For me, coming here in the future my place will be at the bar with appetizers. Bar environment is 5/5 As far as the rest goes I think the food is good, not spectacular. 3/5. In the future I think I'd come for an appetizer and a couple of drinks and that's it. I felt the veal was tough on both ordered plates and potentially I would have preferred chicken. That being said the sauce was great. The grappa sauce had amazing flavor and the Marsala sauce also had great flavor. Plus the funghi appetizer was great with the bread. All of it was enjoyable enough for a return visit. This spot has very friendly staff, they move at a classic Alaska pace. Meant for sitting down and enjoying the company of someone you're eating with but not designed for getting in and out the door quickly. I've been wanting to try this place, since a another passenger on a flight to Alaska told me all about it. Dr. Jeff was his name. He told me to order the Dr. Jeff special Manhattan when I got to the bar. However, I had already ordered another cocktail, which was a Manhattan, which was probably pretty close to what Dr. Jeff would've ordered. Went there with some locals, who highly recommended the place as well. We did get there by 4 PM, so we did get a table. We were greeted at the door, by the maître d'. She was great. She asked us if we wanted to sit in the restaurant, or sit in the bar. We chose to sit in the bar. Great choice! We got to see the master bartender at work, Ully, I think is his name. Many, many cocktails were being prepared, with everyone really enjoying what they were having. For entrées, I had the lasagna, which was quite good, and it was so big I couldn't eat all of it. Some other items on the table, were the seafood Alfredo, with shrimp that were so big. And another dish was the chicken parmigiana, which was a very large serving as well. Everything that came out of the kitchen was piping hot, you had to wait a moment to even eat it. Great vibe in this place, with the ambience being quite good. It's a great little local establishment. It takes forever to get a seat if you even want to wait long enough before just leaving. Once seated its an hour to an hour and a half to get your food? Who runs a place like this? I'm surprised this place is still in business. One owner, Ylli, if thats his real name, craps on any bad review here and on Google, what owner does that? We had never been here before, and we had a great experience. We were here on a Sunday before the memorial holiday. I had heard to get here at 4pm when they open or you will wait. We were the second people to arrive that sat in the main dining room and the booths were full when we left but I would say they were definitely slower than they would probably be on a regular weekend. I got an espresso martini and it was the best one I've ever had. It had whiskey, vodka, espresso liquor, and crushed espresso beans on top(I think) like a powder. It was $16 but worth it. They have quite a list of cocktails as well as wines. They make their own whiskey and I wonder if they had a whiskey flight they would do. Maybe next time? We also got the fried mozzarella which were so good. I order the fettuccini carbonara which had fettuccini noodles, black olives, mushrooms, and Canadian bacon. The noodles were so soft and tender, the olives were rich, fresh mushrooms, and Canadian bacon was fine. Didn't really eat any of the Canadian bacon. We got salad and garlic bread with our meals. Both were pretty good. For dessert we had the tiramisu. Was nice as well. The service was fine, we weren't ignored and two ladies went back and forth at our table. Inside has a lot of decor and liquior bottles everywhere. %5 charge for use of credit card. Which added $5 to the bill. Eh. Nobody else does this but they seem stuck in 1970. Great family business, they are always welcoming and the food has always been delicious.

Unfortunately they were short staffed as two of their staff were on vacation so they were limiting seating and offering drinks and appetizer while holding off orders to allow servers to wait their tables and bring food. They let us know right at the door. They were amazing keeping is informed, bringing drinks and appetizers prior to our order. As usual the food was amazing. This is a gem in Anchorage. read more

I will always and forever love and recommend Fiori D'Italia. They don't take reservations, so I would go either earlier or later in the evening. Otherwise, you may be waiting. Bar is open seating. I prefer bar seating over the dining room because it feels more intimate, but there is rarely open seating. They've had the same staff for years and years, and I think that says a lot about a restaurant. I love all of their pasta. The Bianca (sp?) pizza was a bit gorgonzola heavy for me. Their salads are ok but can be skipped. The desserts are delicious. And omg the escargot. We get it every time! I also love their bar menu, and the staff has been very helpful helping me pick out red wines that don't break the bank. read more

This truly is a hidden gem, tucked away in a residential neighborhood. I consider this Anchorages best Italian restaurant. They do not take reservations so come early and be prepared to wait a bit until you get seated. It will be well worth it. The restaurant itself is quiet and offers a cozy atmosphere. The menu has a wide variance of your favorite italian dishes. We ordered the Veal Marsala and the Lasagne with a Cesar Salad. As started we had the mozzarella sticks served with marinara. The veal was cooked perfect and it tasted great with the Marsala sauce and mushrooms. They have a great wine list alongside tasty cocktails. We will definitely be back. read more

Bummer. Been here a dozen times because it's an Anchorage dining staple. This time was different. Ordered pizza for my kids, chicken piccata for myself and my husband ordered lasagna. Food came quick and was hot but I wasn't offered pepper for my salad, the chicken was gummy/chewy and both the lasagna and pizza were pretty bland had WAAAAY too much mozzarella and the lasagna didn't have more than a morsel of meat in it. So basically we paid 100 bucks for 10 pounds of mozzarella. Not sure what happened over the last couple years but this place has gone downhill. :( read more

