I ordered DoorDash from O'Brien's today for my lunch at work. I look through at the pictures of their items to decide what I wanted to eat. I do not eat french fries so I looked at several restaurants to decide what I want for lunch. I got excited when I seen that O'Brien's rap came with chips. I was really excited when I looked at the chips and they looked like they were freshly made so imagine my disappointment when I got my order and I received fries, not only where they fries, but they were humongous fries and not even cooked all the way through. I also ordered a dessert which were deep-fried cheesecake which in the picture showed as cheesecake egg rolls so imagine my disappointment again when that is not what I received The first two pictures or the pictures are what they advertise the second two pictures are what I received do better O'Brien's. read more

We've been coming to O'Brien's for a while now and have noticed a significant decline in the level of service. When it takes someone to go to the bar to get their check to pay for their bill after 20 minutes, it makes for a very unpleasant experience. They didn't have 3 beers that we asked for, and while they had the special on their burgers, given how long it took to get our beverages, we cut our losses and headed out. The same band we saw in the past had the same sound issues where you couldn't hear the singer. She had a wonderful voice, when you could hear it. I think they either need a new sound man or O'Brien's needs to have their connections checked. We really do enjoy going there, but tonight sucked ass, which is why we didn't spend more on food or time listening to the band. We will not be back for a while....other patrons outside shared similar dissatisfaction this evening. Let's see if they get it together. read more

Just stopped in tonight to have a beer dinner and no ultra draft , sweet tea had to made a week ago. Could barely read the menu so decided it was best to leave . The place used to be a Spot . Now in dire need of Bar Rescues John Taffer. Wont be back and grew up in the place . read more

Got a to-go order of Shepherd's Pie, as we've loved it in the past and don't get to enjoy often due to the distance from our home. What we got for $14 a serving was 2 disgustingly greasy, rancid tasting slop that in no way resemble what we've had on other visits. It was so bad even the dog and our least finicky cats wouldn't touch it. The only edible part of our meal was the toast. read more

Have great events but need serious help in customer service. Multiple visits where you have to go find your waitress to order a drink and then she often forgets you ordered. Last night we finally ordered buckets for the table to try to make it easier on her. Was there about 30min before we were able to place a drink order then it was about the one hour mark before she was ready to take our food order. Two hours later, we still didn't have our food (never got our food). I then asked to close the tab and mentioned our food was never delivered and it appears she never put in the order. Left without eating and unhappy with the Service. Hope they fix the problem because we support several of the entertainers they bring in. read more

Headline: Disappointing experience for a large group--Beware. I booked O'Brien's on Lumsden for a birthday luncheon of 49 people. I called multiple times in advance to confirm they could accommodate a group of this size, and was told repeatedly it was "no problem." Unfortunately, they were completely understaffed. They did not have enough servers or cooks to handle our party and the regular customers simultaneously. Because the service and kitchen were so backed up, our timeline was ruined and I couldn't finish the birthday plans I had scheduled. If you are planning a large event, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere. They are happy to take the booking, but they aren't equipped to execute it. read more

A decent, local, pub/bar establishment. OIP has been here in the Brandon area for many years. The food is ok, nothing fancy, and use of the fryer is the main cooking theme. There are sandwiches and burgers too Bier was cold and great tasting. read more

Driest Rueben sandwich ever; had been sitting after grilling for awhile in the kitchen. Sandwich bread was room temp along with the corned beef. Too bad, as the service was cheerful and attentive. read more

I thought i wrote this review, lol Came here after picking up my mom from her dentist. I never been to this business ever. Theres one like 10 mins from my house. I am picky of where i go that is a bar type thing. I has many miss adventures in other bars but i tend to behave the closer they are to home. Ya know? Kiss a guy, kiss a girl, both, two guys or three girls? Away from home? Who cares, but not near my safe zone? No way. Lol food? Yeah food was great! Since mom went with my pic of Sheppards pie? I went with the fish n chips. I gotta say.... I had a different image in my head. Normally when i order this in other Irish bars i get duped n get like more batter than fish. Not here! Thin crust of batter n huge pieces if fish. Nice crispy texture and well balance of sodium to the pallet. Fries were great also. Ate the Fack outa it. I trued the Sheppards pie n it was legit good. Looked small until i dug into it. Its big enough for a 1 person meal. The cheese sticks apps was the culprit in why i couldn't help her eat it. Sticks were perfect also. I kept the sauce to bathe my fish in it. I totally forgot what beer i order. It was a red ale. Tasted similar to what i been brewing at home. I previously wanted to try a Cream ale. I been trying to understand the pallet for it. I brewed three batches using different techniques but wanted to have a better clue to what i should target towards flavor n texture. Yes texture!! Cream ales are corn based some use Lactose sugar some don't. I make a mean creamy ale with lactose sugar must n then later in priming. Gives it a silky texture very gentle in the mouth. But a true cream ale isn't creamy. O_o a las i might as well keep coming back until i get blessing from the beer goddess to try what they got on tap. Before u tell me to go buy it in bottle form? They're not the same. Keg vs bottled stuff? Its world apart. The hops, yeast and notes are very controlled in bottles so they don't explode. Kegs? They can handle pure blend no drama. But Josefina why you going to bars to buy booze you can make? Cuz I support all brewers n bars. Also cuz sometimes this unicorn likes to trot lol joke aside? Like i said, i enjoyed my visit. Should come back during the night n check out the live shows. Need to get out more too!! read more

