I've been eating Nutbelly for years and feel that the quality of food has really gone down hill but the extreme price points are still there. My salad toppings were the same components as my pizza toppings ($17 salad...). The pizzas were pretty bad...we ordered 4. No debit or credit cards even though the sticker is in the window. Only Cash and Venmo. Kinda weird... Service was mediocre with only two groups in the restaurant. Really unfortunate considering the location. Won't be returning. read more

This is a must try spot if you are looking for a high quality delicious pizza. The chef hand prepares the pizza dough there and from the first bite you can tell. I decided to try their Avocado fiesta pizza and I knew I would be coming back for more. The avocado fiesta pizza has hot sauce, corn, avocado, and lots of cheese. It all pairs perfectly and melts once you take a bite. I also decided to try their Hawaiian pizza and it became my favorite one out of the pizzerias I have tried. Everything tasted delicious! I'm here on a raining night parking on street or behind building off of Carpenteria. Greeted when I came in. Not crowed tonight but inviting atmosphere They do table service or order to go. Local delivery through grub hub 20 dollar min. Menu is reasonably priced sandwiches and pizza. Look up for the specials on the board and the craft beers my pizza was ready in an unbelievable amount of time so it's off back to home to give it a try. The smell is great so I'm assuming it will be fantastic and the fact that the service was friendly and fast. What more could you ask? OK, my first time here, a restaurant/bar that features full size bicycles, bicycle parts, photos of bicycles, and other art work curated by the owner, many for sale. Lots of wood, a nice seating area and a bar with several seats. Service was pleasant and attentive. I ordered the warm spinach salad. How did this leafy food reviled in my childhood become such a personal favorite food. It did not disappoint. I just had the salad and a sparkling water as I read a book, snapped of few indoor shots, listened to the mostly folk and country soundtrack playing (it fit), then wrote this review. Good location in downtown Carpinteria. I had the Hawaiian pizza. Loved it. On the sweet side with a little bit of heat from the chili sauce. My wife had an excellent half portion garden salad with balsamic dressing. The service was excellent. The young waiter was very attentive and kept our water glasses full. A full pint too - so we sat outside and enjoyed a few while the mobs were paying 11 bucks for a 12oz pour outside at the "official" beer tents. I can see why they don't want other restaurants to sell beer nearby their tents! But they can't do anything about it as the restaurants have a right to make money. I'm bummed. I spent every summer in Carpinteria since I was an infant. Now a mother of teens and one with celiac. This came up on my app as a safe place to eat. She wanted pizza. We were eating with my Father who was treating us to dinner after a long day at the beach I inquired about the safety for allergies and the young man told me "ahhh.. yeah.. I dont know. We cant guarantee anything but we do have a pan for the pizza" I was asking the right questions ... is the pan solely for GF ? Is it a shared pan with other gluten pizza? is there a special oven just for GF? The minute I have to ask and ask.. I'm leery. Then I asked what the crust is made of. "I dont know" Sigh. Our waiter was much more alert to our allergy and made us feel a little better about ordering. Cue to my order: the warmed spinach salad with add on of chicken. Daughter and Dad both loved their pizza. Here we are 24 hours later and my daughter is ok. That's the good news . the MEH news: I received my salad and the chicken was the biggest disappointment of my life in Carpinteria. It tasted like microwaved Tyson frozen chicken from smart and final sale selection. I actually questioned what I was actually eating. If you are a parent of a celiac child. Your dinner is last. once you are feeling OK to feed them outside food and somewhat reassured they will be safe... you're left with .02 energy on feeding yourself. First time trying Nutbelly's and we could not be happier. We were greeted and seated right away. Our sever was Devin and he was on point. Offered us beverages and made some recommendations. Our table had 2 pasta dishes, 2 calzones and a salad. The Rincon calzone and the spinach, mushroom and Italian sausage calzone, were the best I've ever had, and I'm picky! All fresh ingredients and the crust... oh my word... that was so fresh, baked to absolute perfection! Seasoned with just the right amount of seasoning and lightly crisp but soft, every bite! Not doughy soft but.... The pastas were the Nutbellita and the Rich Farmer. They looked amazing and fresh. Our dining companions throughly enjoyed every last bite. We also all tried the soup of the day, White Bean and was delicious. But the star of the experience was definitely our server. Extremely nice, attentive and friendly. I really want to like this place but my expectations seem to fall short each time I go here. This time, I ordered food for delivery. I got the garden salad, buffalo chips, and Nutbelly Pasta. I had added meatballs to go with the pasta (extra charge), but they were missing which was a huge bummer. The pasta itself was ok but I would prefer Guichos or Tharios. The buffalo chips weren't really what I expected - essentially a flatbread/pizza versus chips. Flavor was also meh - could have used more sauce. Only docking it one point because I'm a saucy girl and the pizza was not saucy. Obviously that is just a personal preference, I just didn't feel that the bbq was presented as much as chicken/ cheese ratio. We also got the calzone- the price isn't on the menu but it's BYO. The calzone was HUGE. Def could feed two. The crust is great... i wish the veggies were chopped a little more? They came out in long pieces. But none the less it was good! Ok! Called in an order for a kids spaghetti noodles with no sauce with 1 meatball which comes with toasted bread for $12.00. Was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. Arrived to pick up the order. Paid $12.50 with a $3.00 tip! Got home. Time for dinner. Open the container and no meatball. Called and asked to speak to the manager. Two hours later no call from the manager. Called back. Javier stated 'the manager is in a meeting.' 3 stars because... (1) I am a regular customer. Have ordered from them since I moved to Carpenteria especially during COVID. (2) Love their food which is a good alternative when I'm not up to cooking. (3) Have ordered this same meal many times. The waiter went from the register to the food and I had to ask for a bag. Sanitary conditions??? So good customer service means nothing? The manager is too busy to call a customer back!
