I am a gluten-free vegan. I also only eat organic fruits and vegetables. While Nutrtion Smarts produce section is small, it has a greater selection of organic fruits and vegetables that I was able to find at Whole Foods, which intersperses their sparse selection of organics in with a large proportion of conventional produce. When I started shopping at NS about five years ago, it was wonderful. The staff was knowledgeable and congenial, the store was meticulous, and the place was always well stocked. There was a community feeling when you walked in the door and through the years, I got to know most of the staff as they helped me in immeasurable ways with a variety of challenges during my food lifestyle shift. I ultimately shopped there exclusively. While their prices are higher on some non perishables, they routinely out compete Publix on produce, and it's not shrink-wrapped in plastic! I still shop there for some things, and the service is ok, but something happened a couple of years ago that resulted in the loss of the core senior staff that ran that place so well for so many years. The new staff, while helpful, lacks the product familiarity and client centric culture since none of them (except for two awesome guys who have been there forever) seem to stick around very long. So it seems like something is going on behind the scenes that's causing staff to leave. NS-corporate: whatever you changed isn't working. I was loyal, in large part because of the staff. They were kind, courteous and knowledgeable. And now they are gone. If I have an alternative that provides what you use to have, I will take my business elsewhere. read more

That's where we get my daughters stuff so yeah but...Ok so I took my daughter there and she has a really bad allergy with all nuts so we went to the juice bar and we took the berry with NO NUTS and she drinked it all it was $7 so I payed and when we took it home she broke out and we had to take her to the hostipal and she was okay we went back and he said he put ALMOND MILK and we told him she had really bad allergrys to nuts and he said okay so not going to do the juice bar ever again. I absolutely love having this wonderful store so close to my home! Before moving to Wesley Chapel, the nearest health food store to me was at least 1/2 hour away. Love the selection (both food and vitamins/supplements), prices are great for the most part (especially sale items), size of the store is perfect- not too big, not too small. But what really sets this store apart from the rest is the customer service: every single employee I've interacted with has been beyond friendly and super helpful. Keep up the great work WCNS! My only gripe is the parking lot..it can be a war zone at times. But that's not at all ever going to keep me away. read more

Not a good experience at Nutrition Smart today. I've been shopping at the store for many years but probably won't go back because each time I go I find it less and less enjoyable and not very friendly. Today there was a line of maybe eight or 10 people with only one register open. The young man on the register looked up after chatting with his customer and not paying attention to his surroundings and said "oh there's a line" and called for help which took their time getting there then running down the aisle. The man on the register who helped me was racing through my order and couldn't wait to get finished to do whatever he was doing prior. It was not a very good experience to say the least without going into a lot more detail after spending $200 in the store I will not be returning. Most of what I bought I can get at Earth Fare Where the cashiers say "thank you for shopping at Earth fare have a nice day". That's not something I believe I've ever heard at nutrition S'mart. They could work on their customer service. While I like having health food store close to home the staff is in another world. I checked out while what appeared to be a manager talking to the check out clerk. Not so much as a hello, did you find everything you need, thank you or good bye. They continued to talk about who works on Sunday and how you fit in lunch breaks without so much as acknowledging my existence. Stand in a section trying to find a supplement, no one around to assist. Then an announcement is made that it is 9PM and they are closed, make your final selections. A worker walks right past me. I chase him down and ask if he can assist me make my final selection. He stated "no, we are closed". All I can say is what a rude ass person they have working at this store. I have to say I was a little excited seeing a health food store in the area. I don't do my regular shopping in stores like this but it's nice to know you can get those specialty items that the regular grocery stores just don't carry. Upon walking in I was greeted with a hello, so that was nice. However the shelves seemed almost barren and the aisle were suffering from any true organization. I think I counted 3 different aisles with dried pasta on the shelves! So anyways I grabbed a couple items and went to the register. There was only one lane open and one customer in front of me. Should be fast, right? WRONG! The couple in front of me was taking their sweet time writing a check and conversing with no regard to me or my time. I normally wouldn't put blame on a store for this but it goes a little deeper than that. The girl that was bagging and chatting with this customer decided to open another register AFTER another customer got in line after me and told her to come over and started taking care of her order. Then there were 2-3 other customers that went through that line before my cashier was able to help me with my two little items. I started a Keto diet about a week ago. I was always a big bread/wrap/sandwich person, so its been rough. I decided to try my hand at making Soul Bread, Keto pancakes, etc., and also pick up some sugar-free sweet items. I had to ask for help a few times while shopping (bc im so unfamiliar with alot of these ingredients!), and I had several employees offer help, and provide it quickly and kindly - so I was able to find everything I needed. Also, as a first time shopper, they gave me 10% off my purchase! Was it a little pricey? Yes, but I expected that for whole, healthy, less-common ingredients, so no harm there. I shop at this location multiple times and although most of the time I do not need help, the one day I do and no one has any clue. The food/beverage bar has one guy who's too busy and consumed in a conversation with a young lady to pay attention to me. I stood there with no acknowledgement that I was there. I hope the manager is reading this because thats just unacceptable. When I ask another employee the same question they had no clue and directed me to the bar where of course I just came back from and was IGNORED. Just Ridiculous!!! read more

