Tuesday nights has become a regular visit to O'Brion's Pub on Shelmore in I'on neighborhood due to it being a new weekly location for Team Trivia. What a great spot.. I had visitors this pub years ago but since then it has been renovated. It gives off an old English vibe inside despite being an Irish pub. It's decorated beautifully and it is super busy. I have to say it's one of the best places I've been to recently for excellent service vibes. The staff are attentive & efficient. They just put out a new food menu and I have to say it's varied & great... The cheesesteak... oh my... the mashed potatoes... oh my... the big plate of shareable nachos. It's all great. Team trivia here is fun, The only negative thing is that it's loud inside. Lots of people. A lot of shaded areas to sit outside also. Put this spot on your list for a casual spot to catch up with friends & have great pub food. read more

The perfect quite literally neighborhood pub! It's dark and stormy on the inside, but also has outdoor seating if that's what you need. The bartenders are always so friendly and kind and so on top of things. We love visiting on Tuesday with $8 cheesesteak night. A chicken or steak Philly with fries for $8. AMAZING! Only catch is the deal starts after 7pm when trivia starts. The sandwiches are a little different because the meat is super super chopped and mixed with the veggies and cheese but they are delicious. You can also sub out your side for any of the other 10 options! The fried okra is also pretty good! They of course have a full bar with cheap domestics and about 8 beers on tap which always includes Guinness! They're undergoing some renovations so I can't wait to see how they change things up a bit and make it a little more fresh. But this pub is definitely worth the visit! read more

A good place for a late night dinner, as I arrived at Mount Pleasant area rather late. Their famous Ruben sandwich was very good, lots of layers of meat in between. The fried flounder fish and chips was also very good. The fish was crispy on the outside and juicy inside with generous amount of fries. The service was good and attentive! read more

I'm not sure if it was the 3 glasses of wine I had or what, but for bar food - absolutely incredible. I ordered the Obrions burger which came with fries and the habanero heat wings because I love spice. The Obrions burger is probably one of the best burgers I've ever had. And at a decent price - $13. Lots of flavors intertwined and the bacon jam added a tinge of sweetness. Loved it. The fries that came as a side were also amazing too. I didn't have time to snap a photo because they were so good. They had some sort of seasoning on them that was basically candy. I also liked how they were perfectly crisp. The wings were great too, but they were not spicy at all, at least for someone who loves spicy food. I would've ordered an extra side of the sauce for added heat, but it was a busy Friday night and it appeared they were short staffed. Talk about a class act. This simple neighborhood pub is an absolute focal point in this community. I have been coming here for over ten years and it just keeps getting better than ever. Since Covid they have improved their food program ten fold. Might be the best Philly cheese steak this side of the cooper river. Ask anyone about their chicken tenders they are stories of legends. The surrounding area is beautiful for this small Irish pub. The servers are quite friendly but in a bit of a rush. You can tell the place has their "usuals" in there often. The food is just ok. I wish it tasted a bit fresher or more flavorful. I'd be back to try it again but it was a bit disappointing. There is street parking with meters unless you find a spot just down the street closer to the houses. Taking a left just before the restaurant is the closest place for this. read more

We stopped by this neighborhood Irish pub after 8pm Saturday night for some beer and food. While we had decent food the poor service will keep us away. Inside it was not busy, with a few customers at the bar and just one pub table with 4 others. Service started decently enough, but the first round of beer was slow to arrive. We ordered an appetizer of hangover fries, which also arrived slowly and were not very hot. After seeing our server all around the bar area with the other table, she finally stopped by to get our order. Once again the time for the food was slow, and it was not busy. All this time we had noticed our server with the table next to us joining in some drinks and PDA. Then also noticed the chef coming out of the kitchen to chit chat with same table. Our server even apologized for how long it took for our 4 top order to be done. The only good part was my hamburger was very delicious, cooked as ordered and hot. The fries this time were also crispy hot. Local neighborhood pub - sure. Food - decent and would order again. Service - not good and not worth it. One and done. O'Brion's is about what you'd expect from a neighborhood Irish pub - it's nothing to write home about, but it serves its purpose well. You can always find a spot at the bar, or a table if that's more your jam, and the beers on tap are a solid selection. At my most recent visit I ordered the French Dip, of which I consider myself somewhat of a connoisseur. The beef was plentiful, and very tender; the bread was soft and chewy with a slightly crisp outer layer; and the jus was really flavorful, which made it extra disappointing that there wasn't enough jus for the whole sandwich - I had to eat my last few bites un-dipped :( The melted Swiss had been laid on top of the sandwich rather than inside, so I had to peel it off and rearrange it inside the bread - that was kind of annoying. Fries were good but kind of a small portion, especially compared to the portion my bf got with his sandwich. Seemed like the space that the container of jus took up on the plate meant that I sacrificed a handful of fries. C'est la vie. In conclusion - if you're local to Mt P and need to get out of the house for a drink and some grub, don't hesitate to check this one out. But don't cross a bridge for it. read more

