The bartenders are lovely, but the chef is a lazy dickhead whose job apparently "isn't to help bring out food," even when the bartenders are clearly slammed trying to keep up with a packed bar. Apparently teamwork isn't part of the chef's job description, and neither is cooking the fucking carrots in the shepherd's pie. If you decide to come here, stick to the drinks and skip the food. I think this location is growing on me. Certainly isn't the original, however, the location is pretty central, right downtown and easily accessible from Curtis Hixon and the Riverwalk. I do hate that downtown has implemented required paid parking everywhere 24/7 now. That's a deterrent, but not 4GF's fault! The food is decent, I've had the Cobb salad with chicken multiple times and the fish n chips. Magners is almost always my choice of drink. I've sat inside and out. I've sat at the bar. I've been here during the week, on weekends, day time and night. But I've not really been here on a Saturday night when they have live music. Usually the Saturday nights I've been here, there's been some sort of event at the park that has live music... There was this one time a guy happened to be walking by with his fiddle outside and he stopped and played us a couple tunes. That was a fun surprise. The service is friendly. Unfortunately, like most places more recently, it's understaffed. So props to those who are there, it's much appreciated. I like this spot, I am not sure why I don't love it... 11/11/24 - Were surprised how few people (4 besides us and the bartender) were there late in the afternoon. We weren't aware that we had to order at the bar, but I guess that's on us. We ordered beer and after a while we also placed a food order, which was brought to our table. The beer was cold and the food (fish and chips as well as fish tacos) was terrific! Went here for a late lunch with my family after exploring the children's museum and waterfront park. The restaurant was not very busy given the time of day. The bartender was our server, and she was attentive and great with my toddler. The mac & cheese was a hit with the little one, and I really enjoyed my black bean burger with fries. The shrimp appetizer with the Thai chili sauce and bacon were also really good. My husband really enjoyed the mussels too. It was the weekend after St. Patrick's Day, so maybe that's why the interior looked a little worse for wear. But it is an Irish pub after all. read more

Cozy Irish bar along side the Tampa Riverwalk, at Curtis Hixon park. Four Greens offers drinks, snacks, and official riverwalk to go cups. Located just steps away from downtown attractions, and open during the pandemic. The brews are mostly Irish, including Magners hard cider, and they offer plenty of other liquors to quench your thirst. The food menu lacks gluten free options so I can't vouch for the flavors. Overall one of my favorite stops to refill while walking. At least a dozen pleasurable experiences so far. read more

Really happy to have this place right in the heart of the Riverwalk. Having been a patron of the original for 15 years is a little piece of home over here. Great place to have a beer and watch the Tampa blue sky pass overhead. One of the few places in town to get a Kilkenny beer. Fantastic! Food is reasonable with sandwiches & salads around $10, burgers around $12. However, beer & cocktails are pricey... Miller Draft at $5.75, Kilkenny at $7.25 and Absolut mule at $10.50?!?! I've never seen it too busy so service is quick and friendly. They have a smoking patio on one side and a seating patio on the other which is a great way to keep the smoke out of the patrons eating. Everyone wins. Easy bike ride or walk from Channelside or Armature works. They have gender neutral bathrooms. The first time I can say this as it always comes up on the Yelp suggestion things. There were multiple people that came in after us who had their drinks and served before us even though their order was taken after we ordered. It took about a half hour for our food to come out. My wife ordered a chicken sandwich and it came back raw. Looked like it was quickly seared and then brought out. When we told the waitress she took it back. While this Four Green Fields location lacks some of the authentic charm compared to their original Platt Street pub, this is a wonderful addition to Curtis Hixon Park. I was pleased to find the same great menu at the Four Green Fields in Curtis Hixon Park. We enjoyed a round of pints and split the shepherd's pie. The shepherd's pie is nothing fancy, just pure comfort food. The bartender was super nice and checked on us multiple times. As soon as she saw our son we were swapping baby stories. The outdoor patio is smoke free and dog friendly, but we chose to sit inside with the A/C since we had just finished taking a long stroll along the Riverwalk. Will definitely be back soon! read more

They appear to only have one person (not including kitchen) manning the place at a time making service slower than desired overall. My experience here has only been about average, serving its purpose. It's a decent, cozy spot to fulfill your adult beverage needs. The food and drinks okay. Though, I wish they included more meat in the reuben rolls (mostly cabbage). It's a decent location for a bar hop. read more

