On road trip from Arizona. One of worst storms for Chicago this year. Brand new headlights replaced before I left......headlight goes out, wiper blade splits. Story time. So last week I phoned different car places as my wife and I needed to take the car to get fixed as it had a few problems. 1. Front passenger tire there was a noise 2. Back passenger tire kept going flat even though the tires are brand new. 3. Engine light on got to do with the gas situation. So I phone this one place to see how much they would quote us on the car. They said 58$ so I said when can I come in he said Monday morning. On Monday I dropped my wife off at work and took the car to the place. I told him the issues we had and then he said it will be 98$. Please note he still hasn't looked at the car or given us a full quote of how much the repairs are going to be. He then books me in for Tuesday 8:30 I go again and ask him I need a quote for the carand showed him the codes why the battery light is on and all. He then said he'll look at it. I asked how long he said about an hour. I said okay and took a little walk up the street and back. Went across the road to general dollar to get something to drink and hung around in the parking lot. Next thing he calls me and tells me that they changing the one part and that the nosie by the tire is cause by the frame and that I must take the car to a body shop so they can fix it there than they tell me the tire they couldn't find any issue besides a nail in the tire which didn't go in and said I must go back to the place I bought the tires. He put a new part in the car and I'm standing there like but I didn't ask you to fix it. My wife phones me I tell her everything and we both worried now because they never told us a price as we just asked for a quote now they fixing the car. She is asking me for the price and I told her I have no idea. They finish up with the car and the guys writes down everything they did. He then tells me it will be 257$ I then tell him wait I didn't ask you to fix the car the man just stands there. I then had to take money from my savings to pay for this. He then says that they the best since they got good prices. (Not sure if that is true) he then shows me a photo of him from when he first started he was a lot younger. ( still don't understand why he had to show me that) anyways the car is working properly now. They managed to fix the noise by the tire so it wasn't the frame the tire was just rubbing on the felt. They charged us 65$ for the part They charged us for putting the code in the system even though we gave them the code that we got from auto motor, for labor and all 130$ They charged us 48$ to check the nosie by the tire . Now I know people in the car industry and they would never work on your car before giving you a quote. Like my wife said what if we didn't have the money? read more

This is my go to shop for all my automotive needs. I have three cars and have taken them K &D for service over the past 3 years and have "never" had to bring my vehicle back for any service performed. My vehicles have been repaired correctly the first time at a fair price. After having my daughter's vehicle brakes repaired improperly on her road trip in California, I took her vehicle to K & D after she returned home complaining about issues with the brakes. K & D serviced the brakes and now my daughter is a happy camper. I only take my vehicles to K & D for service for three reasons, 1. I never have to bring my vehicle back for improper work, 2. The quality of their work speaks for it self because I never had to complain about work performed and 3. The cost of repairs is 'very' reasonable when compared to other repair shops. Place is an absolute joke, obvious as soon as you walk in. Filthy, unorganized, and unprofessional. Refused to work on my suspension because they claimed it wouldnt pass emissions. Then touched one tire and said it was fine. Never asked about emissions and wanted the work done whether it was fine or not. Stay clear! read more

As far as I know, they have always been honest and fair with me. Usually give me options on parts and wether we patch it or replace for a more permanent solution.
