Here are some notables... -When you walk in, there are white tablecloths, but overall a casual environment, people in shorts and t-shirts--perfect for lunch (4.5/5). -The bread that comes in a basket before a meal matters. This bread was not warm, but pretty darn good (4/5). -I'm not a big appetizer guy, but the sausage and peppers with marinara... worth the price of admission (5/5)! - I ordered chicken parm, my go to Italian restaurant order, and I was not disappointed! 5-star service, 2-star food. DeMarco's is in a super-sketchy strip mall where the windows of most stores are completely covered. When you enter, there's a bustling bar to the left and a small dining room to the right. The servers are TOP NOTCH. Moments after you sit down, you'll have bread and water and multiple opportunities to order what you like. My wife wasn't sure about one dish because she didn't know how the sauce would taste. They brought her a free bowl of the sauce to try. I got the chicken marsala and thought it had a weird gummy texture to the coating. It wasn't great. But you get a side salad and a side pasta, which is pretty nice. At the end of the meal, our server brought us a free tiramisu to take home because she was awesome. We didn't ask for it or even hint that we wanted it. The service was truly, truly excellent. Some of the best I've ever received. But that food was iffy, and I don't know if I'd return. read more

Great classic Italian restaurant--almost feels like a place you'd see Tony Soprano tucking into a plate of linguine in. The seafood pasta (Misto di Pesce I believe) was really good and the seafood portion was really generous. I shared the plate with someone and they gave us both huge portions of seafood! Went to dinner here last night. They could not take credit cards because their system was down. We waited 20 minutes for the system to come back up, it never did. I then asked if I could go get cash from ATM to pay so I could leave. The owner refused to let patrons leave (to get cash from ATM) unless they provided information off of their license or wrote all credit card information down, all personal information. I have been twice. Story of two different visits. One was a 3 star, food was just ok, second was a 5 star food was delicious. Drinks were good, ambience was nice, service was fast and friendly both times. Food was pretty salty and the spinach ravioli was not great. Second time the food was great. Here at my mom's birthday party of 9. Everything was going well until the owner came over and start taking our plates. She put a dirty dish in my plate without asking me if I was done with my food. Next she took the dirty plate out and left. No I'm sorry, no can I make you another one. Nothing!!!! I was hungry for an Italian meal and my fellow Yelpers did not disappoint. I found DeMarco's Restaurant on Yelp and called in an order to go. It sounded from the reviews that the portions were a pretty good size, so decided to split a chicken parmigiana with my sister. I talked to Kathleen/Kristine (can't remember her exact name, sorry!) but she was so helpful and the nicest person to ever take my phone order. I asked about a side vegetable snd she suggested broccoli or spinach. I went with broccoli. It was perfectly cooked but then had garlic on it I think. I am not a garlic person and had envisioned just plain steamed broccoli. Next time I'll clarify that. She also suggested pasta on the side and it comes with crusty bread and butter, which was amazing! The chicken parm was moist and delicious. The crusty goodness around the chicken wasn't as crisp as I like it, but I also ordered it to-go so that's what happens when you don't eat it immediately after it's served. This was my first time at DeMarco's Italian Restaurant. The restaurant is on a busy corner with a small parking lot area. The space is very traditional old school restaurant with white table clothes and knowledgeable wait staff. I ordered the chicken and mushrooms in a light tomato sauce. Excellent Italian restaurant. You know you're in a legit Italian restaurant when you see the old Italians sitting at the bar hanging out at 5pm. The service was impecabble and the food delicious. I had the beef shank special I think it was called osso bucco. The meat was fall off the bone tender and the sauce you can tell has been stewing, building up in flavor for hours. The spinach was delicious and garlicky. The pasta perfectly done. The other highlight for me was the grilled octopus. Nice char and flavor. The tirsmisu was also some of the best I've ever had. This summer I have been trying to get out as much as possible to really review so many restaurants that are on my list. Many of the restaurants that I have reviewed have lived up to my expectations, while many have been complete disappointments. I had one restaurant on my list for quite some time called DeMarco's Restaurant in Itasca. I will not lie many times while passing DeMarco's I had hesitation to check them out, due to the fact that the strip mall that they are located in looks less than inviting. I finally said to myself and my wife let's finally go check them out. I've heard nothing but good things. I pulled into the parking lot in the afternoon on a weekday. There did not seem to be many customers due to not seeing too many cars in the parking lot. I figured this would be the best time to check them out, so I can really get a feel for the restaurant without it being too busy. I walked into the restaurant and was completely surprised at how it looked inside. The first thing I noticed was how large it was. I also was shocked to see that it was very clean and modern. The restaurant has three parts to its large space. There is a bar area, then the restaurant, and an entire room devoted to slot machines. I was kindly greeted by the gentleman behind the bar and he immediately took us to a table of our choice. Immediately after sitting down, we were greeted by some of the best and friendliest servers I have ever encountered. While I was sitting I never waited for water or drink refills or for more bread. The service was fantastic and this was even before I ordered my meal. I looked over the menu and the first thing that caught my eye was the sausage and peppers appetizer. I ordered that for myself and my wife. I also ordered their Caesar salad which was more of a vinegar-based type of Cesar dressing. The appetizer of the sausage and peppers came out. The sausage was some of the best sausages I've ever had in my life. The sausage was extremely tender and not hard in any way. It literally melted in your mouth. The peppers and the onions, mixed with the sauce and sausage, were so delicious. The warm bread that they offered at the table paired so well to sop up the sausage juices from the sausage. The appetizer alone would have made me give a five-star review because it was that good. I noticed on their menu that they did have a make-your-own pasta because they make everything fresh. You can order whatever sauce, pasta, and protein combination that you want. I ended up going with something simple. I went with the fettuccine Alfredo for my entrée. My wife had the chicken Parmesan for her entrée. The fettuccine Alfredo was extremely old-school. I could tell that the pasta was made fresh. The Alfredo sauce was very basic, in a good way, with cream and Parmesan cheese, using the freshest ingredients. It was absolutely delicious and a large portion. My wife enjoyed her chicken Parmesan. It came with two large boneless chicken breasts and a side of pasta. The batter on the chicken breast was very light and everything tasted fantastic. I was so full at this point and wrapped up what was the remainder of our entrées. I wanted to try their tiramisu, which is one of my favorite desserts. The tiramisu was absolutely heavenly. It was creamy, light, and fresh. I could tell it was homemade. The only critique that I can say for this restaurant is that the prices are very high. I understand the prices are high everywhere with this horrific inflation. The bill for both of us to eat without any type of alcohol was around $83 dollars before tip. I do not mind paying that though in hindsight for the fantastic service that we received and the friendliness of everyone working here. It was so refreshing from previous restaurants that I have visited and reviewed recently. I was so glad that I took a chance and visited this restaurant and not judged what it looked like from the outside. I definitely recommend everyone go visit this place. Owners greet you at the door and wait staff welcome you as family. Veal is fantastic... fish is fresh. Our Tiramisu and cappuccino to finish our meal were great choices. It's a little tight on space, dining room was a little loud as it filled with guest. Our server Mary, was an attentive listener and made sure we were happy with our meals. This is my regular top restaurant for Great food , i've had almost everything on the menu and I've been coming here for years the food here has always been amazing I've never had one bad experience. The bartender he is amazing always makes you laugh and smile and sometimes he'll serve you your food if you're on the side dining where the bar is . The only thing I wish they would improve on is the waitresses they never smile it's hard to get them to come over and they don't make you feel welcome that's the only downfall even a regular customer like me always tips 20% or more you would think they could crack a smile once in a while but nope read more

