I felt that I had been scammed. Over the phone they said, they would give me $600.00 for my car…read more When the tow truck came I thought it was unusual that there was no business name or phone number on it nor did it have any plates on it. Tow truck driver hooks up car and takes pictures under it. He takes picture of title and my divers license. He says, we have to wait for the company to receive pictures. We have some friendly conversation. Then he looks at his phone and says, the price is determined by the fact that your catalytic convertor was original yours is not and you might have to pay us to take away the car. It this point I feel I been had. I told him to just leave the car. He said, we will have to charge you a $125.00 service fee. I told the driver I have been had, and I thought something was a miss when you don't have plates. He replies, yes I have plates it is in the back window of the truck. I couldn't see it. I told him that, and he goes in the truck to dig out a paper that had a picture of plate. After some talk we settled on a scrap amount of $200.00. I believe the catalytic convertor was OEM. We bought the car when it was three years old with a manufacturer warranty still available on the cat. We have never replaced it. They didn't mention over phone that price will be determined by if I have an OEM cat.

I'm extremely disappointed with Firestone's handling of my warranty situation. I purchased tires…read morefrom Firestone under the 90-day buy-and-try satisfaction guarantee, which clearly states that I should be able to return or exchange the tires if I'm not satisfied. Here's the problem: I tried to return them three separate times within the 90-day window, but every time I went in, they didn't have the tire in stock. I was told to come back later, and each time, they still didn't have it. Now I'm just six days past the 90-day period, and they're telling me the warranty no longer applies--despite the fact that it was Firestone's own inventory and scheduling issues that caused the delay in the first place. This is not just frustrating--it feels dishonest. I played by the rules. I made multiple good-faith attempts to resolve this within the warranty period. Now Firestone is hiding behind a technicality that they created. If this is how they stand by their "satisfaction guarantee," then it's clear that the warranty is more of a marketing tactic than a real promise. This is the kind of experience that makes customers lose trust. I'm asking Firestone to do the right thing and honor the warranty. If they don't, I'll make sure others know to think twice before relying on their guarantees.

I replaced my steering rack and pinion myself and needed a wheel alignment afterward. Joshua found…read morea transmission leak and was super helpful. The alignment came out perfect, he even fixed my slightly off center steering wheel. Another shop told me I would also need to calibrate the steering angle sensor and pay extra for it, but here they did not mention it and it was not needed. Everything turned out great. The price was very reasonable. Unlike other shops like Midas that told me to fix part of the problem myself, which is completely ridiculous, he handled everything so my car drives straight now. They did it very quickly too I called ahead and had everything done while I waited in just about an hour to an hour and a half. I will definitely come back again. Huge thanks to Joshua for showing where is the leak at!

SWITCHING POLARITIES…read more Someone once asked my thoughts on a battery store, and I said "well, there's a lot of positives and negatives". Despite their signage out front saying otherwise, this business is listed as 'Batteries Plus' on Yelp. They can be found on the left end of a strip mall in Bolingbrook near the intersection with Weber Rd, near Charley's Cheesesteaks and KO Sushi on Boughton Rd. The other month my 3yo's toy plane ran out of juice, and he asked me to fix it. "Sure buddy, no problem", I told him, "how hard can it be to find a pair of LR41 button batteries? Shouldn't be that expensive..." Famous last words. Come to find out, not only are LR41 button batteries a non-standard type, but they're hella expensive ($5/ea). Button batteries are the bane of my existence and pose a serious health risk, so yes, I hate them with every fiber of my being. The sales associate helped me find what I needed, and $11 later my son's plastic model 737 was making its usual cacophony of noises. Whoever designed that !@&$% toy to use the most obtuse batteries available should be drawn & quartered like in medieval times (the era, not the dinner theatre). * TL;DR * If ever there was a niche store, it's Batteries + Bulbs. I shouldn't need to come back here, unless I'm dumb enough to buy another toy that's powered by atypical means (anything other than 'AA' or 'AAA' batteries). The store is organized well and serves its purpose, though not in a terribly exciting fashion. At least their name spells out exactly what's offered, no ambiguity here.

Do not come here, the staff doesn't know what they're doing. I cam in for a simple battery fix on…read moreSunday, August 9th the same day they let me know as they were changing the battery they accidentally broke my screen and the sensors, they "fixed" it. But The same day I notice the screen is lifting on the left corner . They couldn't install a simple screen properly!!! I came in again on Monday, August 10th they got the left corner to stick down but now there is a bright green line on my screen and the same left corner is heating up to a ridiculous temperature. I come in again Tuesday, August 11th they tell me the mother board is fried and my phone is basically useless now.Lastly they said my phone still turns on, nope completely dead. My experience was full of lies..I have to get a brand new phone which is not cheap and all I came here for was for a battery change. They destroyed my phone do not come here unless you want to spend 1k on a new phone. Very disappointed I had so much hope and was so patient for the staff to get it together. All they did was refund $96 which 1. Isn't going to get me a new phone and 2. Is not even how much I paid to get the battery changed in the first. how did I come with a phone that had no problems other than needing a new battery, to now having a Phone that will not even turn on? They tried to blame the overheating on me, but what a coincidence that the second I brought it in on Monday the motherboard started to fry in the same corner of the screen that they failed to properly secure because of my over usage with the battery?? I genuinely wish I never came here
