two glasses of beer and a drink

We stopped into O'Lacy's Pub late one night after dinner. I had just gotten into Summerville to visit a friend so I was glad to see more of this cute downtown. This pub has so much more character than I expected. It feels vintage and cozy. It's super clean and offers couch seating as well as traditional bar seating. There is even a jukebox. I love it. Our drinks and beer were ice cold and delicious. The bartender was nice but didn't offer up too much attention. That's ok. We still had a nice time. I would definitely stop in again for a casual evening the next time I visit my friend who lives in town.

Great little out of the way pub in Summerville. Nothing spectacular but quite cozy. Just go drink beer!!!

Just moved to Summerville and made it into O'lacy's Pub. Our bartender Hayley was very welcoming and gave a great drink recommendation.

He enjoyed the fish and chips and especially like the blue cheese coleslaw. I had the irish mac & cheese with grilled chicken that was supposed to have had Guiness somewhere in it but it was completely undetectable. I envisioned a creamy cheesy Guiness infused sauce but it was so dry and bland. It had a lot of breadcrumbs in it and sprinkled cheese on top. It came with a wee salad that had homemade strawberry vinaigrette, again no flavor whatsoever. The salad did have nice, crisp field greens. Very disappointed. I did not complain, as it was Saturday night and really busy.

The interior decor is incredibly charming and unique, filled with old library books, ship trinkets, and authentic artifacts that give it a wonderful, traditional feel. The staff here is exceptionally welcoming and attentive. They truly take the time to make conversation with every guest, offer great suggestions from the menu, and they were even thoughtful enough to ask if we were celebrating a special occasion! We only stopped in for drinks this time around, but the food looked absolutely amazing--and the staff will happily tell you all about the different awards their menu has won. It is certainly a great stop to add to your Savannah itinerary! I suggest the blood orange Paloma and Guinness espresso martini.

Such a cute area with boutiques, bakery/coffee shops and restaurants. I was excited for, craving and hoping for fish and chips and they did not disappoint! Very friendly and welcoming staff. Now mind you there were a lot of empty tables with "reserved" on them at that point. Fast forward an hour later, because we didn't get a txt from them, we went in to see what the story was. They proceeded to tell us it would be another 30 minutes. Also the seats that had "reserved" on them were still empty! They said they would take care of us, and walked us over to the bar side, and told us we would have to stand at the counter to eat! I was fuming. The other three from my party walked out, while i proceeded to tell the manager this was extremely poor service! All he could say was they were busy. I pointed out the empty tables that were empty when we first walked in an hour ago and are still empty! They finally gave us one of those tables. We were out in an hour and guess what ...... there were still empty tables with "reserved" on them! Would NOT recommend this place to anyone! My suggestion is to go someplace else!! Like I said, our waitress was extremely nice and couldn't apologize enough.

The evening we were here there was an actual singer/guitar/bouzouki/ banjo player who really is Irish! Fantastic performance and the sound system was way above what you might expect in a small establishment like this. Impressive. The ambience was friendly and festive, and though many were clearly there for socializing and not as attentive in listening to the music as we were, it did not take away from our enjoyment of it! The crowd did eventually get engaged enough with several songs to dance and sing along. As expected the Guinness was tasty and it was well poured, but the surprise was the food was really quite good. A bit of an Irish pub theme with "bangers and mash" ( grilled sausages over mashed potatoes) and the chicken curry were quite tasty and filling at a fair price. One of the wait staff was sick so the staff was a bit harried and behind when the unexpectedly large crowd arrived for the music, but it all got sorted out and they remained friendly and attentive through it all. I personally love the menu, but there are few vegetarian options, and not much in the way of salads and such. It is early yet, and as the kitchen matures and the work gets out to the locals I expect the menus will develop more options in this area. But we will definitely plan a return trip here!

We got up there and played around a bit, and the bartender had a fun time laughing at us. Maybe with a constant happy hour menu, we will try it out again!

The drinks are priced on the higher end, but the relaxed, comfortable atmosphere makes it feel approachable. We also love that they offer seasonal and holiday cocktails, which is right up our alley. We brought Luna along and sat on the patio, which was a nice option. I would love to see heaters added outside to make the patio more comfortable on cooler nights. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive throughout our visit. I ordered the Fireside Chat (served warm), made with Four Roses Bourbon, Croft Tawny Port, apple cider, orange juice, grenadine, turbinado sugar, allspice, and clove ($15). I really enjoyed the flavor profile--warm, well-balanced, and perfect for the season. That said, I was a little disappointed that my second drink wasn't garnished nearly as nicely as the first, especially given the price. Flavor-wise, though, both were very good. My husband started with the Gingersnap, which includes Monkey Shoulder blended Scotch whisky, Disaronno almond liqueur, butterscotch liqueur, spiced ginger syrup, heavy cream, Angostura bitters, cookie rim, and nutmeg ($16). He enjoyed it but felt it was definitely a one-drink cocktail due to how sweet, creamy, and heavy it was. He also ordered the Smoked Maple-Bacon Old Fashioned with bacon fat-washed bourbon, spiced maple syrup, tobacco bitters, and a salted brown sugar rim ($16). This one was a miss for him--too sweet, with the maple and smoke overpowering the drink, and not much bacon flavor coming through. That said, the presentation was excellent; watching the smoke being lit was a highlight, and I even grabbed a video of it. Our total came to about $71 before tip, and we didn't order any food, so it's definitely on the pricier side. Still, for the ambiance, creative cocktails, and overall experience, I think it's worth it--especially for a relaxed night out with a more elevated feel.