We met some friends here for dinner as they live in the area and love this place. The bartender was very friendly and made a fantastic black Manhattan. The food was very good, and while we really enjoyed the bread and garlic butter, the veal Parmesan, a chicken and spinach special, and other veal dishes, they charged us $30 for a burrata appetizer. I am in town for business and decided to swing by on the recommendation of my colleagues. Went in during a weeknight and was seated immediately. I was greeted by my server, Mario, who even had an authentic accent. I ordered the linguine aquapazza (linguine with clams, mussels, shrimp, salmon and tilapia covered in a garlic/olive oil sauce) which was a on the daily special menu and came with a soup. I also ordered the meatball appetizer. All the food came out quickly and tasted great. I ordered the tiramisu for dessert with a cup of coffee and I think my eyes were bigger than my stomach, but I pushed through like a champ and dusted off all the food. They did leave a plate of grapes and oranges, but I was so full, I had to loosen my belt. If you choose to go here, you won't be disappointed. The atmosphere is nice, the service is top notch and the food I had this evening may force me to take another visit before I head back home to the west coast. read more

Be careful when ordering special dishes that are not on the menu. The prices of these specials are not listed on the menu and are not disclosed to you before ordering. The only way to know the prices is to see a small board that is hung in the back of the restaurant high on the wall and is not in a place that can be seen from everywhere. After ordering a special and receiving the bill we questioned the price as it was a bit higher than what would have been expected. The owner immediately became defensive and said that we were insulting her by questioning the price and that she was not ripping anyone off. Just be careful and ask for pricing upfront so you don't feel deceived when receiving the bill. read more

Average Valentines dinner this year. Evidently, their expansion with a big bar, and focused space on gambing, has taken away the focus that has brought me back quite regularly for special occasion date nights. Salad had too much dressing and was unusually small. My pasta with red sauce the noodles were over cooked. The red sauce, still fantastic. Gorgeous blonde had a scallop that looked ill, grey, and rubbery. She decided to not eat it. He pasta was good, with white sauce that was terrific. Calamari was fantastic. Wine was good and service was prompt and attentive. My previous five star reviews will hopefully come back after our next trip. It won't be soon, however, as there are many restaurants that pay close attention, especially when the bill exceeds $140 with generous tip, and probably are not distracted by their easy money gambling rooms..... read more

It was a standard oil and vinegar. I did enjoy the Chicken Marsala. Could have had more mushrooms and the sauce was a little lighter than I like. We ordered a catering platter that took a while for the restaurant to locate. Once we picked it up, the box it was in was far too small and the foil tray was "scalding hot" and balancing on the cardboard. Needless to say, before we even got home the tray had spilled all over our car, coat, etc. When we called the restaurant a few days later to let them know of the issue so future customers didn't experience the issue, they said "too bad" and hung up. Ordered through grub hub. Wrong order was delivered. Ordered oreginati chicken, salad, fried squid, pasta vodka sauce, meatballs and salad. We received lemon chicken, two pastas with red sauce, two soups, meatballs. Grub hub basically "shrugged their shoulders" and the restaurant kept us on hold for 15 minutes and shuffled us between people who blamed it on the grub hub driver "who had no proper ID". Then the restaurant had the gall to tell us to come pick up the right order. I know this is during COVID times but this is ridiculous. We live 25 minutes away. This was horrible service and we were hungry. The restaurant told us that they would refund our money but at this point I do not trust them. A basic agreement has been broken. First time customer. No apology received from restaurant. Without an apology I intend to smear their reputation across all social media. read more