I love the fact that this place is right in Curtis Hixon. After a walk it makes such a nice bar to stop for some drinks and finger food! Had the flight of their craft beers and every single one was a hit for my girlfriend and I. Then we got hungry, and checked out some recommendations, which led us to the genius choices of the soda bread and the meatballs with their specialty Guinness gravy. People... people!!! That gravy was phenomenal. I would put that gravy on anything! The soda bread was also very unique and delicious. Those two made a great snack with our drinks. The staff here is friendly. The space has seating variety and all well-spaced-out for social distancing. Next time you're in Curtis Hixon, stop here for a cold beer. I've been wanting to try this place since they opened in the park! I ride my bike past here often and always wonder why it's not jam packed...I have the answer now. FGF is marginal at best, food is better than the service, but even it isn't great. I had the grilled chicken sandwich and I don't know if the bun was super sized or the chicken breast was extremely small but they were not in tune with one another! Waitress was borderline rude... We sat outside and evening, it was hot, we drink all her water and her glasses remained empty for the duration of our meal. My husband actually had to go inside to pay the check because our waitress never came out again. Pass on FGF, there too many other great options downtown. read more

Not much to say here.. we came in on a Saturday night hoping to get a late night meal. The sign said, "Please seat yourself," so we did. Then an Irish band started playing a fun song where the whole pub participated, including who I'm guessing was the only waitress in the joint. Well she was just having a fantastic time with her friend, so I thought she'd come over and help us out after the song. Nope, she disappeared somewhere in the back after we'd already been waiting for about 10 minutes. I checked the hours to make sure they weren't about to close, and the hours said open till 3 AM (we were there at 10:30 PM). We decided to peace out, because we were hungry and I thought that if it's taking this long for someone to say hello, then who knows when we'll get our food. I'm not rating it 1 star, because unfortunately we never got to try anything. Maybe the food is great, but we wouldn't know. Went to Curtis hixon location today around 2 in the afternoon with a party of 7. This is not my first time here, had excellent experiences each time prior. Today was a different story. The bartender, who had 1 other guest, was completely off putting, rude, and had zero desire to provide service. When ordering at the bar because she was too busy with her 1 other guest to come to our table, made it so uncomfortable that we left without ordering a thing. 3 stars only because other times were super fun. So excited to see it this place has the same feel as the original for Greenfields on the inside. The outside door also looks very similar being a white building with the green door. I also love how they kept the idea of no TVs on the inside and hope that they never get TVs. It's nice to know there's a place in town where you can go and just talk as opposed to have to sit and stare at a screen. We ate here on day 1 of Tampa Summer of Rum Festival. They offered a limited menu but it seemed to have all the favorites on it. The husband had the shepherds pie potato skins, I had the burger and fries and an order of onion rings we shared. Everything was satisfactory. Nothing spectacular. Great second location to the original, thatched roof and all. The location is prefect if you are in the area, attending a event in Curtis Hixon or walking the riverwalk (great stop on your crawl). They have in-door & out door seating plus an area to the one side with a to-go window, which you can get your drink in a plastic cup that you are allowed to take down the River Walk. They are also dog friendly and have water bowls outside for the pups. They have a full menu, drinks and oysters. The food is good British pub food with a good amount of options. The bar has the full range of beers, liquors and wines. Plenty of options to keep you going. Also, they are do brew some beers offsite. You will enjoy your stop! read more

This is the perfect place to stop and get off your feet after a walk along the Hillsborough River. The servers are extremely kind and attentive, the food is delicious, and the bar is always fully stocked! The atmosphere is reminiscent of a genuine Irish pub as is the menu. I have yet to order anything on the menu that wasn't even better than I had anticipated. The soda bread is one of my biggest guilty pleasures as well as anything topped with their Guinness gravy! Plus, if after a bite you want to keep walking, you can ask for a "riverwalk cup" and bring your beer along with you. This place gets an A+ from me! read more

Great location, great bartenders and service but food disappointing. This Irish Pub has 2 locations in Tampa. The other one is an actual thatched cottage on the other side of the river. It is a true Irish Pub in atmosphere and decor, no TVs as pubs were a social gathering place or Public House, I love that! You can take your drinks outside along the Riverwalk served in plastic cups. But the food needs improvement. The shepherds pie was bland, no seasoning and served with melted cheese. The Guinness Stew, good flavor but too salty, had no vegetables in it and Irish Soda bread was dry. I would suggest that the owner taste the food for consistancy. I would have otherwise given this place at least 4 stars. Hopefully the owner will take note. read more
