So we had a group of 14 take a limo bus to Toronto and this was one of our stops and I think we all agreed it was not only our favorite, but we want to include this place on our next visit! I couldn't wait to tell people about it myself! Walking in, you will be greeted and seated in an area that is lit so you can look over the menu and place your order. This is not where you eat. After placing your order, your server (who is blind), will guide you to the room that is pitch black... close your eyes in a dark room and that is how much you will see - NOTHING! I will spare the details of how it's all done because that is part of thrill! Your blind server will serve your drinks, take refill requests (or new drinks if you want to switch it up), serve you bread, apps, main course, and dessert! You can choose to be surprised or order from the listed options. The only part that was a total surprise is the apps - your choices are surprise meat, surprise seafood, surprise vegetarian. Even the drinks can be a surprise!! Surprise cocktail ... surprise red wine .. whatever! I had the surprise seafood, chicken as a main, and butter tart for dessert. Everything was phenomenal!! For a basic meal like chicken potatoes and veggies it really blew me away! The server, Ali, did an outstanding job taking care of our party of 14, as well as other tables. It's incredible how he served all of us with no sight and didn't drop or spill a thing or get anyone's order wrong! Could you imagine doing this? He even bussed the tables and took a long walk to the kitchen with everything! There is no need for ableism with the blind ... and this is the proof! They can do anything and I loved baring witness to it and being a party of an experience that takes down the barriers in the workforce. If Ali can read this: you are awesome and I appreciate you answering a question or two that I had too! You are excellent at your job! Friendly, efficient, and without error for 14 people that's no easy task and you made it seem like it was nothing! I want to say pleasing 14 people from service to food quality is impressive! I didn't even hear anyone complain about their filet which happens all too often but nope ... everyone loved it! I also have a random note: as someone with high anxiety and mild ADD, I found eating in the dark alleviated so much of that. It allowed my mind to slow down and truly enjoy the food and conversation without my mind wandering a million other places based on visual cues. It was pretty awesome and thought I would share that for anyone who has the same thing and may even be worried about eating in the dark. I absolutely look forward to coming here again. Trust the process and have a wonderful experience! FOR THOSE ALSO LOOKING TO BRING A BIG GROUP HERE: Make a reservation (obviously) Expect to be here a while (our total time here was about 2 hours and 45 minutes ... but trust me it goes by really fast as it's such a unique and fun experience!) - I am only mentioning it in case you have something else booked after dinner to give yourself ample time If different people order surprises, some may get the same thing and some may get different things! Bathrooms are as you walk in the doors from outside and on your right hand side.

Great service and wonderful environment. Ali was a great server. The food is amazing. Definitely would recommend trying the surprise if you're able to a great night where the conversation is what gears the dining experience. Awesome opportunity to go on a date and not worry about having your phone. Be brave and go for the surprise! It is definitely worth it.

ONoir restaurant is a Dine in the Dark experience that you absolutely should not miss!! It's so incredibly cool. All of the servers are visually impaired. Our server Elias was so kind and professional, explaining to us each step, each course. He did an excellent job. The food was amazing! We chose to have surprise appetizer, we decided not to get surprise entrées, and we both picked the filet mignon, and then we chose a surprise dessert. It was all fantastically cooked, well seasoned, and truly delicious. And because it is absolutely pitch black in there, you are more aware of your sense of taste, smell, touch. It was just such a unique and amazing experience. We're so glad we found it, and had a blast!

I ate at the Montreal location earlier this year so I had to come to this location too. Really cool vibe in the lobby--a basement library type of feel. After ordering in the lobby, we were escorted into the completely dark dining room by our server, Diana. She was very kind. The staff is legally blind, and best to navigate the total darkness. I ordered the 3 course dinner--appetizer, main course, and dessert. I chose to be surprised with each course. It's so fun to enjoy the flavors and textures and try to figure out what I'm eating. Turns out I had a calamari appetizer, beef main course, and chocolate cheese cake for dessert. I also had a Yummy fruity surprise cocktail. The food is delicious. Excellent experience.

    The beautiful decor!