Went there on a Wednesday night for a quick bite to eat and some beers. I sat at the bar and ordered Guinness, Philly Cheesesteak sandwich and a side of fries. The Guinness was well poured and fresh. O'Brion's claims to have real Philly cheesesteaks, I can't say that they are close to it but it was fairly tasty. The sand which could use a bit more peppers and onions but it's comes stocked with meat and cheese. The fries were crisp and salty but they weren't hot, just luke warm. Overall it was a three star meal. That being said, O'Brion's does have a fun Irish pub feel and is an easy place to grab dinner so I will likely return. read more

I had the worst experience at any restaurant of all time here. First off, our waitress Myriah had the worst attitude ever and was short and rude to all of us (however she claimed she was 'nice'). We sat outside and first waited for anyone to come and take our drink orders for about 10 minutes. We wanted to look at the drink menu and without saying anything she walks away and comes back later with the drink menu. She asked to see our IDs and then before we were even able to order a drink she immediately walks away without saying anything. We had to call her back to order our drinks (to which we waited 30 minutes for). We had an additional person in our party who arrived shortly after and we were able to put our food orders in and the additional guest ordered a sweet tea. When we were ordering and tried to order the nachos, she then said that their oven was broken. This should have been communicated as we were given menus, especially considering half their menu consists of flatbreads. After ordering, we waited almost 35 minutes for our food and realized she never brought over the sweet tea. Two of our party ordered the buffalo chicken sliders which clearly states on the menu comes with side of Cole slaw but neither person got it. The waitress never came back or stopped to ask us if anything was missing or if we needed anything else and we did not see her again until right before we got the check for the first refill we got the whole time on our drinks (which was all water except the sweet tea). When she brought us our check she basically threw them down on our table and then walked away. The whole night she had an attitude with us and was rude and you could clearly tell she did not want to be serving us. We all have never left a poor tip but felt that she deserved it (we each left about 10-12%). We were the only table outside until one table that joined as we were leaving and there were only 2 tables inside when we went to use the bathroom. She came to take our checks and we got up to leave and not even 30 seconds after she comes back out and starts yelling at us about us leaving a bad tip. She starts demanding if we've ever worked food and beverage and asking why we left such bad tips. One of our party members explains how she works in food and beverage and know when something is the fault of the server or the fault of the kitchen. After explaining all of the details, she continues to yell at us in front of the restaurant about how she was nice to us and made us drinks so we should have given her a tip for that. After she says her piece we all say okay, have a good night and leave. After leaving the restaurant and discussing about the total unprofessionalism we just experienced, we decided to go back inside to speak with the manager. As we were walking in, we over hear the waitress speaking to a group of customers at the bar about what happened. She is claiming that we told her to F off and overall exaggerating the events and painting herself to be the perfect server. The manager was unhelpful as well and never once apologized and just said that he would speak with her. Then, this morning we see a Facebook post that she has posted as anonymous to a public group with more than 30k people talking about the situation. She posted pictures of our receipts that had our legal names and credit card information for all to see and once again was exaggerating the events and telling lies about what actually happened. I understand that it is frustrating to not get a good tip, but if you give terrible service then it should be expected. And the absolute unprofessionalism for you to post all of information publicly online is absolutely wild. We will be contacting the owner of the restaurant about this waitress and what actually happened. read more
