Sea bass with baked potato (in a uniquely crispy skin).

Enjoyed a generous portion of super fresh, local wild caught sea bass. It was served with a tasty tartar sauce. The baked potato is unique--as if they skin it and fry or air fry it. The clam chowder was my least favorite component of the meal; it tasted a little like it contained chicken broth and was pretty thick with not enough vegetable. Still, I ate it! I took the remarkably delectable chocolate walnut pie to go. Wow! Personally, I would like to see the décor freshened up a bit, though I like the old school vibe, the furniture feels worn. Service was friendly and attentive. This was my second time here--the first having been about 10 years back. I don't even eat steak, but they offered four kinds of fish on the chalkboard. And again, the sea bass was splendid. Recommended, especially for patrons who enjoy a low-key, authentically retro vibe and simple, honest homemade food.

The only restaurant open on Thanksgiving and they were still able to seat us. It was amazing and so was our waiter. Totally recommend a visit!

I was in the area and wanted to find a local spot and this was a great find. Locally owned over 40 years. Hous made and fresh food. Pie is sincluded with every dinner. You get rolls, salad, your giant dinner entre and a slice of over 10 different homemade pies to choose from. Friendly place, No waiting, great food and a good price. You will have food left over for at least two more meals. I was already quite full before my entree ever came. One dinner can defenitely feed two people. The inside has a definite home feel to it. Ifelt like I walked into someones home. Support local and give this place a try. Bring your appetitte and loose pants.

Red Snapper with rice pilaf. My husband said it was the best pilaf he had ever had.

We camp in Carpinteria every Fall and have always wanted to try this place. Finally had a chance last night and it didn't disappoint. The outside of the building looks very run down, so don't let that put you off. The food is absolutely delicious and the service by Esther was the best. She was so nice. We were told they had fabulous steaks, but we opted for their fish. My husband had the red snapper with rice pilaf and a bowl of clam chowder. Pie also comes with the meal and he had coconut creme. I had Sea Bass that was cooked to perfection with zucchini as my side. Had a bowl of delicious split pea soup and my pie choice was cherry. We took the pies back to our trailer. So much food and it was all really, really good. We will definitely come back here our next trip to this area.

This place is awesome. Idk what I enjoyed more, the food or the ambience. You definitely feel like you're dining at your grandmother's house. She's lived there for 60 years and so have all her things. The food is so good. Old school steak house. The dinner meal options are affordable and you get so much food. Not to mention your choice of pie and homemade whipped cream. I was so happy and want to return asap with my whole family.

Belly so full - I had to unbutton my pants! For starters the cup of clam chowder was hot and mouth watering along with a well made salad - what is that, let me explain. Well chopped dark green leaf lettuce, shredded carrots, sliced beats, sliced cucumber, sliced cherry tomatoes and flavored croutons which are cut from the hot oven baked rolls that are put on the table as you walk in (don't miss out delicious) Ask the ladies to mix you the Blue cheese and sweet Russian dressing, what a flavor. I had the freshest evenly moist baked salmon with glazed carrots, rice pilaf. The plate comes with tarter sauce and lemon wedges, my opinion not needed. My daughter had the sirloin tips which are basted in a mushroom wine sauce making the steak tender juicy and a delight to eat. Lastly, my husband had the Prime rib medium rare and cooked to perfection. (If you love steaks this is the place to stop) the side dish was a to die for twice baked potatoe with the fixings on the side. And YES a home made slice of pie - Yes this baker can bake!! Note I took a picture of a slice if banana cream pie next to a salt shaker so you can see how thick and decadent this slice if heaven is) Never be stuck on the 101 fwy with an empty stomach- stop into Carpenteria have a hardy meal. If you have kids the menu is adorable, too!

Tortilla didn't hold up to any of it. 3.) sweet potato fries were good but $6.00 was a bit much for the small portion of fries. Just overall not impressed this time. Last time we had burgers and I think that may be the way to go here, I recommend those but what we had today wasn't worth coming back to in my opinion.

For a place called "Little Dom's Seafood," the menu barely offers any seafood at all; no clams, no crab, no lobster. Just one fish option, oysters, and maybe a shrimp dish. The rest is pizza, salad, and pasta, which felt misleading. The only thing we enjoyed was my youngest's spaghetti and meatballs. The pasta was perfectly cooked, the sauce was great, and the meatballs were genuinely delicious. Everything else missed the mark: * The fish crudo was so heavily seasoned and oily that you couldn't taste the fish. * The margherita pizza was undercooked. * The fish sandwich was drowning in sauce, and the brioche bun was soggy and greasy. * Even the Diet Coke tasted watered‑down and off. Service didn't help. We waited far too long despite the dining room being mostly empty. We were told they were "really busy," but there were plenty of open tables. For $165, the value just wasn't there. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was a genuinely poor experience from start to finish, and I wouldn't return. Oh wait the bathroom was exceptionally clean and well equipped that was a great experience and the restaurant looks great and has very comfortable tables and seats

It created such a relaxing atmosphere for lunch. It was my wife's and mother's first visit, and they both really enjoyed the ambiance. Honestly, the atmosphere made the food taste even better. We ordered the risotto with added chicken, along with mussels and a few other dishes. The risotto was creamy without feeling too heavy, and adding chicken made it much more satisfying. The only slight disappointment was the mussels. They were much smaller than expected -- probably not in season -- and there was barely any meat inside Still, the overall experience, atmosphere, and quality time with family made it a very enjoyable lunch.