Not Trader Joes and not Whole Foods but close enough and located right where I need it to be. So until either of these places opens up in Wesley Chapel I'm counting on this place to get Organic foods. Plus they give out $5 coupons often enough to make it worth going. The square footage allows you to get in and out much faster than a stop at Publix and the bag credit is good for the wallet and the environment. Worth a stop. read more

I like this place. They had all the vitamins that I was looking for and were very helpful in helping me obtain them. They are a bit pricey and lacking in the fruit and vegetable department but I feel like I can keep it on the list to obtain a few of my favorite items. I always love going to this store it's my alternative when I can't get to the bigger chain stores like Whole Foods Market or Trader Joe's. Overall some product prices may be higher priced when compared to WFM or TJ but they offer many brands not offered elsewhere. They tend to run many in house specials. I love the fact that they have smaller stores which make it personably and assistance is readily available when you have questions about products, brands or ingredients. They also accept manufacturer coupons and they offer many health and wellness newsletters free for the taking. There's also a calender of many of the store upcoming events. Their calender ism usually packed with a variety of offerings like lecturers, food demos and free giveaways on certain days. The only down side is their stores are scarce with only two locations in Tampa. read more

I've been coming to this place for awhile. Their variety is really good given their size. I can also fill up water jugs here which is nice. The staff is friendly, knowledgable and helpful. Plus their hours are great. I love their rolled dates in coconut. I also got a wonderful magnesium spray. I feel like I see a new product every time I walk in this store. Very disappointed in my last visit to Nutrition Smart. A coworker and I decided to head in during our lunch break to check out their new juice bar. There were no other patrons there at the time, yet 15 minutes after ordering our smoothies they were still not done (despite us ordering the same thing, meaning they only used one blender) and our lunch break was almost over. Just as my coworker began to tell me she was thinking of asking for her money back we noticed one of the two juice bar workers walking towards us with a smoothie. We were relieved to be getting out of there finally, until she sets down the smoothie behind the register. Clearly this was for an employee and took precedence over the customers. My coworker then went over to her and told her she would like a refund so she can leave, she was then told the manager would need to come over. He came over quickly but offered no apology and actually got defensive with her. I was then given my smoothie, 20 minutes after I ordered it at the same counter, and we left. To top it off my $8-9 smoothie was terrible and I ended up throwing it away almost completely full. I wish this is where my bad experience ended, because I've shopped at this location for 2 years and the Carrolwood location previous to that, but unfortunately it is not. I wrote the company to let them know what happen and that they need better management over their store and juice bar operation, but a week passed with no response. I still wanted to give them a chance, so I sent them a message on facebook. They responded saying I would be hearing from them through my email soon. Nothing ever came. This is bad news for the Wesley Chapel Nutrition Smart, especially since the expansion of Wiregrass will most likely include the addition of another health conscious grocer, such as Whole Foods or Trader Joes. read more

I don't ever do this type of thing but I feel the need to say this! I have been shopping at this store since the store opened about 9 years ago. I love this place!!!!!!!!!!! So many times I have felt very welcome including and especially today! Thank you Jesus! The staff today and always!! has been very friendly for the most part over the years! A couple of them in the past were not the best! lol! I have heard they don't get too many raises and that their corporate doesn't care about their employees. That is so sad! No wonder they weren't happy!! I don't understand that! These people care! I always wondered why there was such a high turnover. Lol Some of the ones who have been there a long time seem to stay there because they are very passionate about helping people and they have helped me tremendously!!! Unfortunately some of them aren't there any more. :( I'll never understand why a company doesn't take care of their employees!!!! And especially the dedicated ones!! Are you kidding me??? It is just plain common sense!! LOL These are the people that are the face of your business! Take care of them!! SMH Otherwise, you are going to eventually lose those valuable people and give me no reason to come back to your store!!! Most of your products could be bought online or at Costco for much cheaper. Generally a great store but they should consider partnering with local farmers for organic, raw, and grass fed items such as produce, eggs, honey, beef and poultry. The eggs they currently offer are still mass produced by large commercial farms that aren't know for the humane treatment of the hens or the disposal of young male chickens. On a more positive note, their selection of vitamins, herbs, and dry goods is quite good although some of the same items can be found at both Publix and Walmart for $2-3 less. read more

Don't get me wrong, I love Nutrition S'Mart and all, but I constantly feel ripped off there. I highly advise EVERYONE pay attention to the prices advertised and what you are actually paying for the product. I've now made it a habit to check the receipt before I leave the premises because 9 times out of 10 I have to go right back inside because they charged me wrong for a product. The shelf says one thing, or the item is on sale, but it rings up normal price or different from the price listed. I have brought this issue to the attention of the store manager several times over a span of months but it's obviously still not made a difference. Which makes me feel as if it's perhaps intentional so they can make more money. read more
