The employee came to my car and carried the old battery in for me so he could test it. It was dead as a doornail even after we charged it at home for several hours. He hooked me up with a great replacement. On a another note, a while back, my daughter said the battery in her car died, do my husband went and night a replacement here. Come to find out, that wasn't the problem at all, so I went to return it. Surprise! They don't allow returns on car batteries. Thankfully, the store manager had mercy on me and refunded my money on the battery anyway as it was unused and untouched other than to transport it to and from the store and my house. He earned my business with that kind act. That's customer service. :)

Scammers…read more110% Caught red handed several times for one friggin job, which they had to redo because of their installation, so instead they called Monroe and said they gave them bad parts and got new ones. That's Monroe's loss because the reason the struts were no good was because they left the giant stickers across the top of them and they couldn't seat to the car. I drove my sister an hour on the freeway twice with the car like this, steering all unsteady. They even tried to fake it like they fixed the struts and called me begging to get the car which I couldn't, only to call the next morning and found out it wasn't pulled in until then. So he was trying (desperately) to get me to pick up the car, (I'm sure with they had cut the stickers out, because it had never entered the shop yet. They put the struts in the next day when they arrived. Had I picked up my car Mike would have made up a story about me picking up my car I am sure and kept the brand new struts from Monroe, hoping I wouldn't notice in the few days left I had in my warranty that the car was still unstable. There was also a very serious problem with the rear axle which I know they had their hands on to put shocks on but they didn't mention it to me because they Cherry picked their work. This is how I first met Mike at the telegraph location. I have worked on cars at home, I'm aware of how much shops charge, and asked him for a quote. It was so long ago I don't remember specifically it might been a hub, but I recognize an "I don't want to do it" price when I see it. Later it turned out it cost half of what he had quoted me being the point. So I already knew the telegraph location was sketchy then they moved the sketchy guy to the Ecorse location so that makes me think that they're all sketchy and I'm done with them and I think anyone should be warned the same.

I can hear the employees not wanting to work and even telling customers false information, I'm no mechanic but I do a lot of work with service shops and I am a car enthusiast myself. To tell a customer they need to change their fuel pump to be able to get more life out of the oil as well as fixing a thermostat doesn't seem pretty fair. So once I got checked in, he told me it should be only about a 40 minute wait, so I waited and it really only took about 30 minutes, I was in and out real quick and then I headed right to work. The good thing is they open at 7 and my appointment was for 7:30 and I was driving out the lot at 8 am and at work by 8:15!

He scams people for the business and refuses work that isn't convenient to them. So they installed my front struts Obviously wrong, left giant stickers across the top so they couldn't seat properly. When I brought it back to them they use the warranty and said the parts were bad and made Monroe eat the loss. Here's the thing though-Mike tried desperately begging me to come get my car at the end of that work day I brought it back. It was too late and I did not have a ride. I called in the morning to see about picking the car up and someone else answered the phone unaware of what Mike had done and said no they just pulled the your car in it hasn't been in till today. So had I picked up the car I'm assuming they had cut the stickers out with a razor knife it would have been no different no work done and I only had a few days left on my warranty which I believe he was counting on. And-bonus-they get to keep a pair of brand new Monroe's for the next guy-free to them So like I said he's scanning for the company. The other manager told me he believed it was a mistake and he had mixed up cars, But I was able to ask Mike separately and his story was that they had put the car in the shop replace the struts and it was ready that night somehow but then they had to pull the car back in and replace the struts again. I said you put three sets of struts in my car?!? He said "yep" I literally saw a mechanic that was in the room to the side of me laughing because I had caught him in a lie and he performed so badly He also signed my paperwork for me and I realize that as I drove it to Firestone to get all the work looked over because I don't trust them one iota. When I called him to ask why he signed my paperwork he just kept screaming "you don't know who I am" It was just a distraction so no one else would know that he did it. I know exactly who Mike is, he's the reason I will never return to a shop that I had recommended to many people, paid a bit extra a couple times because of loyalty and thinking that they did good work. He ruined telegraph location, moved on to ecorse and ruined that also. I first met him over 10 years ago with that original overpriced quote so there's no way they're employing this man for over a decade while he's constantly hustling, scamming, and harassing people without being completely complicit. As you walk to the prominent service counter you notice a comforting odor of WD40 and engine oil, think of it as a sign. These guys get straight to the point, provide insight and help on questions you have, often everything you need in stock by a quality brand and at competitive pricing. What sends this place over the top is in the back though. There you'll find one of the most competent and speedy machine shops you'll ever have need of. Swap out some bushings? Ten minutes. New wheel bearings pressed in? Overnight. The machine shop alone is reason enough to frequent Hastings.
