Which also means there's lots of competition and the food is good! It's a smallish space, with about 8 tables. They have a cooler by the door for soft drinks, and by the cash register they have the traditional spiced sweet hot tea.. that's complimentary as well. They had one attentive and busy server, who took the time to speak to the patrons and make everyone feel welcome. They cover the tables with b plastic, and switch it after every seating. The salad is basic with some cumin and saffron. The lamb bone broth is very flavorful. It's rich, very cummin-y. Absolutely delicious. The bread is fresh and home made. The saltah is a thick veggie stew that comes bubbling in a crock. So flavorful. Get the fennel slurry on top! The lamb dish was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. It was not gamey and was nicely spiced. Their homemade hot sauce was not spicy, but was flavorful. We also got this date and clotted cream. It was very dense, and not terribly sweet. It felt like something I'd want with an afternoon tea, as a pick me up, more than a dessert. I will be back.

I was the last to eat, so I was surprised that it was still warm and not soggy. Packaging was executed very well for delivery. The shawarma had juicy and crispy pieces. Nicely seasoned. The wrap also had tomatoes and I believe pickled turnips. Turnips were pretty acidic and salty which made them poignant on their own; however, they were excellent in the sandwich as they provided a perfect compliment to the savory meat. I think the laffa was lightly fried and pressed which made it very sturdy. It great introduction to Egyptian food for those who enjoy burritos. I also sampled the falafel, the hummus, and the babaghanoush. I enjoyed the falafel and the babaghanoush the most out of those three. Falafel was crispy without being dry. I'm eager to try these freshly fried at the restaurant.

I also tried Laziza pineapple for the first time and really enjoyed it. I believe I briefly met the owner and he was very friendly and checked in to see how my meal was, which I appreciated. The dine-in experience itself wasn't my favorite though. The restaurant is extremely small, and I ended up seated by the door so it got cold every time it opened (which was often since they're busy). There was also a large reservation while I was there that made the space pretty loud and hectic. The person running the front also came off a bit rude. When I ordered the Laziza, I was told to grab it myself, which would have been fine, but the bottle needed an opener that I didn't have--so I had to go back again to get one. Not a huge deal, but it felt a little awkward. Overall: great food, but because of the tight space and the service experience I'd probably stick to takeout next time instead of dining in. Still worth trying if you're in RVC.

We ordered a bunch of appetizers to share and Mix Grill entrees for our party of 7. I would say it's a pretty simple and standard order. No deviations, substitutions, or anything out of the ordinary. Despite that, our drinks took ~20 minutes, the appetizers took 30+ minutes, and our entrees 30+ minutes after that. The Mint Lemonade was so small and tasted artificial. For ~$9, I expect more. The only appetizers worth trying are the Hummus Baba Ganouj, and Falafel. Everything else sadly missed the mark. The Fatoush & Tabouleh were promising but pretty sad. It lacked dressing (lemon and olive oil), flavor, and there were way too many unnecessary lettuce leaves on or around the bowl. I did enjoy the Zikrayat Mix Grill. The meats were tender, well-seasoned, and juicy, the rice was light and fragrant, and it was filling. I found the appetizers to be overpriced and along with the extremely slow service, I didn't leave feeling like it was worth it. I don't think I'll be back.

We Love their food and have been ordering with them for years, but why am I getting spoken to like I'm a child. UPDATE: Hi Mike! Please, where in my review did I call your staff children, I said they spoke to me like I was a child ? When I called I said my husbands first name instead of last name which we quickly realized. I wasn't rude to her, I didn't know making a mistake would cause you to be so upset. Things happens , mistakes are made I tried fixing it and was met with immediate frustration from your staff. You guys have a rep for never taking responsibility for your bad attitude towards customers. This was such a simple issue, and I have the right to voice my experiences. I didn't leave out any details. If I was nasty I'd understand your response, but attacking every customer that has something to say just isn't professional. I am also not a person that believes the customer is always right , but when did it become to standard to respond with such disregard. Hey Mike, that's totally within your right as the owner to make that call, I wasn't planning on supporting you going forward anyway so it works out for both of us. Have a happy holiday.

Now the food, wow. I had the Falafel House Platter, two friends ordered the regular falafel platters, and my wife had the gyro platter. Every single dish was stellar. Everything is made to order, and you can taste the freshness in every bite. The falafel was hands down some of the most flavorful and perfectly textured I've ever had, crispy on the outside and tender and herby on the inside.