The experience was amazing! The food was good! The waitstaff were also great! This place is absolute darkness! No light at all! Whe waitstaff who are all visually impaired literally guide you to the table. You sit and talk in the dark. And they bring you your meal. And you eat it with NO light! It's great!!!! 100% recommend!

I am taiwanese and I have to say this was delicious. There is someone actually making noodles in the back. Service was quick and very nice and upbeat. Our server, Sophia, was bubbly and friendly, giving suggestions and helping with the ordering process for the other person who wasn't as sure what they wanted. We eventually went with two appetizers and two entrees, which was more than enough food, and honestly, we could have only ordered one appetizer. The better of the two appetizers was the CAD 8.95 Hand Shredded Pepper Chicken/手撕椒麻雞/Shou Si Ji. The dish consists of cold chicken in a flavorful sauce, topped with some greens. The chicken was tender, with a mild, pleasant spice and a bit of numbingness from the Sichuan peppercorns, along with some fragrance, presumably from sesame oil. It reminded me a bit of salivating chicken you find in some Szechuan spots, but it was more aromatic and a bit less spicy. The other appetizer was the Steamed Edamame/岩鹽毛豆 with Himalayan pink salt for CAD 5.95. The other person chose between this and the vegetable dumplings, as he avoids pork, and it was, of course, lighter than the other appetizer. The decent portion of edamame was topped with some pickled carrots as a garnish. My main dish was the Braised Beef Noodles/紅燒牛肉面/Hong Shao Niu Rou Mian. The dish included several options, including size, noodle style, and spice level. I chose the large for CAD $20.95, medium spice, and for the noodle style, I chose flat/宽面, as it was closest to the prism style I like at Lanzhou spots in the States. Along with these, I also added a tea egg for an extra CAD 2.95. Outside the add-on, the dish also had a couple of large slices of radish. Compared to some spots in NYC, I slightly preferred the QQ/bouncy texture of the noodles at a spot near me. However, the broth was better here with a balanced amount of mala, though I would likely order spicy next time, as I tend to add chili oil to the relatively lighter Lanzhou broths. The beef was also much better, being tender with a mild chew regardless of whether it was tendon or other cuts. The tea egg was flavorful and worth the add-on, especially when the inside was dipped further into the broth. I can see why others order this. The other person went with the Signature Stir-fried Noodles/招牌炒面/Chao Tatiaozi. There was an option of protein, and he went with Chicken for $17.95 and added the same egg. I tried a bit, and there was a pleasant pepperiness with a bit of numbing flavor, but less than my dish. The noodles had a good bounciness and overall had a slightly better chewiness than mine. This was lighter overall, but also tasty. This spot has apparently come to the US already at the Mall of America, and I would love it if there were a location closer to me. Good place.

The station burger was the best burger of my life. I had originally wanted to order the duck, but knew at my first bite exactly why Richmond Station is so popular. The burger came medium rare and was pasture raised beef with aged cheddar and chutney. The fries were a tiny bit burnt but still good, and the aioli it came with was great. Yum! We came here to celebrate my mom's birthday and chose the tasting menu. To start, we were served a small bite of salmon tartare, which was quite flavorful. The scallop appetizer was refreshing, while the asparagus course felt a little underwhelming as a standalone dish. The two main courses were the highlights. The wild Quebec bass was fresh, tender, and perfectly cooked. The chicken was incredibly juicy and well seasoned. Although it came with a butter-based sauce, it wasn't heavy at all and paired perfectly with the bread. For dessert, the first one was a bit too sweet for my taste, but the ice cream was quite tasty. The six-course tasting menu was just the right amount for the two of us, although it might be a little small for bigger appetites.

