love this place and wish there was one in los angeles. obsessed with the linguini and could eat it everyday that i'm in carp. everything comes takeout style, as in already in a to go box so don't expect true table service.

Food is always so amazing! Flavorful! Great ambiance, service is always great as well!

Caesar Salad

My family ordered lasagna, ravioli, and caesar salad. The sauce used for the ravioli and lasagna tasted very fresh. The caesar salad wasn't our favorite. We didn't care for the dressing. The service was friendly, and the restaurant was clean!

This time I Ordered the Lasagna and sausage plate. The food was just delicious. The service was good, the ambiance is simple and modern. It's a perfect date night restaurant. The food speaks for it self, never disappointed. The experiance is fun, you can people watchable enjoying your food inside sitting facing the street view. The spot is a gem, when you visit Carpenteria, make a point to stop at Guicho's and enjoy the food, and tiramisu. You'll marvel in the Italien cusine, and leave happy.

This is a solid takeout place. We ordered a couple of pasta dishes, some garlic bread on the side. Our food came out piping hot without a long wait. The portions were sized, tasty and well priced! This is a family owned restaurant and looks like they have been around for a while. Highly recommended!

Shrimp linguine

The pasta quality is delicious. I asked what was their popular item and was told the shrimp or seas food linguine---and it was spot on! The sauce has a spicy (mild) kick to it so if you are not a fan of spiciness at any level, this is not for you. You order at the counter and staff brings you the food to your table if you are eating in. All is packaged in to go boxes regardless. I find it troublesome (sauce dripping on covers/flicks at you by how you are moving the flaps) eating it from the box with the folding portion in the way... inside the restaurant. Service is minimum since you pretty much clean up after yourself. Not a fan of the tip option when you are paying when you order at the cashier for a self service place. It makes tipping obligated in my opinion. Establishment is clean. Friendly downtown Carpenteria neighborhood.

Guichos needs to improve how to pack to go packages This is unacceptable.

We also ordered trio order of fries whivh includedFrench fries p, sweet potato fries and onion rings. All were delicious. If you want good food, relaxed environment in the sun, decent prices. Was supposed to have cheese on top and no kidding, had a few strands of very fine shredded cheese, that's it. 2.) fish tacos looked good but completely fell apart in the soft corn tortilla they were in, they fell onto the table and the entire thing fell apart into small pieces. Tortilla didn't hold up to any of it. 3.) sweet potato fries were good but $6.00 was a bit much for the small portion of fries. Just overall not impressed this time. Last time we had burgers and I think that may be the way to go here, I recommend those but what we had today wasn't worth coming back to in my opinion.

The outdoor seating was super cute with little steel tables and chairs, plus plenty of umbrellas for anyone sensitive to the sun. The menu was simple but had vegetarian options, and they also had a case full of bakery goodies that looked delicious. I ordered the white mocha decaf with oat milk and a breakfast sandwich -- both were really good! There wasn't too much interaction with the staff, but they kept the line moving and got the food out quickly. Overall, a great location within walking distance to shops and gardens that we enjoyed strolling through after breakfast. Definitely worth stopping by!

My parents are older and get cold easily, so we sat next to the fire pit. It turns off suddenly and we request it to please be turned back on as it's overcast and barely noon, and a waitress who hasn't been near us in 20 minutes says she smelled gas just now and had to turn it off. Translation: cheap management saw the sun coming out and wanted to save money. There was no gas smell. So classless. Even when we mentioned it again and asked, the glazed-eyes looking girl gave a slight remix of her "unfortunately umm due to me umm smelling gas umm we are not able to turn it back onnnnn." Is everyone who works here on meds or something? Coffee was terrible and watered-down, and simple premade sandwiches took 20 minutes to heat in a panini press and bring out. Food was very mediocre and my "poached" egg was basically hard boiled. The food tastes much better when you order online, probably because they actually know you have a set time limit to pick it up so they make it fresh and with effort. They just dgaf if you're seated, I guess. Just go to Lucky Llama guys.

