I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with this place. The food is genuinely good. Their burgers are solid, the wings are consistently good, and they have a nice selection of beers and cocktails. Bonus points for their Moscow Mule--it's one of my favorites because it's not overloaded with ginger (no spicy throat burn here, thank you very much). It's also a fun spot overall: pull tabs, darts, and plenty of TVs make it a good place to watch a football game or just hang out with friends. That said... the service is what knocks this place down a couple stars. It's just not great. The bartender can come off pretty rude, and from talking to others, that seems to be a fairly common experience--not just a one-off bad night. All that said, I still think it's worth checking out if you're looking for something different to eat or a casual place to watch a game--just go in with realistic expectations about the service. read more

I was really craving pasta and came across the menu for O'Brady's. I shop at carrs Huffman all the time but have never been in here. My loss. It's kind of misleading there's a full size restaurant inside the strip mall. I don't know why that is such a weird concept to me. Upon walking in it was pretty evident we were at a locals place. We opted to sit at one of the dining room tables. They had half the dining room blocked off, I'm assuming because it was getting later and slower (8:30ish) I ordered the Alfredo pasta and my partner has the roast beef I believe. My pasta was really good, a fair size serving with a slide of garlic bread. The server was friendly enough. Nothing to write home about. The dining area was super quiet, and the noise from the bar didn't carry over. We will be coming back here when I get another pasts craving. Went by here about 4:30pm on a Tuesday afternoon and aside from a few locals at the bar, and a table full of elderly tourists planning their next days adventures in Alaska, it was not busy at all. Was helped promptly by a gentleman with a menu and my drink order. I went for the house special soup and sandwich. The soup was broccoli cheese and was absolutely amazing. I'm not one to get to excited about soup, but this was really good. Paired the soup with a pastrami sandwich on marble rye that was equally as good. I admittedly have not been to O'Bradys since the had locations at the Dimond Mall & also on the Tudor / Muldoon curve. Guess I gotta get to more of the Southside restaurants, I may be missing out. Came here for St Patricks day great to see a full house! Even with how busy and loud it was the service was great and friendly. They had bag pipers come through which was really cool and just for the holiday. Our group had the shepherds pie and a burger, burger was good no complaints and came with steak fries. Now the shepherds pie was hard to finish it had no flavor at all tasted like they browned some beef with some frozen veggies and threw mashed potatoes on top no seasoning. For this dish being on their specials I was expect something with flavor. It was also suppose to come with a roll and salad but as we were finishing we realized that never came we didn't say anything so that is on us. I'd like to go back and try something on their regular menu to give them another shot but at this point do not recommend. read more

We ordered the clamstrips and pretzel for an appetizers, and a steak sandwich with curly fries. Clamstrips and fried - delicious Prezel- soo bad. I thought it was going to be a home made European prezel... it was a frozen Costco prezel and Costco nacho cheese... Steak sandwich- bun and the fixings were good, but the steak was totally over cooked (we asked for med/rare) so it was sooo chewy and they didn't even cut up the steak. It was a struggle to even get on bite without the full steak coming out. Only 2 stars because the fried food was great and the server was on point. Hit or miss. When they can get clams, this is one of the few places in town that has fried clams. It's mostly comfort food, but if Sara Lee made comfort food instead of desserts. Most everything tastes like frozen from Sysco rather than fresh and handmade. Last night we got the pot roast and while my partner enjoyed it, I thought it was a little overcooked and dry. It isn't your traditional pot roast that's cooked in a gravy with onions, carrots, and potatoes. The meat is cooked by itself, and tastes bland in comparison to actual, homemade pot roast. The gravy that comes with the chicken fried steak is quite good for sausage gravy, but apparently nobody here knows that chicken fried steak should come with pepper gravy, not sausage, and is usually made from the drippings leftover from making the chicken fried steak. The overwhelming taste of sausage kinda ruins the chicken fried steak, but would probably be amazing over some fresh biscuits! I've also had the liver and onions and found it extremely disappointing. The beef liver is just an overcooked slab of liver, with brown gravy and sautéed onions. I'm southern, so I am accustomed to a white cream gravy, not brown, and every beef liver I have ever eaten in the south has been very lightly breaded. This was just slapped in the pan and cooked until it was a piece of shoe leather. Avoid. They do appear to make their own ranch dressing, and the mashed potatoes are real, not instant. The steamed vegetables are your standard frozen California mix. I'm sorry that I'm only remembering the less than stellar dishes that we've had. It's not a great restaurant, but it's ok enough that we do still patronize them a time or two per year. read more

