Good, honest, guys who run this place, great customer service and quality work for a fair price. There have been a few times that I've taken my car here with a check engine light on, or when I failed to get an inspection sticker for one reason or another and they could have easily told me something was wrong with my car or charged me for one thing or another, but didn't. They're the kind of place that charges you a fair price the first time in order to get you back as a repeat customer, rather than inflating their prices on one repair to make a few bucks, all the while risking not having you come back. read more

Brought my car to O'Briens Car Care a little over a month ago. Got quoted about $1,300 to fix my car. When all was said and done it wound up being closer to $1,600 to replace the catalytic converter, fix another catalytic converter, and replace 2 O2 sensors. Less than 30 minutes of driving after picking it up my check engine light was right back on. Dropped it off again. The car wasn't shifting properly either even though that wasn't a problem initially. They attached a new bolt to a part in the car fixing the shifting problem that again, was never an issue till they looked at it. After picking my car up again, not even 30 minutes of driving later, my check engine light came back on again. After immense frustration and just needing my car to pass inspection, I asked them if it was possible for them to get it inspected for me. He said he had a sort of partnership with someone nearby that he could in fact do that. Less than a month after picking it up my car had another issue. Of course nothing that they caused... A coil wasn't functioning properly now. After quoting me almost another $300 and saying there might be further repairs, talking to a few other places and finding out that it was not worth that money to do that repair I decided to take my vehicle elsewhere. A decision I should have made from the start. Deciding to not have my car repaired at this shop I asked if I owed anything for the diagnostic. $25. When I got there I asked if that fee could be waived for the immense amount of inconveniences this place cost me. I might have well have asked him for a million dollars. The smirk he gave me and the "What do you mean, I had a guy look at your car..." response was totally unnecessary. It was the decent thing to do. Slight compensation for the $1,600 and return trips. But no. Instead I offered to trade the guy some advice, as I work in the IT field. After I told the guy what his business was doing wrong with the phone system, where if fixed would save the business potentially thousands of dollars in fines, the guy starts getting aggressive saying I'm black mailing and threatening him...Really? If I was blackmailing you or threatening you I wouldn't have told you what it was you were doing wrong. It's not even the money as it was the principle at that point. Every time I had a complaint or an issue with what was getting on the guy got extremely defensive. I will talk to every single person I know about how terrible this company is. NEVER BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE! It will be the greatest decision of your life. EDIT: To add to this. The $300 and up I was quoted to have to replace the ignition coil and then they would check the spark plugs and wires... well the place I brought it to replaced the spark plugs and ignition wires, 1 of which was pinched and clearly broken from just a simple glance at it, and had the car running better than it has in a really long time. All for 1/3 of the cost. OBriens was going to try to replace the most expensive part first and go from there rather than other way around. Ridiculous. If you like being talked to in a condescending manor, getting ripped off, and having to make return trips to fix a problem then this is the place for you. Otherwise stay as far away from this place as possible and tell everyone you know to do the same! read more
