Exceptional O & Plumbing Service Experience I highly recommend O & M Plumbing for any plumbing needs. In particular, Chris F. has consistently demonstrated exceptional skill and professionalism on every project of mine. His attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship set him apart as a truly outstanding plumber. Project Background I recently purchased an older home, full of charm and distinctive bathrooms. However, I encountered a leak in the master shower that required the p-trap under the shower drain to be replaced before new tile work could be completed. My concern was that reconnecting the new p-trap to the antique cast iron drains in the foundation might cause the cast iron to crumble. Chris F.'s Approach and Solutions Chris came to the rescue, using a camera down the drain to evaluate the situation. He explained the difference between what was probable and what was possible, providing two bids: one for the probable good case and one for the possible problem case. Having used Chris before with excellent results, I trusted his methods, which are always the least intrusive and focused on effective access. In the worst-case scenario, Chris would need to cut and excavate a 2' x 2' hole in the foundation around the shower drain, then tunnel no more than five feet under the foundation from that access point to secure a solid connection to the iron drainpipe. In the best-case scenario, he would only need to excavate a 2' x 2' hole around the shower drain to replace and secure the new p-trap. He also showed me pictures of his past work for reassurance. Successful Outcome Fortunately, the best-case and probable case prevailed. While fixing the p-trap, Chris also discovered an unrelated drain leak under the foundation, which he repaired at no extra charge. I felt I received excellent value for the service provided. Professionalism and Work Quality Chris left the work site clean, as he has always done in the past. He and his co-worker collaborated well, using a small and quiet jackhammer designed specifically for plumbing foundation work. The new drain looks beautiful, and I can confidently proceed with the new tile work, knowing that the unseen part of the shower is sound and affordable. A friend recommended we call Ben at O&M plumbing. We called and got an automated receptionist. The automation could not get our address after we repeated it 3 times. The automated system gave us a date and time but then asked us what time we wanted the plumber to arrive. It didn't make sense. We hang up the phone in frustration. We had a great experience with O&M Plumbing. Our home is pier and beam with original cast iron pipes, and they found a crack in a P-trap during the inspection. They clearly explained the issue and gave us two options: a quote to replace just the P-trap and a separate quote to replace all the pipes since the cast iron was corroding. What stood out was that there was absolutely no pressure to upsell. They took the time to answer questions and let us decide what made sense for our situation (we chose to replace all the pipes). They were responsive, courteous, and showed up on time. The work was done efficiently and professionally. Installed 2 new thrones and they did such a great job keeping everything neat and tidy. Everything works perfectly. While they were in there they threw a camera down and let me know that it's all clear : but to watch out for some roots that have started growing out into the connection from the main- nothing to worry about now but made me aware in order to help prevent any emergency situation in the future. I had a water heater start to erode (to say the least) so I called up O&M to see when they could help provide me an assessment. I initiated a Yelp request form on Saturday and shortly after that someone got back to me that they would be out on that Tuesday. The technician arrived promptly, did a quick assessment and provided a very reasonable quote. Not only did I accept the Water heater service, but I also needed a water softener replacement which I also agreed to with O&M. The service was done that day and the pricing was fair. Andrew discovered a pretty major leak from a sewer pipe under our pier and beam home. Adding to this unpleasantness is the fact that our crawl space was non existent and our home is very low to the ground. They had a digging crew come out promptly to create an access point so they could access and begin work. Needless to say, this was not a glamorous job. Ben (the owner), Mike and Andrew worked in these conditions for almost two whole days until the job was complete. I cannot thank them enough!! They made the entire process so easy. Andrew did such a great job in explaining the issues and the work that would be taking place. He broke it down in layman's terms for us, preparing us for possible complications, etc. He is such an asset to the company, he really brought our anxiety down and assured us the work would be done correctly and with the least disruption possible. It was also reassuring (and rare) to have the owner of the company on site working alongside Andrew and Mike to ensure everything was done properly. From start to finish we were treated with respect and courtesy and they delivered on all of their promises. Heather in the office did a terrific job booking our various diagnostic visits and passing along messages when needed. I can't say enough about this company