My surgeon cleared me to begin working with a personal trainer at four weeks post-op, and since I had dropped in a few classes with IFA last Spring, I knew where to go. Saro listened to my doctor's orders/restrictions and focused on helping me stabilize my core muscles at first while (not so subtly) teaching me solid long term lifestyle habits to make the effects of this surgery count for the long haul. I started seeing him once a week in September and have had 12 personal training sessions. In that time my endurance has shot threw the roof, I can almost squat my max and I can do (assisted) pull ups for the first time in my life!! (My butt also looks great ) Most importantly, I feel like I am in the best shape of my life. I have slowly increased to 6 training days a week, varying my workouts. I could not have gotten here so quickly or been so strong without the instruction of the coaches at IFA. I was strong, but I also dealt with injuries, inconsistency, and workouts that often felt more punishing than productive. Training with Michael has been completely different. For the past two years, I've been going about three times a week, and it's been the most consistent--and honestly the most enjoyable--I've ever been with fitness. I've lost 25 pounds, feel better overall, and for the first time, it feels sustainable. What stands out most is how he trains. Sessions are small (usually just a few people), so you get real personal attention without it feeling intense or intimidating. He adjusts everything to your level, keeps you moving, and somehow makes it challenging without it ever feeling overwhelming. He's also extremely knowledgeable and thoughtful--especially if you've had prior injuries or struggled with staying consistent. You feel like you're making progress without beating your body up. To recap, I was…read moreusing the rower when I was told by staff that the rower will need to be used for the HIIT class which will be starting in a few minutes. I did not get off the rower since there were other rowers available for the class. I spoke with the manager and requested a rower be moved up to the second level with the other cardio machines. I primarily use the rower since it's a total body workout. When I entered the gym today, I was pleasantly surprised to see staff and the manager moving a rower upstairs, as I had requested. I felt validated and not dismissed. Having the rower upstairs is a game changer. I no longer hear the blasting music and I am actually able to focus on my workout.

She devised a plan that allowed me to strengthen the muscles I needed to making sure my back was always supported and I was comfortable with exercise. She was very aware of my firm and made sure I was doing everything g correctly. After a couple of months with her I feel infinitely more comfortable in the gym and using the equipment and I see the results. The pain in my shoulder and back have gone away. They work with you individually to learn the workouts. They modify the workouts to allow you to not feel overwhelmed with all the new exercises. I've never really done much with free weights so I had (have) a lot to learn and the coaches make it a pleasure. The place is not fancy by any stretch but if you want to get in shape check it out!!!!
