    Extra saucy buffalo wings
    Sara R.

I LOVE buffalo style chicken wings and probably eat them at least one a week. So, I got a late night hankering for some wings and just happened to be near @my_fathers_stache in Mt. P. We ordered the buffalo wings extra saucy and they came out perfectly! Great size and perfectly cooked! Even better that they gave us a ton of ranch to dip them in. I will be adding their rings into my wing rotation now!

What more do you want from a British dove bar? Atmosphere, dark vibes, strong drinks and solid bar food. Even some Gluten Free Options. The Loaded Baked Potato Soup was killer. No complaints about their service either. Happy to have a favored friend in the Silly Walks business... They were pretty busy outside and at the bar but not many seated around 3-4pm on a Sunday so no issues here!

We visited several times wanting this to be our local. That will go unfulfilled. The food was average at best. The service was slow and not in any particular order. No table service. It's should be a fun place with pool tables, darts and other games. Music was on one night, not another and the Super Bowl the other night. There was a wide variety of local craft and national brands of beer. The fish ands chips were served warm with the French fries not crispy enough. The fish was disappointing - a large, heavily battered piece of fish that was relatively crispy on top and mushy on the bottom. Had to ask for silverware and napkins while sitting at the bar. The BLT was good but with little substance - not enough bacon, lettuce or tomato. The chicken wings were cooked well with a nice honey siracha topping, but nothing exceptional.

    Warm pretzels and rarebit

Great Irish pub, very divey so don't expect much except good drinks and a few standout dishes!! I saw the Union Jack symbol outside so thought they would have a Pimms cup but alas, no luck. Instead had a refreshing glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Loved playing darts, they also have some other games like billiards and a shuffle board of some sort. They have live music on Friday nights but I'm in my quiet era and dipped out before that lol overall staff is friendly - just go to the bar to request and order food from the menu vs. sitting down. I found my dish to be yummy - got the fish n chips, well seasoned chips plus the pretzels were huge!! Loved dipping the hot present into the ooey gooey rarebit!

We came for the sushi and left beyond satisfied! Dive bar atmosphere with great service and great vibes. Will definitely be returning. Beats any other sushi we've had in Charleston.

Stopped here while we were on vacation to watch the premier league soccer game on Saturday morning. They were only showing football which was disappointing but after we inquired they took the time to change a TV for us. We enjoyed a few beers and admired their nice selection of local and classics. They didn't have any sours on tap which would be nice considering their popularity. We also tried their signature burger and tater tots which was delicious. The place is decked out in fun British culture and has pool tables and a stage for live entertainment. It looks like they offer weekly events but I noticed their Instagram is not active so ignore the "closed until further notice" COVID post. There was a drunk guy bothering us and the bartender helped clear up the situation which is always appreciated and definitely earns 5 stars.

Never had a chance to try the food or service. Our first impression was an entrance so filthy we didn't want to speculate what the kitchen looked like. A quick glance inside showed a dark and shabby interior. Would any potential diner open this door?

The evening we were here there was an actual singer/guitar/bouzouki/ banjo player who really is Irish! Fantastic performance and the sound system was way above what you might expect in a small establishment like this. Impressive. The ambience was friendly and festive, and though many were clearly there for socializing and not as attentive in listening to the music as we were, it did not take away from our enjoyment of it! The crowd did eventually get engaged enough with several songs to dance and sing along. As expected the Guinness was tasty and it was well poured, but the surprise was the food was really quite good. A bit of an Irish pub theme with "bangers and mash" ( grilled sausages over mashed potatoes) and the chicken curry were quite tasty and filling at a fair price. One of the wait staff was sick so the staff was a bit harried and behind when the unexpectedly large crowd arrived for the music, but it all got sorted out and they remained friendly and attentive through it all. I personally love the menu, but there are few vegetarian options, and not much in the way of salads and such. It is early yet, and as the kitchen matures and the work gets out to the locals I expect the menus will develop more options in this area. But we will definitely plan a return trip here!

Not very good for consumer planning My friend said the fish and chips were good. There was only one person there working and it was lunchtime. The service was good, although slow. We enjoyed the cocktails and beers we had. They've got a nice stage so I'm assuming there's live music as well. We got up there and played around a bit, and the bartender had a fun time laughing at us. Maybe with a constant happy hour menu, we will try it out again!

