I'm one of those folk who still want to keep away from larger crowds and have always wanted a relaxing experience when getting my manicure and pedicures. I absolutely love NV Spa. There is street parking available, wheelchair accessible. There's a bathroom available upstairs /elevator if needed. They use great quality scrubs, masks and lotions, each scent come separately packaged so nothing is in bulk or double dipped. There are so many scents to choose from (my favorites Jasmine,Tangerine and Olive). My nail technician Hannah was gentle and took her time. There was no rush. I have been following and seeing Hannah for years, she's that intuitive and amazing. I'm on my feet for long hours and it's been awhile. There was discomfort with my big toe, Hannah managed to gently extract a massive ingrown toenail with skin attached. There was no bleeding or discomfort, just relief. It's common for me to get ingrown toenails, but this was a first having one this large. so I try and come in at least a half hour to soak. Hannah also gives a detailed facial! Appointment is needed. Hannah was very nice, but more importantly she was very good at what she does. I am 50 and my skin is changing due to menopause-she took time to assess my skin, ask if I had any specific concerns and then provided me with a gentle, but effective facial that addressed my skin congestion, dryness and texture issues. She didn't try to up-sale me or push any products on me... in fact, when I asked for a moisturizer she offered me a sample to try to make sure it worked before I spent money on it. For a spa that just opened in August, they're doing such an amazing job in all the services they offer. I've been going to Emily for eyelash extensions for almost 6 years. She recently started this spa and I can't be more proud! I can vouch for her eyelash extensions and facialsbut decided to try out their other services. I got my usual gel manicure and my nail tech was the most gentle nail tech I've ever had. For one, when she removed my previous gel polish, she didn't force it by soaking it with acetone or by filing it aggressively with her nail drill. She took her time and used a couple of layers of the magic remover--which I appreciated since my nail has been so weak since experimenting with acrylic. I discovered NV Spa when I was looking for a fill. I got my lashes done from another lash artist and she wasn't able to fit me in before my brothers wedding. I knew about NV SPA through a friend and decided to check it out for a facial service and I love the service and the quality work in here. As a cosmetologist, I know alot of SPAs in San Diego and have tried out many places, but for price I pay at NV SPA and the quality work, I would say they are the best. I tried out Han, Tran, Emily and they are so good and very friendly. They took time to discuss with me about my skin problem and the appropriate type of treatment would help my skin get better. I got stressed skin with uneven skin tone with alot of white head pimples and flakey spots due to minor eczema condition. After couple tries, I decided to buy a facial package deal which could save you more and I can also use those gift cards as birthday gift for my moms and girlfriend. To compare to other SPA, it could be a tiny place, but it's very clean and relaxing. Highly recommend to call in advance to make appointment since they are pretty busy. Found this little gem on Google/Yelp and the positive reviews helped me choose this spot for my mani/pedi. It is on the corner and you can't miss it since it's right next to DD with side or front parking. Tip: It's better to call to schedule an appointment so you know ahead of time who is available for whatever service you want. Hana was able to get me in on Sunday afternoon. I told her what I was getting my nails done for and she was able to recommend a gel mani over a regular one since the event I would be attending wouldn't be for another 2 weeks. Mind you, I only get my nails done on special occasions so I didn't think about that ahead of time so that was very thoughtful. I also got an Express pedi as well. Hana was very thorough with cleaning up my cuticles and the nail polish is on point. I came here to have my brows done because mine have faded into nothingness as I've aged. My manicurist has lovely brows; she told me Emily at NV Spa did them, and charges less than most other places. I made an appointment and went to get some brows. Emily takes her time ... measures ... re-measures ... and proceeds slowly and carefully. She checks with you every step of the way. I believe I was there close to theee hours. The result is astonishing! I look better than I have in a long, long time. These brows are NOT TATTOOS. Emily makes OMBRE BRUSH brows. They are long-lasting/semi-permanent. They may need a touch-up in one to three years. Also, getting ombre brush doesn't hurt like tattooing. I came back after one year for a touch up and asked for a lighter color. Emily did exactly what I asked. As an added bonus, Emily is charming. Friendly, professional, and respectful. If you're looking for a master brow artist at a reasonable price, look no further! I discovered Emily when I noticed my cousin's brows. It just looked so natural! Emily really took the time to explain the process and made sure I understood the healing process so that I wouldn't be in shock. The microshading wasn't as painful as I thought it would be. Emily really took her time to map out the brows according to my features. As expected, they were bold when it was done. It looked the same for about 5 days before mine started to scab and peel. Day 5 was the first sign of patches. By day 7 and 8 the patches looked pretty crazy but I was told to be patient and just wait for the scabbing to fall off on its own. By day 9 they looked perfect!!! So nice to just wake up and not have to deal with making my brows look good. My finished look was so natural looking that no one even asked if I had any work done. Not even my closest friends could tell. That alone, should tell you a lot about Emily's work. So I highly recommend her!
