We got a dog a while ago at NY Breeders. While we did get a dog there, we did not feel that the conditions at the facility were up to par. The odor there was overwhelming (maybe the term stench would be more appropriate.) I do have to compliment the line staff - they really did seem to care but the manager at the place (Linda) was absolutely rude to us and was pulling all of the emotional purchase tricks you could imagine. She was not helpful and was literally pushing us to purchase the dog on the spot. The line staff were awesome- answering questions and giving ideas that showed their knowledge and empathy for the animals they tended to. Well, we fell in love with one and took it home but the conditions in my opinion could be far better. I hope they clean up their act and speak to the manager about her terrible demeanor. These two factors prevent me from recommending them and I suggest others go elsewhere to make such an important purchase of a lifelong friend. read more

DON'T EVER BUY A PUPPY FROM HERE!!!! I purchased my puppy from their CT store. My puppy was terribly sick with 105 fever 3 days after bringing him home and almost died. After contacting ct breeders and sending them all the medical information from the hospital and my vet, in addition to a letter from my vet clearly stating he had a bacterial infection, they refused to take any responsibility. They were rude, argumentative, and insisted the puppy was healthy when I brought him home. They insinuated the puppy must have gotten sick once home suggesting he ate something poisonous from outside when he's had never even been outside as I was paper training him. They had absolutely no regard or compassion for what my family was going through and did not once even ask about the well being of the puppy. So in addition to having to pay a ridiculously absurd amount for my puppy, I also had to incur the cost of the hospital bill. Please, find another place to buy a puppy!! read more

At first we walked in just looking around not having in mind to get any dog since we had a certain budget. We started to look around and AUTOMATICALLY fell in love with this small pup. When we asked for the price he was way out of our league we decided to just ask to see him and Gina allowed us to see him a private room, that was our "wish we could afford him".. We walked out but 30 minutes passed by and we came straight back for him. After leaving Ny Breeder nothing was the same all I could think about was this pup and YES we got him. Gina, Gary and another young lady were very helpful, nice and gave us the right information on him and it makes me happy to now know this little pup is in a home full of love. Gina did tell us to give him time and to have patience since he was a baby he was not going to adopt fast, but LIES (of course not on her part) more on the dog's part. He was the happiest he could be, he adapted in the second day and it's amazing how fast he is potty trained now and it's only our 4th day with him. He feels the BIG love we have for him!! OVERALL I know adoption is always better but it doesn't always work out for everyone so if you have a store in mind I recommend this place. I understand that there are those out there that don't support pet stores and I do understand why. If that sounds like you, by all means, support your local animal shelter (like Briarcliff SPCA). However, having adopted both stray animals in the past and having purchased two puppies from NY Breeder, I am satisfied that they are running a safe, solid business with good principles. Four years ago, we bought a beagle puppy and he has been healthy, happy, and we couldn't ask for a better disposition. He has been a blessing to our family. Fast forward four years and we are back at NY Breeder, this time buying a Cavalier King James. Again, she is a wonderful addition to our family. I have no complaints with this business. The staff is very knowledgeable about dogs and has a vast amount of experience with them. With each buying experience, we were given papers indicating who the breeder was, complete with name, location, and who the canine parents of our dogs were. Complete medical records were included as well. Buying, training, and integrating a new puppy can be an emotionally-charged experience for all involved, and for those with little experience in raising a puppy, there is so much to know, especially with regards to discipline. This business has always made itself available to its customers for after-sale support, offering advice and consultation in all areas. I would not purchase a puppy from this place again!!!! I purchased a sick puppy in August 2019. Since that time, the puppy has needed two hip surgeries. Good luck getting reimbursement for the cost of the your dog even though there are laws and I have a signed contract. I have paid out $13,000 in medical bills. The store manager, Annemarie is unprofessional and will avoid paying you back at all cost. I am only asking for the cost of the dog back which is stated in the contract. She made me send all of my doctor bills and documentation and ensured me that I would be reimbursed after it was reviewed. That was over two months ago. Thus far, she has avoided all my attempts to contact her in hopes that I will just go away. She in never available and comes up with multiple excuses on why this matter has not been resolved. She will also not call you back or respond to text messages. Customer service is not Annemarie's strong point!!! read more