Came here to watch the Ohio State football game, and it's definitely an Ohio state bar. You can't get a seat unless you reserve one. The food we had wasn't good though. We ordered the appetizer platter, and half the platter was 3 Reuben egg rolls, which were inedible to me. I make them at home, with sliced corned beef, sliced Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and thousand island dressing. Theirs may have consisted of these ingredients, but the filling was all ground up, a mushy consistency, and indiscernable ingredients. We left 2 1/2 egg rolls on the platter, told the waitress, to no avail, just a blank look on her face. All I can say is, they do know how to pour a proper Guinness, which not all bartenders know how to do. read more

Pretty standard Irish Pub/Grille. We sat outside, which for an early Saturday evening wasn't too busy. Service was good, the drinks are reasonably priced and the food was pretty decent. I actually really liked the buffalo chicken dip. It was flavorful and very cheesy, My fiancé had the Philly cheese steak which was okay. Has that typical Irish pub smell of beer and cigarettes outside. The bathrooms were very unkept, less than desirable, but it isn't a fancy place... it is definitely a chilled spot for drinks and affordable food! I imagine it is a popular neighborhood pub, because the patrons and the staff seemed to know each other. read more

first off, the place was dirty, dated and very dimly lit. The beer was warm and the cocktails were watered down. My Margarita flatbread was a Joke with overly thick sauce, some cheese and 1 sliced cherry tomatoe on top. No basil either. Understaffed on a Friday night with a popular band. Terrible service. Or totally lack of service. Waitresses look at you at least 5x and still don't ask you what you want. Food took almost an hour and a half to come. And then it's salad Nachos, not chicken Nachos. WTF is salad Nachos anyway? No manager on duty, poor never showed when asked to speak to one. I highly recommend O'Brien's. Brandon if you're planning on holding a party or event. I held a close friend's birthday party in the party room and it was a huge success. Tamara is an absolute gem and has a love for her job that shows. I can't thank her enough for all her help and suggestions with the food menu, party room and drinks. The atmosphere was perfect and the food was delicious with many of our guests complimenting. I was there on a Friday night to see a friends band. I remember it being such an awesome place back in the day but it has really gone downhill in the past 5 -7 years or so. The food is over priced and sub par. My boyfriend got a sampler that cost $18 and the only good thing on it were the boneless wings, the rest was edible. I ordered a pizza that the menus stated was hand tossed but it clear was not. Hard, tasteless crust on the outside and soggy in the middle. Fell apart as soon as I picked a slice up and it took forever to come out of the kitchen for not being busy. Most of the staff was friendly but one I felt was not happy to be there. We went there with some friends to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. I called ahead to find out what festivities were going on. When we walked in there, the hostess said to find your own seat. All the tables were cluttered with trash. We had to clear off on our our table and never did get it wiped down. The corned beef was so so. Everything was served on Styrofoam plates with plastic forks, spoons, and knives. The green beer on tap was watered down. Overall it was a very disappointing experience. Several friends and I were looking forward to hearing Marion, a local acoustic guitarist, on Saturday, 8/5. We'd seen him on YouTube ​(youtube.com/@marion.martin) and were excited to see him live- his music is awesome! However, when I called to make a reservation they told me Marion had canceled - what??? I reached out to him and he said O'Brien's canceled him to put a DJ in for a private party just a few days before his performance, not cool! Really screwed up our plans! This rating I am giving has no reflection on the business O'Briens Pub, the staff and service were wonderful. Food (shrimp and fries were amazingly delicious). The servers were friendly and very attentive and the drinks were great too. This rating of one star, is about the Harry Potter trivia event on September 7,2022. ONLY!!!!!! Wish I could have given, no star. What a scam. The host Matthew Anderson only want to drink free and give extra points to bribe the people, to get them to buy Matthew drinks. Went to O'Briens for a trivia night. It was a Harry Potter trivia and I was told that you get extra points for being dressed. Came in costume. I am a true Potterhead, and was truly excited to be at my very first Harry Potter trivia event! The host of the event is Matthew