I went to get a respiratory test today because my doctor had found a slight restriction in my breathing. He gave me the referral and then I called them here. When I first called to make an appointment, the lady on the phone told me that I needed to fax the referral in. I thought that this was going to be the beginning of a painful process. I was totally wrong. I got the appointment a few weeks in advance. Everyone from the front desk, the doctor's assistant who did most of my testing, the doctor (Dr. Sukumaran), and x-ray technician were awesome! I found out all of my results right there with no waiting at all. That in itself, was really great not to have to wait weeks to get results! NYU Langone Trinity Center is part of the NYU Empire, of which the Medical Province is a very large tail on a very large dog. Like all such critters, it has its points -- and its fleas. It is a good place if one gets a smart physician who knows things, who has sufficient experience as to be able to address one's presenting medical problem, or who knows enough to send one to the right specialist. BUT: One may get a "Doogie Howser". After many years in our neighborhood, our "primary care physician" as we must now call the family medical man gave up his own offices and moved into this place. He took his staff and his records with him. He is a very competent physician; he KNOWS stuff. He is both learned in his discipline and a master of its lore. My wife and I have patronized many physicians over the years; we keep coming back to this man, because he is on top of things. Not so How Wan Ha, M.D., who also hangs her stethoscope on a peg at NYU Langone Trinty Center (hereinafter NYULTC). My wife developed a nasty rash, with substantial pain. We called in to NYULTC; our family medical man was booked up and NYULTC has no provision for slipping someone in on an emergency basis. The telephoniste suggested an ER or "Urgent Care" shop; we suggested finding someone else in the NYULTC shop who could see my wife that day. Up popped How Wan Ha, M.D.. No bookings that afternoon. At the appointed time, my wife showed up (me in tow). She was shortly ushered into the examining room; sometime later she emerged with the comment that she was diagnosed with shingles, and had been given a prescription for Valtrex. The diagnosis made sense; Valtrex is a good response. But shingles is about SERIOUS pain. Nothing prescribed for pain. No instruction on pain management. Nada. Zip. Bupkes. I point this out; my wife goes back, finds the nurse; the nurse finds Young Dr. Ha, who graciously consents to explain further. This time I am with my wife. I note in conversation with Young Dr. Ha that pain is part of the shingles thing, that it has several manifestations. There is pain (and itching) associated with the area of the rash; there is a deeper pain; there is even "postherpetic neuralgia". From Dr. Ha: A blank look. Says I, why not go back to your office and Google it. Says she, Nope. We go home. My wife is in pain; it gets worse. I slip her some asprin, and spray her rash with Bactine (a nice lidocaine jolt); at least she can sleep. But the main is dulled briefly, not properly addressed. To what may we attribute this neglect on the part of Young Dr. Ha? Well, bad education at the SUNY College of Medicine, of course. Also poor supervision during her apprenticeship at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital. And no guidance or mentoring as she does her journeyman's time at NYULTC. Then too, she is stupid and arrogant -- stupid in that she failed to make a sound judgment based on reflection, but merely reasoned determinatively based on limited education; arrogant that having had this defect brought to her attention, she failed to consider she might be mistaken. read more

I visited this facility today because of acute shoulder pain. I got really lucky, and was able to see an orthopedist the day I called. When I got there (and completed all the forms), a nurse (PA?) took me into an office (5 minutes before my appointment time!!) and did a short intake. Dr. Dennis Cardone arrived shortly after, and was superb. He really listened to me and I did not feel like he wanted to rush out of the office because he had a dozen other patients waiting for him. I walked out of the office really happy, even though the shoulder pain turned out to be more than just a nuisance (rotator cuff impingement). If you are looking for a great doctor, go see Dr. Cardone. You won't regret it. read more

I put in a request for my medical records. Weeks went by and I did not receive them. I called, and left a message. I called again and left a message. Finally I reached a live human being who connected me to the medical records person who apologized for not handling my request sooner but at the same time told me she's also the 'receiving department' for the facility - In other words, here duties as a receiving clerk are more important that her duties related to clinical care in the way of medical records. I was a patient here for a short time. I found the doctor did not know how to work the computer. read more

I called because I thought I might have strep and they fit me in right away (okay, they told me to come in right away and then I had to wait an hour but I was appreciative anyway). The rapid strep test came back positive and they sent in a z-pack prescription and an oral lydocane prescription right away. It was a good experience. They now use some sort of palm reader as a check-in system. I don't get it. A little too futuristic if you ask me. read more