I purchased a yorkie dog last week on Saturday. Sunday I noticed a little cough but did think anything of it by Wednesday her cough got worst and she stop eating and wasn't that playful anymore. I took her on Friday to the vet and the nice male Veterinarian took care of my yorkie quick and did an X-ray on her to only see that she has pneumonia she stood in the vet for 4 days. I have her back now but she still has a little cough. I really don't recommend NY breeder if people want to but a puppy there. Couple of dogs that was bought there was sick 5 days later. read more

So the owner Gary just responded to my review 3 months after I left it. He said my review was not exactly the truth because he has 3 full time cleaners and 5 HVAC systems. Well unfortunately the review is true for the day and time we went there. There was even a help wanted sign on the door for a cleaner at the time I wrote the review. He also said that the scraper was used to clean the feces from the cage floor. If the cages were cleaned in an appropriate time then there would be no need for a scraper. The 3 full time cleaners would be able to just wipe up and pick up the feces with paper towels. He then basically accused me of writing the review just to advertise another breeder but at his expense. I wasn't advertising another breeder. I was just stating that due to the poor conditions in his store we ended up getting a dog at another place. Sorry if the truth hurts. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Gary, don't be mad that I gave you a negative review. Use it to better your establishment instead of whining. I didn't trash your "fine" business. I merely stated what my experience was when I came to your business. I have only posted 3 reviews as anyone can see. There is only 1 negative though and it was of your business. I am giving this place two stars. While they were great when we first met the puppy and when we took her home. The follow up was less than stellar. I reached out to let them know that our dog had earmites and a very bad ear infection, at first they said they would take care of the cost, every time I followed up they never returned my call or got in touch with the vet that they referred us too. I can only hope that when I let them know that the puppy had earmites that they treated all the other puppies in the store. read more

Going into this store it is nice and clean and it seemed like the staff was very nice and cared about the overall health about the animals. My fiance and I have been looking for a dog for awhile, not agreeing on what type of dog, etc. I saw a few puppies I thought were very sweet and wanted to hold one (never having held a french bulldog before this was one of the choices we were thinking of). But they said no unless we were absolutely going to buy...due to the dogs getting ill etc. So I was happy with that answer and decided that was fine. I wanted to ask about prices...getting a dog is a 14+ year decision so knowing how much some of these dogs go for is important to know. I went up to the desk (I assumed the guy I went up to was the owner) and let them know I wanted to know about prices. They refused to tell me how much they cost...giving round about answers. Then the owner started asking me very personal questions...saying he is "a behaviorist" and wanted to know why my fiance and I are not agreeing on getting a dog what type etc. I did not mind answering some of these questions because I am sure when they sell a dog they want to make sure it is in a good home. Then the conversation started getting very strange. I am not sure what his selling technique was but saying that I have months until we get married to decide whether or not we get married as if buying a dog from him was a breaking point was the most bizarre thing I have ever heard someone I have never even met say to me. He is a very sad man. I left there saying I hope this place gets shut down because there is no way these animals are in good care if he is taking care of them. Let me first start by saying that I was looking for a red, f1b mini golden doodle for over a year. Evidently, it is hard to find a reputable breeder that doesn't have a long waiting list. We then decided to shop local and call NY Breeders. From the start Linda was knowledgeable and honest. she told us that this particular breed is in high demand and should come from a good breeder and she will reach out to her guy for us. We told her that we would be patient and be willing to wait for what we wanted. Mind you it was Christmas...But in January we got the call! We picked up our Red f1b mini golden doodle... he was sweet, beautiful and turns out in perfect health at our first vet visit. The visit and vaccinations were included as promised. Also, when we picked him up Robin, Gary and Christian were so helpful and trained us for a few hours so that we could take our "Zuko" home confidently. One day I find my self driving and I see this very nice puppy store and I decide to pull in never expecting to buy a puppy. When I walk in I see this wall of beautiful puppies and a wonderful staff and truly has a passion for animals. I take a walk around and I peek in the back room and I see a bunch of puppies playing with each other looking very happy and healthy. Then of course one catches my eye and I had to ya with her and they were very happy to take the time to tell me all about her and less than 30 minutes go buy and I walk out with an English Bulldog! This place has so many different breeds to pick from and I'm sure they could get you anything. They also have a large selection of toys, food, beds... I bring my puppy back once a week to be cleaned and she loves going back because I see how much love they show my puppy. This place is a must see even if you are not in the market at the moment for a puppy. But be warned you might be like me and fall in love! read more