Sometimes I visit places that stay on my mind for many days after. The way I was treated, the way the food tasted and the ambiance. These are places I cannot wait to return. I want to try something new, ask questions, and add to my previous experience. This is one of those places. One visit is not enough to get the full experience. Food - I was really into the menu items. The sauces, the different combinations. It's not that the menu was exorbitantly large, but it was three pages. It was hard to decide what to do with so I asked the bartender for his suggestion. He said the stuffed chicken was the cook or the restaurant's specialty. I can't remember which it was. Anyway, the chicken was delicious. It was very hot, like it had just come out of the oven, and had not been prepared before hand. The stuffing struck me as a little light or thin, but who complains about a delicious chicken breast and a great portion? The sauce was the star of the show. I don't know what type it was, but I will ask next time. And I will ask for a side of that sauce with any meal I get. The pasta was pretty normal. It didn't appear homemade, but I am not an expert on that. But the pasta soaked up the sauce that the chicken didn't, so who cares. It did take about two hours to get my food. It was a Saturday evening and the restaurant was very busy. They were short staffed in the kitchen. In this time of life, I get this. Just something to be aware of if you are on a schedule or timeline. Service - The bartender was VERY busy. He was making drink after drink, serving the bar, and the 6 or 7 tables in the bar area. He was obviously slammed but he was never short or ruffled. Just a, "Hey, were a little busy, so it may take me a little longer to get to you." The hostess, seating area was another question. I had never been to the restaurant and wasn't sure if the bar was open seating. I waited about 5 minutes for someone to talk to me, but everyone just rushed by without a glance my way. Finally, when a group came in behind me, and I saw a couple leave the bar, I ventured in to ask the bartender. It is open seating, in case you are heading here for the first time and planning to sit in the bar area. Cleanliness - It was very clean. The bartender took the time to come wipe off my bar space which was already very neat, tidy, and clean. The floor was carpeted but looks well maintained. With all the fixtures and cases, it could have been dusty, but it didn't appear to be. Kind of reminds me of Doubler Musky in that regard. Ambiance - its dark and romantic. It was also dark outside, so I don't know if there is normally natural light or not. There was a TV in the bar area down at the end. It had one of the NFL games on. I supposed you might be able to catch a game on this, but the restaurant is certainly not designed or focused on this. Notables - The bathrooms are upstairs. The bourbon collection is insane. I started with a 30 Rhetoric and then had the best New York Sour ever. They call it an arctic sour. I had a few of those during my wait for food. Can't wait to return here. Definitely a hidden gem in Anchorage! The restaurant is tucked inside a neighborhood off Spenard, but it sure is delicious! We arrived around 6pm on a Friday night. This place is first come first serve. When you walk in, you'll be greeted to a line of others waiting for a table. It's an honor system to say whose next up for a seat. No one is taking names or giving you an estimated wait time. It took us about 15 minutes for a table, with 4 parties ahead of us. The service is phenomenal! Just very friendly and truly happy you are dining with them. By the time we had our table and were ready to order they were out of Italian sausage which took the Stromboli off the menu. This was one of the things we really wanted. With that being said we asked the waitress what she recommended and she suggested a spicy chicken dish. I really don't know what it was, but it was super good!! We also ordered a baked penne dish which was really good. We ended up leaving with two boxes of leftovers, the portions are massive. All meals come with a soup or salad and basket of garlic bread. read more

The bartender saved this experience for my husband and I. On the recommendation of a friend, we tried Fiori's. We were immediately drawn inside by shelf after shelf of various whiskey bottles on display. A sign said, "Please wait to be seated, so we continued to peruse the unique bottles. We waited and waited. Irritated by standing around (10 min or so) with no greeting, no "How many in your party?" Or "it'll be X-amount wait time," we bee-lined it for the bar. I attempted confirmation the bar was open seating. A server asked us to excuse her, and you'd think I ruined her day by asking about the seating from her disdainful "yes." After sitting, a gentleman returned to the well-stocked bar, greeted us, and promptly took our drink order. Watching him work was a treat! The bar area was dim, but it was intriguing to let your eyes graze over the massive liquor selection. They even had one of my favorite gins, which you don't find in many places. The calamari and Caprese apps were both delicious. The calamari was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The lasagna was wonderfully cheesy and comforting. The chicken piccata was halfway decent, with juicy chicken and a tasty sauce, but bland, overcooked pasta. The turtle cheesecake was fantastic! Throughout our meal we made light conversation with the bartender and watched him make drink after drink without missing a beat. Took about 30 min to get a seat this was not due to a lack of tables but possibly due to staffing. Eye contact was avoided by staff and until they were about ready to seat you then you were acknowledged. I understand they may have been pacing orders going back to the kitchen but I feel like it could have been a bit more time efficient. Our order was taken promptly but it took about another 30-40min to get our dinner salads and bread which was immediately followed by our entrees. This has been one of my favorite places to go but based on the service it may be a while before we return. read more

Visited Fiori for the first time tonight. I expected it to be busy, but I didn't anticipate having to fight for a parking spot. It was worth it. Once inside, we were seated in a booth right away. Fiori's low light interior reminded me of Sorrentos, but with more character. Service was fast and personable. Like most places, Fiori was short staffed. Despite this, our waitress was marvelous. She made great recommendations and checked on us just enough. Our food came out fast. Everything was amazing. The pasta sauces are rich and spicy, I loved everything. The appetizer mushrooms are elite. I've never had mushrooms so good. Fiori's has a great cocktail menu. The cherry bombs were strong. Can't wait to return and try other menu items. read more