Anderson. The unbelievable action this person, Mr Matthew Anderson host of the Harry Potter trivia statement, just make me Extremely Concerned. Matthew Anderson the trivia host, Announced "if you want 4 extra points to the trivia score, just buy a $4 shot and get 4 Bonus points, and if you do not want to drink too much, because you are driving, thar drink (that you pay $4 for and get 4 extra points) can some way make it up the my table!!!!" This is when I walked out.... What a shyster or maybe a Desperate alcoholic', Who wants to drink all night for free and you may bribe him so you could win the game, knowledge means nothing......... If I ever see Matthew Anderson as a host to a trivia event and I am able to Comment I will make a very negative comment on his event. Again this one star rating is only on the trivia event. The place is horrible. I ordered a Philly cheesesteak and the thing was not edible. I am giving the place a 1 star because I couldn't give it a 0 (zero) star. Don't spend your money there. Street vendors foods are much tastier. Their pizza is not even good. Basically ketchup with Kraft cheese on top. Besides the food, the overall experience was below subpar. The entertainment seemed like some band that was picked up at a subway station. When I addressed all these problems to the management, they told me that they would take care of it, but in the end, nothing was taken care of, and I even saw them wasting time by chatting it up with other employees and guests instead of taking care of the concerns we shared with them. My favorite bar! This place is great for kicking back and enjoying well mixed drinks without the crazy up charges of a restaurant. Their menu is not huge, but their food is good and comes to the table hot. Drinks are always mixed strong enough to love them, but not too strong to ask for more juice. The staff, is friendly and the girls are good at keeping p when the place gets packed on Friday and Saturday afternoons. For the sport fanatics, O'Briens has multiple tv, they will even put on your channel. You can sit indoors, outside. There is a room big enough to host an event. This was the first time we had ever been there and we were wanting to try out local places as we only recently moved to Brandon. It also happened to be my birthday. They open at noon, we arrived for lunch at 12:30. There was one table already seated and some other customers playing darts. Absolutely no staff in sight, anywhere. No one to seat us, no one visible in the kitchen, no one anywhere. After a few minutes we left. We came here to watch a PPV UFC fight. It was open seating, which was nice. They have a pretty good craft beer selection. We ordered Garlic Parm chicken wings & hot buffalo chicken wings. I loved the Garlic Parmesan, but my husband wasn't a fan. He loved the hot buffalo, but it was too vinegary for me. We ordered the Hawaiian Pizza, but we requested marinara sauce instead of the Thai Chili sauce that it normally is made with at this restaurant. The sauce & the dough was pretty bland. Hubby thought it was ok. I ordered the corned beef & cabbage. The corned beef was very good, but the cabbage/potatoes/carrots were bland & overcooked. The service was very good even though it was crazy busy that night because of the PPV UFC fight. I would come back here again to watch another PPV fight so I can try other dishes, like the Shepherd's Pie. I will update my review on my next visit. We asked if we could sit down. Then we asked for a Server 4 times over 20 minutes. We told them we were on a lunch hour. We asked if we would have time to eat there? Horrible experience. I went to the owner who said for the 3rd time someone would be right over when we tried to order at the bar. This was 1:40, it is now 2:04 we finally have water and utensils though no food. VERY Shepard's Pie small portion for $14. It was the size of a side dish. Not many vegetables, but the flavor was good. My brother had Bangar and Mash. He didn't like the Bangar's, it came with Brocolli, that was raw. It took an hour and 40 minutes. We should have left the third time we asked for a Server. read more

Great food and beer for Irish or American. Been here a couple of times for their Monday Smartphone Trivia Night. It's fun and they have cash prizes. I usually get the Burger special with fries. For $7, it can't be beat. Add a Blue Moon and I'm good to go. read more

The bar staff was amazing and so friendly. I haven't tried the food yet but it smelled really good. For a busy bar they do a great job keeping it clean! Update! I tried their food and it was pretty good. I will say that we have had the same server the past few times we have been there and she is AMAZING! When you go, make sure you ask for Andrea. I can see her training the other servers in a manager role, that's how good she is. read more