Situation 1:Yesterday Jan 8th at 530pm I showed up to this establishment, and before arriving I placed the order via phone (as it says to do in the photo) I was working on Grubhub - food delivery. As soon as i walk inside with my grubhub bag and Drink carrier- this white lady at the bar says: Are you the 1 who placed the order with the following items of a,b,c and d? I said Yes Now when she confronted me their was like 20-30 ppl by the bar SITTING and behind the bar. Situation 2: She comes from behind the counter and starts 'scolding me' and her TONE is elevated. Shes like: "IDK HOW MANY TIMES I HAVE TO SAY THIS BUT WE DONT WANT TO BE AFFLIATED WITH 'YOUR COMPANY' ... AND IDK WHY YOUR HERE ... WE DONT WANT ANY BUSINESS FROM YOU ALL..." I told her in a low tone - "Idk what's going on, i am the middle man. You pick up the food and drive the food". She says" WELL WEVE SENT MULTIPLE CALLS AND EMAILS TO HAVE OUR RESTAURANT OFF THE PLATFORM AND YOU CALLED IN THE ORDER OFF YOUR PERSONAL #" . Now at this point shes embarrassing me and BLAIMING me. I dont even know this LADY and I told shes coming at me crazy and shes 'CONFRONTING' me in front of dine in customers! She didnt have the decentsy to take me to the other side of Mos and talk! Then a white man comes out AND HE TALKS to me and tells her to go back to the bar. When she was speaking to me CRAZY AS HELL EVERRYONE WAS STARING SITUATION 3: This lady who poorly greeted me and judged me, never disclosed her name. Her name is Crystal she works at the bar. The man who spoke to me secondly his name is Bryan and 'supposedly' hes the Manager of the Building! They told me not to ACCEPT any more orders as a driver from this business! Walked in and had to seat ourselves. A few people in the bar and one or two other tables. We sat near the front and noticed everything was dirty even the silverware and the gumball machines at the entrance were filthy! Menu was large and lots of tasty looking options. Waitperson arrived and was wearing a dirty shirt and baseball cap, not very helpful or overly friendly but not rude either. We ordered potato skins, wedge salad and a turkey sandwich. Potato skins were lukewarm, mushy and bland. Wedge salad was a ton of blue cheese dressing, cold and chewy bacon and some chopped mushy tomatoes. Turkey sandwich was bland and very likely purchased from Safeway deli. Very disappointed. We didn't finish our food and left. People may come for the beer but its definitely not for the food. read more

My husband and I decided to grab dinner at O'Brady's tonight and I can't say it was the best experience here. He and I have eaten here several times and this past year the service and the food have gone down in quality. I ordered the Halibut sandwich with fries and my husband ordered the Chili burger . After a very long wait our orders came out and they had given me beer batter Halibut chunks and not the sandwich I had ordered. Sent it back of course and watched my husband eat his chili burger. He said the burger was awful, the chili was cold, the meat was tough and the bun was stale. When my Halibut sandwich came out the sandwich was cold, the fries were extra hot, and greasy. Refil son drinks were sparse and all in all this was not the best place to eat. Poor service and not so great food these days. read more