Doctors at this Center are under such pressure to meet NYU billing requirements, that their appointments are 15 minutes each. What's more, they are ingrown, most coming from NYU Medical School, which produces textbook doctors who cannot think or analyze beyond what the textbook or protocol says. That's fine if you have a recognizable injury or disease, not if you have a condition or complex set of interrelated problems. They are incapable of handling that and/or unable to take the time. read more

I was also overcharged by $20. Calling their Boston billing office to resolve it was useless. They don't know anything. Must call the Trinity Center directly and they promptly realized the mistake and resolved it. It was a waste of time. Other than that, service was OK. read more

Like everyone else here I was scammed. As a NYU Alumni I am more than disappointed in the service and complete lack of honesty from this office and their billing company. Prior to arriving at the office I called to make sure they took my insurance and that the doctor or PA I would be seeing also took my insurance. The receptionist told me they did and I confirmed 3 more times when I arrived. A year later I receive a surprise bill from them which a doctor there (via email/mychart) and receptionist (via recorded phone call) confirmed it was a mistake. Regardless of my insurance and I calling the billing company 30 times in which they assured us they will fix the bill, have sent me more bills and sent me to collections. After another phone call they took me out of collections, knowing well what they did was illegal. Disgusting facility which has given me anxiety for well over a year. read more

No follow ups at this place whatsoever. I have prediabetes and high cholesterol. Only a nurse giving me suggestions on how to change my diet and involving more exercise. I am from New York City and not from San Francisco. what kind of practice is? Very shameful and this place was recommended to me by my coworkers. the nurse never gets back to me. they don't post my urine results and they only post my blood test results. I have been here twice to see a dotor. After my first visit I was handed a paper with a summary of my visit,which included my medications. Under themedications list it said for one, "Stop Immediately", ANother it said "Take 1x daily for 1 year". Neither of thee mediations were prescribed by this doctor. When I spoke to my doctor about this infom=rmation he saidhe knew nothinga bout it and did't know why instructions like those were given to me. This is a terriblemistake on NYU's (computer) side. They scared the heck out of me. And, if I had tken a particualr medicaiotn for a year like they "recommened" I probably beint he hostpial witha bleeding diorder. Next, they "scheduled" an MRI. I had an appt. for one month after this request went in. I got the MRI yesterday and today received a phone call from my insurance company that the request was denied and that they only received the request 2 days ago. Why didn't anyone at NYU call me to tell me it was denied? Now, I have to pay out of pocket. They had a month to put in the request to my insurance co. and only put it in 1 day before the appointment! They are highly computerized at Langone, and yet incredibly unorganized and not up to the job. read more

I do not even know where to start with this place! If there is one thing to say, it's stay away from this center and it's doctors. I have my general doctor (Eliza Rose) and my GYN (Samantha Dunham) which i have been going to for years for annual physicals. I never really had emergencies or situations where i would need to see my doctors on short notice in the past, so was under assumption that if i ever experience any such situations my doctor would be able to accommodate or at least care enough to see me on a short notice. So i started having this pain in my stomach that was getting progressively worse, i reached out to both of these doctors as it was getting pretty bad. I was shocked by the complete apathy of the staff and doctors themselves. They did not even respond to my messages at all until i had a mental breakdown on a phone with the front desk. and even then all they could say is go to emergency room if it got really bad. REALLY!!! well i did not have to end up at emergency room if they gave two shits and bothered to see me! absolutely atrocious attitude towards patients! I ended up in emergency room days later with a ruptured appendix! i cannot believe this place! Stay away. All they can do is an annual physical that any halfwit can perform anywhere. If you are looking to use the expertise of these so called doctors, good luck! you'll end up in emergency room either way. read more

Went for blood pressure 24 hour monitor. Was told this was only facility that had them. When I arrived, the tech didn't know how to place it on my arm. Also, the equipment was old and a piece of the monitor was missing. The tech finally stated the machine was on and I left. Yup, the machine was not on and an hour and a half later I had to call them. I got another tech...Zach, chief tech, who told me how to turn it on. He gave me his private number minus a necessary extension to call if any other problems arose. The machine didn't turn off after 24 hours and I called him. He had given me an incorrect number and I couldn't get through. A message was left but he never called back. Then of course the maze of NYU phone system doesn't work at all. Terrible equipment, techs, and customer service. Patient beware!! read more