A group of about 8 of us went out for drinks Saturday (5/2/26). We were having a great time (respectful, quiet, not causing a problem). Last call hit at 1:30 so we decided one more drink before we went our ways home. 10 mins later we're were asked to leave the courtyard and head inside - not a problem. We will finish our drinks inside. 5 minutes after that, we were asked to take our last sips and leave. 15 mins before the posted closing time. Again, we weren't causing a problem, weren't loud, weren't disruptive. This was a group of 8, most of us well into our 40s (or older). But they were telling all guests to leave at 1:45a?? Just after we bought drinks? The posted hours say they close at 2a. Not 1:45a. Most of us left half finished drinks. The large bouncer was nice enough, the tiny one in a hoodie with glasses was totally unprofessional. So beware. The Blind Tiger has what it takes to remain a Charleston institution. Their staff, might ruin that chance.

So when my family and I received some truly remarkable medical news this week, the kind of victory you save for a proper toast, Red Drum was the obvious choice. What better place to celebrate a long-awaited milestone than with familiar faces and a pork chop I've trusted since the era of dial-up internet? Well. About that pork chop. Two of us ordered the longtime menu staple. We expected the same giant, butcher's-best chop that has anchored the plate forever. What arrived instead felt like someone had rewritten a classic without reading the original. Gone were the lovely fresh tomatoes and potatoes, the bright bites that used to sing alongside the chop, along with the subtle demi that once tied everything together. In their place, Brussels sprouts were doing a full backstroke in an acid bath. And not, unfortunately, the fun kind of acid bath. I would have been fine with the sprouts but this sauce... The sauce was so sharp and dominant that it steamrolled the pork entirely. Since it made up the entire base of the dish, there was no escaping it. I later learned there were supposed to be potatoes mixed in, hash-style, but my portion must have pulled a vanishing act because not a single potato was found. My dining partner fared no better. Between the two of us, the equivalent of an entire pork chop went back to the kitchen. When we told our server the sauce tasted "off," she reacted with all the urgency of someone being told their shoelace is untied. There was no concern, no apology, and no curiosity. Our third diner ordered the salmon. He said it was very good, and the corn pudding was too, but even he missed the potato that used to round out the plate. For forty-one dollars, he said the meal felt "undercut," and I agree. When the most satisfied person at the table feels shorted, that is not great. Dessert was a bright spot. The hot butter rum toffee and the doughnuts hit the mark. By then, however, I was too busy fuming, more effectively than the pork, over the indifference that hung over the whole evening. No manager ever came by. I am not convinced our feedback reached anyone. By the time the bill arrived, it felt like our waitress wanted us to pay, smile, and scurry along. This was when the night took another strange turn. As she handed me the check, I asked about a familiar husband and wife duo who had served at Red Drum for years. They were beloved, memorable, and unmistakably professional. Anyone who has eaten at Red Drum even semi-regularly knows exactly who I mean. They were fixtures. I asked if they were working that night so I could say hello. The waitress casually told me they had been gone for some time and had left under "not good circumstances." That was when my eyebrows reached escape velocity. If you know Red Drum, the Red Drum of years past, you know that couple. You know the level of professionalism, the consistency, and the connection they brought to the room. You know they were not the "leave under not good circumstances" type. The comment felt off, unnecessary, and frankly a little concerning. It made me wonder what has really changed behind the scenes and what regulars will think when they read this. By then, curiosity pushed me to look around the room. It was nearly empty. It was 6:45 p.m. on a Tuesday. Yes, a weeknight, but dinner hour all the same. In years past, this place buzzed no matter the night. You could not get a last-minute reservation without divine intervention. Suddenly the ease of getting one this time made a whole lot more sense. I genuinely wanted this to be a triumphant return, a full-circle moment after a long illness and a day of wonderful news. Instead, it was a sobering reminder that somewhere along the way, Red Drum lost the plot, and maybe a lot more than its potatoes. After reflecting on our experience, I called the restaurant to share my concerns, but three business days have passed without a return call.