If you can make it past the smell, you can find an older groomer having a nice chat on her phone while she's grooming your dog. I came here to purchase a chocolate lab for my family. We went in and met what I believe the owner. Very rude. I asked if there were any chocolate labs. He put us in a room with one. The dog looked so scared. Sat in the corner the whole time. Everytime he would come near the door and look at the dog the dog would just sit in the corner with his head down as if he was going to get hit. Not how a lab should be. Then I asked if I could come back later that day and bring my 8 month old son there, the guys response "are you gonna leave a deposit?" I said no I have to see how he interacts with my son first. The owner and the staff took all the joy out of getting a puppy! They were rude, condescending and paranoid. When I tried to find out information about my new puppy's age, background and potty arrangement and to straighten out bad advice I was given by his manager, Gary, the owner. became extremely paranoid and very, very defensive. This was his written response, "either you try to catch me on things, feel I am lying to you, or in some way did illegal acts or we train your dog. This is the last time I am going address BS." To questions about his age and how long he was in a crate, Gary wrote, "I know you are a teacher so I assume you can do the math." When struggling with the training needing help, Gary wrote, "I will NOT waste my time on someone that does not learn." (all quotes come directly from messenger on FB, as calls and emails went unanswered) FINALLY your deal for lifetime training expires when you ask too many questions and assert yourself. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! Not only will you leave with Fleas on your body, and the smell of ammonia everywhere, but the animals in this place are all cooped up. They never get let out or a chance to socialize with people. The cages are no bigger than a couple feet and they look depressed. LOSE/LOSE SITUATION, theres more animals in the back cages you don't even know about. Who knows how they're treated there. It's awful to think that the poor souls in this store never come out of their cages and they are the ones being punished for the cruelty the staff puts on. "Won't show dog unless you will purchase" fucking, seriously? Sadly, it's tempting to purchase there only because you feel bad for the unfortunate souls that got stuck in the wrong body at the wrong time. If I didn't have to give a star I wouldn't this place sells sick dogs. I purchased one last week and she almost died on me. She had to be hospitalized due to Pneumonia, and had distemper and had a parasite. Her bills cost more than the dog. They washed their hands of her claiming that they have a vet who would treat her for free. However the Vet bill cost he did not refund back to me. I found NY Breeders online, and contacted Gary about their available teacup puppies. My boyfriend and I went by the shop to meet the pups, and I instantly fell in love with a little dorkie! The staff was super friendly and helpful and let us play with a few puppies, and answered all my hundreds of questions about doggie care :) I didn't leave with my dog that day as I wanted to get my home puppy-ready, but I was able to pay a portion of his cost to reserve him. Over the following week Dina and the other girls at the shop were kind enough to send me pics and updates of my little ricky :) I returned the following weekend to pick him up and bring him home. The girls helped me with all the supplies and info I could possibly need- I was totally prepared thanks to them. They also referred me to a great Veterinarian at Dakota Vets. My Ricky has been well cared for from the beginning and I am so thankful I found him here. If/when I get a friend for him, I will go back to NY breeders read more

My Wife and I visited the store last week to look at puppies. We found a male Havanese and told the staff we might come back later in day with our sons. I called the store later to ask about the breeder's name for the havanese and they refused to give me any information, they insisted we come back to store and would be shown all the paperwork. As I spoke to the salesperson, someone who I believe is the owner, Gary, picked up the phone and rudely told me that I should go right to a breeder and to not come back to the store and then hung up on me. I was shocked by his unprofessionalism and immaturity. They are obviously trying to hide important problems or they would have been more upfront. They lost our business and I certainly hope no one else uses them ever. read more
