I have been apart of Nyack Boot Camp since day one. Never in my life have I ever stuck to an exercise routine for so long. Beth and Peter are two of the most caring people I know and craft a wonderful class that works to build both strength and endurance. But above all else, the put the safety of their clients first. They will stop class if they see students breaking kettle bell form and make necessary corrections so nobody gets hurt. Sadly I've had to take a short break this summer (2015) for travel and to pursue a swimming goal. I know class has made me stronger and my swimming has benefited from all the strength training. Admittedly my body misses class, but what I miss more is the amazing support Beth and Peter show their students and the camaraderie with my fellow classmates. When looking for a place to begin organized exercise at the beginning of the year, I went to Nyack Boot Camp without knowing what HIIT was. As a 70 year old with several physical limitations, it was a "wakeup call." The staff does make an effort to work with your limitations. However, I had concluded it was a little "above my pay grade". After the first month I found several gyms that have trainers I could work with and kettle bell training was available. Paid the trainer by the hour and gyms were very reasonably priced. Designed training that worked with my limits. Happier and healthier as a result. I go to the gym to get fit; not to get hurt. Cross-fit seemed like a natural fit for a retired Marine. Nyack Boot Camp, Beth Chamberlin, and Peter Roy have been invaluable to me, my health, my weight, my fitness and my overall sense of self. Since joining and working out at Nyack Boot Camp in early 2014, I have gained strength and endurance. Beth and Peter provide rigorous, diverse and fun workouts. Age and ability levels are a mix (I'm 58 yrs). Every student is treated with respect and personal attention. The hour sessions fly by. I've been working out with Nyack boot camp for over two years and I cannot say enough about how much I love it. I have gotten so much stronger and I feel so much better! After years of lower back and knee problems I have slowly been able to get rid of them because my body has finally gotten strong in all the places it needs to. I am a huge fan of Nyack Boot Camp. The work out is incredible, and the environment is supportive and non judgmental. All emphasis is on strength NOT being skinny. Beth has great energy and makes everyone feel welcome no matter age or body type. I've played competitive tennis now for several years and this is the first year I have not had to deal with injuries. Beth and Peter are terrific certified instructors who offer effective, challenging and creative high intensity work outs. The class never gets easier because once you come near a plateau, there they are to rev things up another notch! They also differentiate for their clients from beginner to advanced.