A lot of "yelpers" are raving about the great personailities of the staff which is always a good thing, but more importantly these are some of the best doctors I have ever come across. Basically, THESE DOCTORS KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE DOING and that is what's important. They are the experts among experts. I went to Dr. Roshini and eventually had my procedure done with Dr. Bernstein. You don't have to take my word for it but when something doesn't feel right around or below the waist, call this center right away and you will be provided top notch medical care that isn't so easy to find these days. They are simply the best of the best, and you don't want to gamble with your health so definitly look into this place when searching for a specialist. read more

Trinity Center is a fabulous and well run medical office. Check-in is quick and easy, I have never had to wait beyond a few minutes, there are other services (blood testing, x-rays, etc.) so you don't have to go somewhere else, check-out is friendly and thorough, and the offices are clean, attractive, and the equipment is up-to-the-minute. I have seen Dr Cardone (briefly), and Dr Jenny Delfin (cardiology) and Dr Elisa Rose (general) more extensively. The doctors are smart, communicative, and very caring. They use an on-line communication system that allows you to get reports and lab results really quickly and to be able to review the information. You can send and receive E-mails (no phone tag) and schedule appointments on-line as well. read more

I am so happy with this Doctor's office. Everyone is friendly and professional, and the offices are top-notch. Everything is done online, so everything is so efficient. My doctor calls me and emails me and I always feel taken care of. I hope that I can use more of the doctors here! read more

I see Drs. Schulman and Rose on a regular basis at Trinity. They have always been friendly, professional and helpful. The EMR is excellent. I use it to schedule appointments, refill prescriptions and to communicate with the doctors. Whenever I have an appointment I am never made to wait. The facilities are always clean. Staff always on top of their work. By far the best medical experience I've had during all my years in NYC. Do yourself a favor and come here. read more

A year after I received service, I received a bill. I talked to my insurance company and gather all papers to prove that the bill was already paid. Everything was settled and Langone sent me a message saying that I now have 0 patient balance and to disregard the statement received. Now, a year later, they send me the same bill. They did tell me that I owe nothing again, but to get the same bill every year since the date of the service is a harassment.  I do not owe anything, and Langone admitted, so please stop sending me bills that I do not owe. read more

It's probably one of the nicest doctor's offices I have visited in the city. Everyone from the receptionists to the doctors there are just really nice and efficient. My doctor is Dr. Elisa Rose, who has always promptly returned my calls, patiently addressed all my concerns and the time in the waiting room has never been more than 5 minutes. This center is so well run and the staff are amazingly kind that I make the extra trip and resist changing doctors. read more

Very bureaucratic practice. They push you to doing everything online which is fine by me - unless something goes wrong with the online platform. I have spent 2 weeks trying to get a prescription filled for an absolutely routine medication that I've taken every day for 30 years. The past 2 days it's become urgent because I'm completely out and even used up the emergency supply the pharmacy gave me. Yesterday, after stomping my feet, I got assurances that my request was submitted and put on rush. Nothing happened. Called again. I was told they didn't know why nothing happened and they would resubmit my request and place a rush on it again. I said that wasn't good enough, since that's what they said yesterday. I asked to speak to someone who could actually sign off on the prescription. Instead I was told the doc was looking at my file and would sign off in a few minutes. We'll see. Still fuming. Even if it finally gets filled today I shouldn't have to do this to get a routine prescription filled. This is ridiculous. read more

I am so disappointed in this office. I made an appointment 2 months ago & when I got to the office today they told me the Dr that I was supposed to see was not in & that I should have received a call. Obviously I didn't, which is why I trekked alllll the way down to Wall St. The receptionist was pretty indifferent, did not offer for me to speak with anyone from their appointment dept & said someone would call me to reschedule. I asked how they were supposed to call me when, despite my updating my records twice with my current number, they didn't have my correct information? Ridiculous. When I got to work I tried to reach their office manager to complain. I called 4 times: the first woman accidentally disconnected me, the second accidentally connected me to their emergency line, the third person couldn't hear me & hung up & the fourth person was so rude that I just hung up on her. I have made an appointment for a different doctor. In NYC, where we have so many choices & access to Drs with more professionalism, I would not waste my time with this unprofessional, hot mess of an office. Save yourself the frustration. read more

I like the doctors here - Dr. Katz for dermatology and Dr. Rodriguez for endocrinology. But the way this place is run is awful. It's like getting medical care in a bus station. Long lines to check in, long lines for lab work. If you want a follow up appointment forget it - it takes 3 months. Why see a doctor then be unable to get a follow up appointment. It's the lowest of the low. Akin to a low price clinic. read more

