I absolutely love their Carmel Mountain location, but I hate their Point Loma location. I've never had issues at Carmel Mountain, but I constantly have issues in Point Loma. I've repeatedly had issues with their website, allowing you to book on days that they are not open and their website hours on Google saying they're open even when they're not. I've contacted them multiple times about this, but the issue has never been resolved. I'll be honest this was one of the only places I have ever trusted to do my eyebrows and I had a great experience a handful of times I've been to Carmel Mountain. But they really need to get new management for the point Loma location. I know it is new, but that is not an excuse for how it is currently running. I've also heard other reviews from friends of mine saying that they will show up on time for their appointment and the staff is not there and has been up to 30 minutes late for their appointment. I hope to continue to be a customer because I do love the Carmel Valley location, but I really hope they can step it up in point Loma. Overall, I have a bad taste in my mouth from the poor experiences in PL.

Quirky store to how I discovered Ivy…read more.. I came in for my biannual teeth cleaning (I've had the same dentist for a decade), and noticed the receptionist's lashes. They were so pretty and said that their hygienist (she cleans my teeth pretty often), referred her to a lady named Ivy! And yes, my hygienist's lashes were just as pretty as hers! My boyfriend got me my first set on December 2017 (for Christmas) and I became a regular of Ivy's from then to May 2018. I took a couple of months break since, yes, unfortunately lash extensions damage your own lashes. I returned today (October 6, 2018) and decided on the the half-set ($40 for 50 lashes each eye) and they're beautiful. I would argue that they are just as beautiful as what I used to pay for ($99 for over 100 lashes). Ivy is great and she is in a new location (she was in another salon in Mira Mesa) in the Black Mountain area. She has been doing this for years and the hygienist (mentioned above) has been her customer for more than three years. I'm disappointed at the other reviews especially because my lashes were always fabulously done. There might be a bit of a language barrier since English isn't Ivy's first language, but I've never had any problems that were mentioned in the other reviews. She has tried to upsell to me before, but hey, she is a business after all! So, you just say, "no, thank you" (duh?)! Ivy is worth every penny for your lashes. I receive so, so, so many compliments whenever Ivy does my lashes. Ivy's technique makes the extensions look extremely natural and that's because she tries to use as less glue as possible. In terms of the actual process itself, people have different experiences but it's not hurtful by any means. However, there may the occasional "ouch" moment, but you'll survive and love your lashes :) If you haven't done your research (about extensions), I highly suggest you do so prior to getting them. Her current prices are $99 for over 100 lashes or $40 for fifty lashes each eye, which is what I'm wearing in the photos I posted. Let's get real here.. those are cheap compared to others. If you're curious about lash extensions and want to keep it friendly on your pockets, Ivy is a great option. I communicate with her mostly through text and she responds within the same day or the day after. ***Do keep in mind that she only accepts cash.*** I would take the other (negative) reviews with a grain of salt, because, like I said, she does awesome work, she's always been responsive and polite, and her prices are beyond reasonable. Only way to find out is for you to go see her for yourself! I'll be back in two weeks or so for a refill :D I missed them so much, I honestly can't believe I went cold-turkey for months, hah.

After the consultation, I was told that I needed the most expensive facial offered, along with multiple skincare products. Although I wasn't comfortable committing to the cost of the treatments, I felt pressured into purchasing products before leaving. I was also charged for a product that I did not receive at the time and was later told I would need to come back and pick up. After reviewing my purchases and realizing I was uncomfortable with the situation, I contacted Kim within a couple of weeks to request a refund. Since then, my texts and calls have gone unanswered. Prior to this, I had received frequent calls and messages encouraging me to book treatments and purchase products, so the lack of communication once I requested a refund has been disappointing. When entering, I get hit with the hottest room ever. The thermostat was reading above 82°. When I ask if we can turn the air conditioning on, I was told they weren't able to because they needed a key and the owner of lashes desire was the only one who had it and didn't allow them any access to it. The two businesses who rent from here have all rights to utilities as they pay rent and us clients who pay services should not have to deal with being uncomfortable. The owner is being completely unethical. During a few of my encounters, I've heard her bad mouth the two businesses to her clients WHILE me and other clients are getting services done. We all stay quiet to keep it respectful but truthfully, I would love to say something because the two businesses renting from her have been nothing but great to me. The city of San Diego needs to come into this business and expect the facility. During a heat wave, the air conditioning NEEDS to be provided at ALL times.