The food and honey are fresh and delicious, and their honey hand balm is soft and deeply moisturizing. Their staff are some of the kindest people you'll ever meet and you can tell how passionate they are about the business and making a positive impact on their community. At one point they noticed I didn't get my order in time, and brought out an extra slice to thank me for my patience, which goes to show their attention to making their customers happy and quickly correcting any mistakes. Food was extra fresh and absolutely delicious. Pepperoni Pizza - 5/5. Soft sourdough crust and mini pepperoni cups. Salad - 5/5. Fresh. Croutons and ranch made in house. Cookies - 5/5. Peanut butter chuck and chocolate chip cookies were perfectly chunky. Hot Honey - 5/5. Extra spicy (and when I say spicy, I mean spicy), and goes well with the pizza! His didn't arrive until about 10-15 minutes later, and they forgot the bagel entirely. The server dropped the food off and disappeared. His potatoes were completely raw, the food was barely warm, and the corned beef hash had zero crisp to it. He took one bite and spit it out. We sat there waiting forever just to tell someone because no server ever checked back. Eventually another employee dropped off the missing bagel and immediately ran off again. My husband finally had to walk inside himself to tell them the food was cold and undercooked. A few minutes later they brought the same plate back out, clearly just microwaved. The eggs were now rubber, the hash was still awful, and the potatoes were still terrible. He went back inside a second time and told them to forget it and just charge us for the bagel, coffee, and my breakfast. Even getting the check took another 20 minutes. What's most frustrating is that nobody seemed to care. No apology, no urgency, no effort to fix anything properly. My breakfast was mediocre at best. The eggs and bacon were fine, but the French toast was cold and looked like plain toast, and they covered the potatoes in cheese without mentioning it. After reading other recent reviews, it's clear this wasn't just a one-off bad day. The common theme seems to be cold food, long waits, inattentive service, and management/staff who simply don't care. This place is overpriced, overrated, and unfortunately living off its past reputation. Maybe just stick with bagels.

Excellent brewery spot with great beer & relaxed service!…read more Located against the railroad track on the back side of the building, it's a bit difficult to find, but just drive all the way in to the large alley, I guess Maple Ave. Nice wide open set up, perfect for a cold beer on a warm day. Wife went for the Crimson Horizon, and she enjoued it. I got a sip and it was smoother butterier than the Firestone cali squeeze? I tried the Avocado Honey Ale since can't go wrong with description of amber honey ale! Was told it was a version of their kolsch with local honey. Wow, it was smooth with a bit of sweet finish, so addictive!!! Still had hours to drive so couldn't just have as many as I wanted, but I checked online and seemed Albertsons sold it so figured I can just pick them up back at home. But the gentleman resting at the bar told me he delivers their beer but only up to the hills. I guess maybe available in stores up to Camarillo, but not over that hill/mountain. I had to have more of it, and they had 6 packs in the cooler for purchase so went for a pack. The green cans are such delightful vessels to hold the even more delightful liquid inside. Wife even cut out the top and using the cute cans as planters, lol! The cans poured out at home was excellent as well, very fresh and refreshing and could get tiny hints of avocado on sips. Just a great beer! After browsing the brewery, it seems avocado honey ale is their signature beer, so I got lucky to choose that from the menu, lol. While enjoying the beer, the amtrak train blew it's horn to leave from the Carpinteria station, so we rushed out to wave and enjoy seeing that go by right in front as well. I am sure the locals were shaking their heads at our excitement of seeing the train go by, one gentleman when leaving even complimented my kid's dance moves from when we were out there to greet and send off the train, lol! Awesome local spot and great folks, just a very relaxing spot to enjoy the delicious avo honey ale! Just hidden so maybe not many visitors to Carpinteria find it, but I picked it out from search for brewery and chose this over the other one on the main streets. What a find for an out of towner! Hope they can expand out or grow their delivery area, maybe get it sent to total wine which must have a distribution center. Otherwise, this is a must stop for any SB trips for sure!