I have seen three doctors at this practice. All were extremely knowledgeable. The picturesque lobby is a great start. You have to show your ID at the front desk to be allowed to take the elevator to the second floor offices. The view from the waiting room is of the church next door, which is picturesque as long as you aren't creeped out by the old, old cemetery. It's kind of funny, when you think about it. When I call for appointments, I usually can get in within a day or two. The only exception was for a dermatologist, and it was a two month wait. I asked to be put on the cancellation list, and got in to see Dr. Katz much quickly. I realize now why there's such a long wait to see her, she's flat-out great. Dr. Taylor is my GP and I recommend her because she is quick to act, rather than some doctors who pat you on the head with a "wait and see" attitude. I had the misfortune of being diagnosed with a serious condition over the Christmas holidays, and Dr. Taylor did not "forget" about me when the offices were closed. She even returned my calls while she was off duty, out of town attending a family event. Everyone needs a reliable doctor, and I'm lucky to have found mine at NYU Trinity. I'm giving this 5 stars even though in a small town it might be 4 stars because this attentiveness from doctors is more commonplace, but in Manhattan, it's not. read more

I accompanied my cousin to a scheduled appointment with Dr. Mercedes Castillo for a 9.45am oncologist appointment. There was train traffic so we came about 15 mins late. When we arrived to check in, the receptionist communicated to us that Dr. Castillo called at 10am to say that the appointment was cancelled because she was about to take a flight. It appears as though she was never informed about the appointment at all, or there was very poor planning. This upset my cousin so she walked out. After making several calls to the NYU helpline, we returned to see if the same receptionist could schedule her to see another doctor that specialises in oncology. We were shocked to find out that the receptionist forgot about us (we were in just 15 mins before and it was not a busy day) and that she appeared to not understand what an oncologist was (an oncologist is a doctor that specializes in gynecology cancer) and after checking with her supervisor, wrongly confirmed that Dr. Castillo does not specialize in oncology. She also tried to give us the same referral number we used to get the information that lead us there. This is unacceptable of doctor support staff and is really unfair under challenging circumstances such as this. We will not come back! I feel bad for anyone that has appointments there, they are not in capable hands. read more

The doctor, Dennis Cardone, took no initiative in diagnosing my symptoms. I had a joint pain that I was having tough time pinpointing and he could have spent a little more time analyzing exactly which movement / muscle / tendon was giving me trouble. He did none of that and sent me away in 10 minutes (no exaggeration). Then he had the gall to charge me $300 for this service. The administrative staff, lobby and the ambiance were good, but that's a distant second on the list of things I care about when visiting the doc. Incidentally, I visited a hospital in an Asian country a few weeks later and visited an orthopedic surgeon for the exact same symptom, and the amount of initiative and analysis I received was unbelievable. I love this place. They are professional and friendly. I've only been there twice but I haven't had to wait at all. As soon as I got there, I was seen right away (within 10 minutes of arriving). The nurses are friendly and accommodating and Dr. Ahn is possibly one of the coolest doctors I've ever encountered. He's laid back, doesn't make you feel rushed and understanding. I've been to doctors before and been made to wait like I was taking up their time. But not Dr. Ahn. He's thorough and honest. I get the impression that it's a good place to work because everyone seemed to be in a good mood and working well together. In terms of patient care, I believe this to be very important. Going to a doctor's appointment for any reason can be stressful, so I appreciate the cheerfulness and professionalism of everyone there. read more

Chose this place as it is close to my office. Unfortunately, You can never get an appointment and when you do get a slot you're there for an hour past your appointment time just you be seen. Also, they keep wanting you to see a physicians assistant or a nurse practitioner because they do not have enough doctors. The phlebotomist hit my nerve during routine blood work and it is now permanently damaged. read more

I've never been to a doctors office that was so RUDE! I was late for my appointment, caused by a rain storm which effected the trains but I had my assistant call to let them know. The office told her it was fine for me to still come. When I arrived 20 minutes late they told me the doctor couldn't see me. When I asked why the office didn't tell my assistant that when she called, the front desk said its a choice for the doctor. So I asked when we called if it was the choice of the doctor why didn't they ask the doctor. Their response... Well he can see you at 3pm, or on July 18th. I traveled an hour and a half in a down pour to be treated poorly! Never have I had such an experience. read more