I had to eat here twice to give a proper review. The menu here brags wholehearted about being the best this and the best that. We shall see... I noticed a few fluff words on the menu, like claiming to have fresh snow crab in the crab & artichoke dip, even though the season is closed. Perhaps it was written during the season. Needless to say.... We shall test these claims of superiority. Meal #1 Appetizer- Texas tooth picks: these are thinly sliced onions and jalapeños battered and deep fried. The breading was crisp and not overly seasoned. The jalapeños were not too hot and the onions didn't pull out of the breeding upon eating. Absolutely spot on! Main dish- I opted for the Double jalapeño cheeseburger and she got the Shepherds pie. The burger arrived double stacked with a generous supply of shredded lettuce and onion. The bun was lightly grilled but on the firm side. Interestingly enough, the burger was incredible! Super juicy but not greasy. Cheesy but not overbearing. Unbelievably good.... This is why we are coming back again.... Was it a fluke? The Shepard pie was underwhelming. It basically consisted of unseasoned ground beef, canned veg-all, and box potatoes. If this was my only representation of the food, we would not have returned, but.... this is a burger pub. The "best ever" Creme Brûlée aka burnt cream? They were not lying.... Soooo Good! Twice as thick as the normal serving and simply divine. Meal #2 The waitress remembered us and our drink preference. Surprisingly, the owner was on site again. This is almost always a good sign. We started out with the Brie with roasted garlic for an appetizer. Brie: large "pie sized" slice of cheese, 8 thin cut broiled baguette slices, and several cloves of roasted garlic. Let's just say .... My wife is in heaven. Main meal: I ordered the double Hawaiian burger with jalapeños and tatter tots. She ordered the patty melt with fries. The burger: once again on point. The bun again, not too soft but really holds up well to the burger. The tots were crisp but not greasy. Unbelievably good. Super tasty, super juicy, not greasy, fresh toppings, and cooked properly. The patty melt: perfectly seasoned laying on a cross cut marble rye. The only disappointment here was the lack of grilled onions, But honestly the best beef we have had in any patty melt. Desert: the big chocolate cake with ice cream. This 5 layer masterpiece drizzled in a warm chocolate sauce topped with vanilla ice cream. I'm not a huge chocolate fan but.... Dang! Warm, moist, delicious! Overall.....sorry Tommy's, sorry Road Runner, sorry Burger Jim..... There's a new bad boy of burgers in town.....these are easily the best burgers in anchorage! Worst service I have had in all of Anchorage in well forever!! Four of us dining on SaintPatties day. Having three salads with our meals and Having onion rings plus the Texas toothpicks as appetizers both were very good. We have already eaten our salads and halfway through the appetizers when we realized we had no drinks we asked the host to get us our drinks then after five minutes of getting our drinks the waiter finally comes back and said OH we are out of the Buffalo meatloaf when our meals should be showing up and asked me what else I would like to order Wife having Corned beef and cabbage, my good friends having the shepherds pie and the Wagyu beef hamburger and curly fries, And I ended up ordering the Braised beef in beer. My wife's Corned was dry and tuff! Mine had okay flavor at best with tuff meat as well. My friends said theirs was ok as well but said they will NEVER come back here again!! Best Irish Pub this side of the Susitna! It's been almost five years that I've been coming to this little nugget of an Irish bar. Writing a review, I figure, is long overdue. Just off of Huffman, in the corner of the CARRS strip mall, nestled between a take-n-bake pizza joint and a credit union, you'll see in green Gaelic-esque font O'BRADY'S Burgers and Brew. Walking in the front entrance and to your left is a delightful restaurant dining area with good lighting (not too bright) and well-spaced tables. Perfect for families, groups from the office, etc. Continuing forward and to the right is ...THE BAR. Now this is the part of the establishment I can really speak informatively about. The beer selection seems really great. They have many taps with brightly colored adornments - some appear to be Alaskan-themed and others have different shapes and shiny things. I know its pretty popular because pint glasses are the most prominent stemware visible in the joint. The selection of alcohol (vodka, whiskey [Irish and non-Irish], tequila, bourbon, scotch, etc.) is practically endless. They always seem to have that latest alcohol thing that you saw that one time on that one thing and was curious to try. Mo (that's the owner Mo - we're tight like that) usually seems to like to try new things and if you happen to be around while he is experimenting you might just get a little taste. The drinks are pretty solid (don't tell Mo) and I've yet to walk away thinking I didn't get what I wanted or my money's worth. I will tell you this little tip. The bartenders LOVE making special concoctions so ... if you can remember most of the ingredients from that nutty-tini thing you drank at your cousin's bat mitzvah last summer, go ahead and have them re-create it for you! Great find! Heard about this place from someone at work when we were discussing best burgers in Anchorage. This place is really good when it comes to burgers at least. I'll definitely be back to check out other dishes. It was nice and clean. The staff was attentive when we arrived and very friendly throughout our visit. Loved the darts and the little party type room you could use if you had a small group. Plenty of beers on tap and now to the food...great burgers! My husband had the kobe beef which was cooked to perfection just the way he asked for it. He was pleased. I had the london which is basically a bacon cheese burger. The bacon was cooked perfectly crunchy but not overdone and the burger was good too. We are very excited about this little gem we have found in our neighborhood in Anchorage. Really friendly staff. First time here and I was really surprised. Sat down quickly. Drinks brought quickly. The gentlemen who served and took order were quick and pretty warm people. Very casual homey ambience. Food was great as well. Got the clam strips because I can barely get them anywhere else. Hot and fresh. Great flavor.
