Green line movers were a godsend during our recent Manhattan move. They were super easy to work with prior to the move, and very adaptive to requests for insurance certificates and changing move times (thanks to overbearing buildings and their changing elevator bookings..gah!). We had 3 guys come with a truck and several dollies to move boxes and plenty blankets for our furniture. They were very careful and efficient in dissembling/assembling our furniture, and were extra cautious with specific items that I asked them to be more gentle with. One of our cabinets did get damaged slightly, but the main guy refunded the entire price of the cabinet from our total cost. One of the best mover experiences ever. Highly recommended for the NY tristate area. Boris was very easy to deal with. I had some extra stuff than I was quoted for and the extra cost was very reasonable. Other movers use this as a chance to take advantage and overcharge. This happened in my last move and they added $500 to the quoted amount. Not Green Line! Thank you Boris for making this hectic move a little less hectic. They came into my apartment and wrapped everything in plastic wrap to make sure there were no scratches during the move. Green Line Movers was one of the best decisions I made when I moved! I think I had Baja and Max as movers, and one other mover in the truck. They moved me all the way from UWS to FiDi and it was so smooth. Nothing was broken or damaged and I thought they were very professional and efficient. Best movers ever! Rate was also really good. I had one bedroom of stuff to move - 2 floor lamps, bed, dresser, nightstand, carpet, needed 3 wardrobe boxes and some other stuff. I used Green line Movers for my move yesterday and overall was pleased with the experience. The guys did a great job wrapping up all my furniture and so far have not found anything broken or damaged. The move ended up taking closer to 5 hours for a one bedroom apt and they did not charge any extra from the original quote, except for a few wardrobe boxes we used. The quote had said 3 movers but in actuality it was two movers and one guy staying with the truck, which was fine. My only complaint is that the head guy did ask for more tip, which I found to be uncomfortable. I had already given one of the movers his tip, and given the head mover the remainder, and he asked for more tip for the third guy who was sitting in the truck. I had already tipped 20% so this seemed unreasonable. Overall, the experience was a positive one and I would use Green line again. The price was the best by far out of all of our quotes, and Boris was easy to work with. read more

I had an amazing experience with greenline movers. The price was great, with no extra charges for stairs or the disassembly and reassembly of my bed. Their movers were super professional and careful about all of my furniture, having me inspect each piece for any scratches or tears before they took it away. They also brought covers and blankets to cover all of my pieces and everything came out of the truck exactly the way it went it. They were also incredibly quick, arriving 10 minutes early and moving me from the east village to fort greene in a little more than 2 hours. Pre-moving my experience was great as well. I spoke with Boris every step of the way and he helped me reschedule my move a few times and answered all of my questions very quickly. I recently used NYC Green line movers to move from the Upper West Side to Brooklyn. They arrived on time and were very easy to work with. Most companies charge based on what floor you live on/number of stairs, but Green line movers was a set $80/hr, which was great. (No hidden fees!). Since I was moving out of an apartment with 2 other people, only certain boxes needed to be moved. I was able to designate what needed to be moved and they even provided bubble wrap and and tape for fragile objects. They made the entire process very simple--I got a quick, cheap quote by phone, booked it in minutes, got a confirmation email a couple of days later, and also a call the day before the move. The movers were pleasant to work with, and did a great job. These guys helped with my move from Jersey City to Brooklyn a couple of weeks ago, and they did an awesome job! They showed up a few minutes early and got to work right at 9am. They took great care in taking apart my furniture and wrapping things properly. Nothing was damaged in the process of moving. There were a couple of hiccups (one on my part and one on their part), so the cost ended up going over what was quoted to me initially. The manager, Alex, worked with me on this issue and said that his main concern was whether or not I was happy with their service. I really appreciated that. I was under such a tight budget, so my only regret was that I wasn't able to give them as big of a tip I had originally planned on giving them. I used NYC Green Line for my apartment to apartment move within the city this past weekend. First off, I requested a move for 9am on Memorial Day and they said no problem. They showed up thirty minutes early and got to work. There were 4 guys total so it took them a little less than 4 hours to move my large studio apartment to my new apartment and they did everything except pack my boxes. They wrapped all my mirrors and furniture and were very careful. They disassembled my kitchen table to get it out the door then reassembled it in the new apartment. They even took my front door off and put it back on to get my couch out. The new apartment I was moving into is a third floor walk up and they carried everything. They also removed the A/C unit from my old apartment window because I knew I wouldn't be able to. These guys were so great, professional, and speedy. Boris was extremely responsive to my emails and very thorough with the details so there were no surprises. The price was exactly what we agreed upon before the move (no scams, no gimmicks) and they even threw in a few free boxes when I realized I needed them. The NYC Green Line Movers Corp and Green Line Moving Corp (in NJ) are the same company. Their mover staff were not honest, they said they spent an hour trying to find parking and billed us for that, but during that time we kept calling them, but they never told us there was a parking problem, otherwise we could tell them how to park the truck in the neighborhood. Finally we nailed them down and asked them to park at the available spot, but they insisted to bill us for the time wasted. They also broke two piece of glass shelves in our book cabinet and hide it from us. We were off guard and didn't find out until after them left. They are not professional or ethical at all, during the move which they bill us by hour, the staffs would touch or ask about whatever they found it interest, or even spend time on texting/surfing on their cell phone, or chitchatting rather than work. These crooks are overcharging and not trustworthy. Should give them 0 star read more

