good crunch on the outside and just have the sauce drizzled over them instead of swimming in it (see pic). The highlight of our meal was the rigatoni boscaiola. The creamy tomato sauce was so amazing!! It is mixed with sausage and mushrooms that gave it some pops of extra flavor. Every bite was a close my eyes and "mmmm" moment. Highly recommend this dish to anyone. I enjoyed that the pasta dishes are served with choice of salad or soup. All the dishes were tasty and simple. It seemed like they didn't add too many herbal seasonings and kept everything simple and delicious! Nothing fancy or romantic and not much privacy but we came for the food. At the time we were done, they had each side of the restaurant reserved for two different special occasion parties. We loved our server and the simplicity a nice Italian dish here. read more

Stopped by here today for dinner with a friend Overall nice lookin restaurant with amazing friendly staff Here is what we ordered: Complimentary bread: 7/10 - was good Moscow Mule: 5/10 - lacked flavor was a bit watered down Shrimps Alaska: 5/10 - tasted okay but lacked flavor Ravioli Meat: 5/10 - cheese was fine but the meat wasn't really good inside Penne Al Capone: 6/10 - was better than the ravioli meat and the portion was better too Panna Cotta: 9/10 - this custard was super delicious and hands down was my favorite throughout the entire dinner! Fantastic surroundings and delicious cuisine. It's the best linguini and clams I've had in a long time (I did have it with Angel hair), and it's really affordable! I also ordered buffalo mozzarella presence, which was delicious. And the portions are large! read more

Food was ok, nothing spectacular though the ambiance was relaxing and elegant. I went for Mothers Day with my parents, husband and toddler. Service was extremely slow and the dish my mother ordered did not have all the things listed in the description. I could have gotten over all that and with an openness to return, but what REALLY sent this place to my shit list was the lady passing out flowers. We were the ONLY table with a child and this old hag passed our roses to all the Mothers at the other tables and SO OBVIOUSLY skipped our table to get to the people next to us that had just arrived looking they'd just came from a hike in the woods. Don't let the fact that this is a restaurant in a strip mall. It's anything but a storefront restaurant. Nuova Italia is a small, intimate restaurant with wonderful attentive staff, spectacular food and a place you'll want to return to for special occasions as well as a get together spot with your friends. Went there New Year's Eve. We had reservation's and got seated right away. It's definitely a family owned place which is great. I had tortellini with red cream sauce and wife had beef tips with Porcini mushrooms. They had mushrooms but 90% were not porcini . Both dishes were good and solid yet not over the top, salad had way too much dressing on it . Service and prices were good yet waitress really was abrupt and she had a bit of attitude. She asked how the meal was and before I could answer she walked away . The waiter was super nice and we might come back. read more

This is probably one of the worst restaurants I've been to. We were driving past and figured we'd pop in. It's located in a nice and clean retail plaza with plenty of parking. Inside was well maintained, no issues there. However, the food was awful. We got complimentary bread upon arrival. Some of it was so stiff, we couldn't even bite into it. I ordered the fettuccine pasta with salmon (see pic). I'm unsure why they cut up the salmon into pieces, looked so unappealing...the pasta was already very watery along with the water remnants of salmon. There was literally "fish water" floating in the fettuccine sauce. I probably had 4-5 bites and wanted to throw it all up. The person I was with ordered cheese ravioli. Nothing spectacular. Cold around the edges. Would not recommend this place, we won't be back. read more

This place literally gets only one star and not zero stars because the owners were very friendly. Other than that our waitress was one of the rudest waitresses that we ever encountered!!! This place is literally about a mile from my home, we always drove by it and thought why don't we ever try it out let's eat local. Upon entering we were greeted by one of the owners she was very friendly and sat us at our table in the back room.. We waited for about 10 minutes before we met our server who immediately had an attitude and a look on her face like she wanted us to leave.. She said have you been here before? We said no it's funny we live right down the street but we never had been here before she cut us off and said do you know what you want to order... gave a sigh... and said well what do you want I'll be back in a couple minutes and just turned away... I would be super upset if I thought it was just me she was rude to. But she was rude to every single person in the dining room.. She came back with our drinks and said have you decided what you wanna do we said yes she goes OK go like a robot she just said OK super salad what else what else what else what else.. slammed her waitress book closed and walked away... Our drinks and water were never filled the owner walked by and finally gave us some water... at the same time the owner was still in our water the waitress came by and gave the rudest look to the owner which I do not know if he caught. I thought for how this girl is acting she's got to be the daughter of the owners or related somehow there's no way an owner would put up with how she's acting. I order the chicken Vesuvio nowhere in the menu did it say that it was boneless it just said it was two chicken breasts I received my dish and it looked awful... it wasn't horrible tasting but it was not great!! The appetizer that I got which was the rolled eggplant I assume it was in a red sauce it came with a balsamic it was horrific tasting!! My fiancé pasta tasted like a came from A can!! The bill was close to $90 we had no alcoholic beverages. The waitress then came to our table probably to save her tip and told us she was overwhelmed tonight and that she was alone and sorry we had to wait and so on!! I am extremely sympathetic from someone that worked in the restaurant industry for many years as an owner as a manager as a server as a bartender when you are overwhelmed it could be quite daunting. But just literally tell your customer that you are alone tonight and extremely busy but she will do everything in your power to make them have a great experience. By no means give an attitude like you want the customer to leave because you are overwhelmed. I will never go back to this restaurant but this is just my opinion go check this place out for yourself. read more

This marks my fifth visit to Nuova Italia, and I'm very happy to report that their product is consistently excellent over time. This time I had the pollo giambotta, chicken breast, roasted red peppers, sausage, excellent. My dining companions had the rigatoni bosciaolo, gnocchi Della casa and spaghetti with marinara. Did I mention that they will make any pasta dish with any sauce? Take it from me, ask for the vodka sauce, it's excellent. I also have to throw a word in about the staff. My husband and I just come into town we from Michigan. Was hungry from the drive we google Italian restaurant this was the one that caught our eyes. Walk in and the Host/server/ bartender. Was very friendly and nice. She walk us through the menu. That was nice and informative. The food came out fast and it was really really good. We're visiting friends in Addison and they took us out to Nuova Italia for dinner. We'd been here about a year ago as well. In fact, when we lived in Addison many years ago, we'd been to this same space when it was another restaurant. Five of us all ordered an Italian dish and we shared the Grilled Calamari Steak. The Calamari was excellent. It's so hard to find Grilled Calamari so I order it whenever I see it on the menu. Nuevo Italia did not disappoint! I had Zuppa di Pesce (fish soup). This dish is a large bowl with a small amount of linguini with a red sauce, topped with a lot of varied seafood. Tonight, the seafood included a split snow crab leg, 2 large shrimp, a loaf of calamari rings, clams, mussels. It was very good. After dinner, the house provided, complimentary, a large plate of small portions of all their desserts. Very classy of them and very tasty too. We'll be back next time we're in Addison! read more

Finally, an affordable restaurant for an authentic Italian meal. I'm so tired of $40-$50 pasta dishes elsewhere it's pasta people no reason to gouge.