This was first on our list, located in the Scotiabank Tower on Adelaide. We got a nice corner table, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting, not too loud but not library-like either. The music, mostly UK fare like their cuisine, played an acceptable volume that my friends and I didn't have to raise our voices. We were seated very promptly, and our server took care to attend to my friend's allergy. She even asked to change my friend's cutlery when another server brought the wrong salad. My appetizer was a hot-smoked salmon pâté, which was ok by itself, but eaten with the pickles gave it that taste I wouldn't forget. I chose for my main the Petit Roast Dinner; the cut was excellent, full of flavour and juicy to boot. The gravy for said cut just brought the roast to another level. The sides were delicious as well, especially the crispiness of the potatoes. A clean plate was the end result! Finally to finish the meal, I chose the chocolate banoffee cheesecake - I never pass on any cheesecake when it's offered. And it didn't disappoint! The banana brûlée was an interesting touch, while having toffee sauce drizzled on the cheesecake was a first (and not definitely last) for me! It's also been a reliable spot to be able to book tables for large groups. However, they have poor problem resolution if there are any issues that arise. Their food is all pretty good and drinks are fairly priced. Their staff are what I would call elusive and very no frills--beyond your first order, they're a bit hard to flag down to order additional items, settle bills, or otherwise. We had an incident where my friend ordered an alcohol-free beer, but when received, they had a sip and suspected it had alcohol in it because it tasted like the regular alcoholic version. We asked the staff to confirm if the drink they poured was actually alcoholic beer on tap, or if it was an emptied can of the alcohol-free beer. The staff came back and apologized, saying it was the alcoholic beer and poured from the tap but the order placed was indeed the alcohol-free beer. My friend then requested to have the can for the alcohol-free beer instead of poured in a glass to be safe, because she was pregnant. The staff then realized the gravity of the issue and went to get the can, saying we can keep the other glass. A few minutes later, someone who I presume to be a manager came over to say she had clarified the situation again and that it was actually NOT the alcoholic beer--which at this point we weren't inclined to trust. The manager did not apologize, but instead said that a bit of alcohol is okay when you're pregnant... We didn't say anything or raise a fuss, just smiled awkwardly. We left not too long after, and we were charged for the mistaken beer as well. This experience put a bit of damper on going to this place, as it was a frequent spot we visited for decent happy hour specials. However it's evident that staff do not know how to handle special circumstances, nor do they seem to have high EQ. If you are a person with no dietary needs, no wheelchair or crutches (because it's cramped as hell and the washrooms are located on the 2nd floor), not pregnant, and no allergies, then this place is probably fine. But if you have any of the above, then you should skip it in case of incident.

Arugula replaces basil, while a rich Parmesan cream stands in for fresh mozzarella, giving the dish a deeper, more savory profile without losing the freshness of the tomatoes. The balsamic balances the arugula's slight bitterness beautifully, and the juicy tomatoes cut through the richness of the cream. Fried capers add a pleasant burst of Mediterranean saltiness at the end. Simple ingredients, thoughtfully combined. Chicken Scarpariello This was easily the highlight of the meal. The chicken skin was beautifully seasoned and roasted until fragrant. Instead of being overly juicy, the meat was incredibly tender, with a faint blush of pink at the center. The Italian sausage had a firm, satisfying bite and a rich meaty flavor. I rarely describe roasted potatoes as "melt-in-your-mouth," but these truly were. The sauce, made with white wine, onions, peppers, and tomatoes, was so flavorful that I ended up using bread to wipe the plate clean--and still wished there had been more bread. Italian Love Cake A layered dessert of chocolate cake, ricotta cheesecake, and chocolate mousse. Each layer offered a different texture: the mousse was smooth without feeling heavy, the cake slightly dry, and the ricotta layer pleasantly crumbly. The texture was more memorable than the flavor, but it was surprisingly light to finish despite being a chocolate dessert. Tiramisu Although it's priced at $19.50, the portion is generous--about one and a half times the size of a typical tiramisu. The mascarpone was silky, rich, and pleasantly creamy with a touch of sweetness. The ladyfingers were well soaked with espresso and carried a subtle hint of liqueur. It tasted like a textbook tiramisu: everything was executed correctly, even if it wasn't particularly surprising. Many years from now, I may no longer remember the wildfire that day--but I'll probably still remember this chicken.

We had a pepperoni pizza, mushroom salad with arugula and frisée, and the pawn tagliatelle. We also had the prickly pear spritz and the lemonade. (The lemonade was better! Very refreshing with the addition of grapefruit.) The mushroom salad was fabulous. Nice and crispy, a healthy portion, and a light drizzle of balsamic.