A few of my friends used these guys and had good things to say and by the yelp reviews I thought I would be in good hands. I haven't moved in five years and the last time I did move I only had a few suitcases so friends of mine helped so this was my first "NYC moving experience". Talking to Boris on the phone was smooth and seamless and he called me the day before the move as he said he would. I was moving from a 1 bedroom (5th floor walk up) on the UES to a two bedroom (2nd floor) in Astoria. My appt. was scheduled for 6pm on Saturday. The movers were 1.5 hrs early! Earlier is better than late, but I wasn't as prepared as I wanted to be. I borrowed a friend's car and was just pulling up to my apt when I saw the truck so I didn't have time to find street parking and had to park it in a garage across the street and pay $40 for two hours of parking! Not even 30 minutes into moving and the main guy, I forget his name (I had four movers, one truck) said that it was very hot and if I could go and buy them four bottled waters or sodas....wait, what? I was in the middle of trying to pack up everything like speedy gonzalez since they were 1.5 hrs early and he wanted me to stop and go down to the corner store and get them something to drink...? Look, I get it, it's hot, they are moving heavy furniture, but still, I thought it was rude of him to ask and he didn't ask very nicely. As I was going downstairs to buy them sodas (I felt like I had to because they were handling my things and I didn't want them to get angry/mad and do anything to it) one of the men, made a gesture with his hand like he wanted something to drink. I mean, what the heck! I felt like telling them to go take a break on their own time to eat, drink, and rest and come back at 6pm like they were scheduled and then everything would be set to go. Once I came back with the sodas and went upstairs to finish packing my things, they disappeared for 10-15 min I assume to take a break and drink their sodas. Okay, again, I understand people aren't machines or work horses, but they just arrived 30 min prior. The move at the first location took about 2.5 hours and I saw only two men the majority of the time, the third guy was downstairs with the truck, but I didn't know what the fourth guy was doing. I asked the main guy in a sort of annoyed tone where the third man was and mumbled something I didn't understand and kept working. We made it to Astoria and the move into that apt and set up only took an hour which was much quicker. They put together my things and nothing was broken or damaged, which was good. The main guy asked me to check everything and make sure everything was okay, which I appreciated. I offered one of them men who walked by the kitchen a glass of water and he said "Is it from the tap?" and I said, "Yes", and he gave this appalled look and walked away. Sheesh. The quote for the move was $378 for 3 hrs w/ four men and a truck and each additional 1/2 hr was $54. They started at 4:40pm and were gone by 8:20pm, however the main guy wrote 8:40pm on the receipt and I honestly didn't notice since I just wanted to be done with this. So I paid $486.00 total and I tipped them $140, so $35 to each guy which I thought was very generous. In all, I'm glad my furniture is in tact and nothing was broken, but the next time I move (hopefully not for another five years) I will most likely go with someone else. They were not terrible by any means, but it wasn't the best experience, but when is moving ever fun anyway! I am not saying these things to get anyone pissed, fired, angry, etc. I'm just letting people know my experience. Happy moving!! read more

The move went well...right up until the end. They moved everything quickly and carefully (although my TV may have been damaged during the move). Then when we were paying, they tried to insist I had to pay in cash when I had specifically been told I could pay with a cashiers check. They finally agreed to take the check. Then after I have them a generous 30% tip, they said they received a parking ticket during the move that I had to pay for. I said that wasn't my fault. They could have moved their truck so they weren't double-parked, but they chose not to. The guy in charge argued with me for 5-10 minutes trying to get me to pay at least part of the ticket. I'm not going to give you a huge tip and then pay for your parking ticket too. When they finally gave up arguing, they sat in their truck outside my house for 20 minutes. I was starting to think I was going to have to call the police to get rid of them. After they left, I noticed they left garbage all over my lawn like tape and plastic wrapping. This company is less expensive and does a decent job with the move, but their customer service sucks so I would definitely never use them again. read more