and we are so grateful to have found them. They truly have given our home back to us after living with an unpleasant situation for some time. And they couldn't have been sweeter to our dogs! I usually wait a few days after any work is completed before writing a review; I'm glad I waited this particular time. O&M came out to a rental property to review a small toilet leak. I ended up contracting them for more preventative work in the other bathrooms. It was a costly amount of work but O&M were reasonable about not overcharging (since I was "buying in bulk"). Initially the work seemed fine, but after checking a week later, the small leak was still there - they had not fixed the original issue :( I was very disappointed in this and reached out. The owner Ben got back to me and quickly made it a priority to personally investigate what was going on. He tried several different options but because of the age of the toilet, it was best to replace. I purchased a new toilet and he picked it up and installed it a couple days later at NO CHARGE. O&M went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied. I understand things may be missed at the first go round but I really appreciated the customer service and the honesty. Excellent same-day service! We called to get the appointment in the morning and Aaron was there when promised the same day. He did a great job and explained what was needed and showed me why. I am happy to try and tackle easy jobs myself first, but glad to leave the hammer drill and soldering pipes with the torch work to a licensed professional. I learned a few tricks from him, but will probably just call them back instead of making a mess of it myself first. Ben is honestly the best plumber in Austin. He's been with us through multiple plumbing disasters at three houses over our years in Austin (I think his first job for us was 2016? So over 6 years now), and it's hard to imagine relying on anyone else. He's reliable, great at explaining things, really really thorough, and does great work. Most recently, we woke up Thanksgiving morning with a wet floor and a bunch of warped floor boards. So stressful. Ben prioritized our call, diagnosed our issue quickly, and had the whole thing repaired within a couple days, making a huge headache way easier to deal with. It's always like this with O&M- we've done both major and minor work with them over the years, and they really take care of us. A note about the kind of person Ben is: while he was out fixing our latest issue, he noticed that the handle was off in our guest shower. This had nothing to do with the issue he was out for: it had gotten corroded, and I was in the process of swapping it out myself, but busy parent life combined with all the YouTube videos I was going to need to watch to get it done had meant it had been sitting there waiting for me to actually do it for a couple months (shameful, I know). Ben noticed it and offered to knock it out while he was out fixing our issue, just because he could and he knew it would only take him a few minutes. He's just like that, goes the extra mile. They came out the next day and worked on it. The smell is completely gone. They have done other work for us too - replaced our hot water heater (and brought it up to code), they replaced our garbage disposal and replaced an outdoor water spicket (sp.). read more

0 stars We sent an email (below) to O&M, got a call from the owner who said that isn't their policy / procedure and that he stands by his plumbers and their reporting and we got what we paid for so it didn't matter wether he was correct or not. This is at the exact same time another company is fixing the problem they said did not exist, while telling me a scratch in the PVC pipe from the toilet needed to be jackhammered out to replace. I could see it was just a scratch, and told him I think there is a break under the carport as the pier repair is in line with the clean out, he said no (that was the problem). I've worked with many plumbers in Austin, only used this company as referred by the foundation company for testing. Not only will they take days to find the issue, they will not find the issue and cherry on top you will get awful customer service from the owner even when you send him a report verifying everything you're telling him is true and his plumbers were dead wrong. I've had my fair share of bad plumbers from home remodels and Restaurant repairs but these guys take the cake for worst plumbers ever. Run for the hills with O&M! For leaks or hydrostatic testing - Austin Leak & Line found the issue in an hour, extremely professional and got the job done right for less cost then O&M. Hello, I wanted to let you know that your plumbers couldn't have been more wrong on the foundation report. The good news is we could tell that they did not know what they were doing, and the recommendation to jackhammer the bathroom toilet for a scratch in the pvc was way off base. Luckily I was there to watch them or I would have just gone with that determination. See report attached from company that I immediately contracted for a second opinion, they found the break in the line near the foundation repair (which I hinted to your plumber it would be) in less then an hour. Honestly think you should give me a full refund for money and the amount of my time wasted from plumbers not knowing how to properly use equipment. Y'all need new plumbers stat!
