THE GOOD: I was a member here for 18 months. It cost me $70/month. It is a respectable gym with…read morepretty terrible parking. You must cross the road to get to the entrance, which is ok. I think commuters and other businesses share the parking lot with gym patrons, making it a long walk to the front. Inside, Vision Sports Club is a pleasant place. It's large; it's always chilly inside - but overall, this gym has decent workout space (even for serious lifting). The showers are clean, and the locker room is impeccable. There are classes, but most of them are located in the far corner of the building in a warehouse-like setting. The only instructor worth mentioning is Janice, who is quite good. The gym overall has no character - I think it's a cross between a Gold's gym and a Planet Fitness. THE BAD: When quitting the gym - I moved away from the area - the manager gave me a VERY hard time. They charged me for nearly 2 extra months, and when I complained, she went off on a personal attack asking me my age, questioning my maturity level, yelling, etc. No explanation was given, other than "that's the way we do it." From what I did understand, I was 3 days into the month, so I had to pay for that month AND the next (I was on month-to-month basis at the time). So I paid, and politely left. I'm not coming back.

I remember being exhausted, laughing uncontrollably into my mat as she hovered above the ground with a foot behind her head, incessantly jibing us to man up and follow suit... Anyone who raises the bar in such a way is worth spending time with. Personally, pertaining though not limited to my asana practice, my ability and resolve has been both tried and nourished through Bonnie's guidance. It's refreshing to have found a teacher who not only shares her love of the practice but also herself with her students. I'm grateful for the time spent with Bonnie both on and off the mat and would like to thank her for being a constant source of support and compassion. I encourage anyone interested in deepening their practice to visit Bonnie at the Shala she has poured her heart into. Love, Light, and Sparkles.

I came across a Facebook post about Varsity House and figured why not. On my first day I met with Mike, and we went through my history and my fitness goals, and he didn't care that I hadn't been to the gym in forever. There was no judgement just support of my new fitness journey, and this made all the difference. They have a notice on the door as you go in that says "You did the hard part; we'll take it from here"- This is so true! While I may not be a morning person I look forward to my workouts at Varsity and can't thank Coach Mike & also Coach Alex enough for their help and support.

Her name is Charlene. I was hesitant when I first walked into the gym. I expected everyone to be skinny and that is not me. I was showed around the gym and met Charlene. I felt very comfortable and because of her I was able to let go of my anxiety and now she trains me 3-4 times a week. Without Charlene there is no way I would've been able to feel as comfortable as I do in the gym and to train as often as I do. I actually look forward to my training days. The workout spaces were immaculately clean, the equipment is plentiful and all in working condition, and they had just about any piece of equipment you might need. She provides excellent support and motivation while keeping the workouts upbeat and tailor made to my individual needs. She is really flexible offering group workouts and personal training. I also love that she mixes up the workouts each week often finding an outdoor space to work out when weather permits. She's an excellent trainer and I recommend her to anybody looking for a tough and fun workout!
