The service was great, very friendly. We had pepperoni pizza and a steak calzone. The pizza had a great flavor to it and the bottom crust was spot on. This is my second visit to this restaurant and once again I am impressed with their food and customer service. I was having kind of a rough day but this visit definitely put a smile on my face and in my belly. The stromboli is actually made from the ingrdients that normally go into one of their sandwiches..."The New Yorker". I love this type of sandwich and I love it even more after having it is a stromboli. I could never buy there again after watching the worker prepare the meatball sub. First she pulled out a bag Walmart Great Value Meatballs and microwaved them until half done. After chopping the meatballs in half, came the sauce over the balls along with their dirty rubber gloves to mix it. The worker didn't waste a bit of sauce left on the paper plate, so she wiped the sauce on the meatball sub with the same dirty glove. I wanted to say, "never mind," when I saw her wipe the dirty rubber gloves with a paper towel instead of getting a clean pair. At this point, I stopped watching. The crust must be crispy and it should be rigid when folded so the point of the slice doesn't flop over. For the most part, the pizza was great. Right amount of cheese and right amount of pepperoni. The sauce had a great flavor and wasn't too sweet. The crust, however, was a little softer than I would expect from a NY hand tossed. When folding the point flopped over. Still, the family has been on the search for good pizza since we moved to this area...and I think we just found it. The guys ordered a Margarita pizza; I ordered the New Yorker sandwich. My sandwich came out first- toasted rye with a hint of sweetness, spicy mustard and piled high with lean meat. Delicious! And then the pizza came out- it was a beautiful thing. Simple as sexy, with fresh mozzarella and basil , drizzled with olive oil after it came out of the oven. A nice thin crust with a bit of a chew. The boys loved it- and once I agreed to a small bite, I had to eat a whole slice. And believe it or not, next time I come back, it will be for pizza! I was working in the area and needed a quick lunch. It was recommended to me to try the pizza at this restaurant as it is quick and inexpensive. They have a selection of subs as well, but the pizza seems to be the favorite (at least when I was there). I ordered to slices to go as well as a fountain drink. I think I paid around $6. The slices were HUGE! I think i would have been fine with one. My only slight complaint was that it was pretty greasy. I did get the white pizza, which has a lot of cheese and can mean extra grease. The crust was a little like boxed pizza, the cheese was sparse and the sauce had very little flavor, except grease. I wouldn't come back here unfortunately.
