so disappointed in the service we recieved today. My mother walked in the store, and there were two employees. one was a man and one was a lady with dark hair. the lady said "hello". to me, saying hello to customers is standard and indicates they see you in the store. My mother walked up the man and began to ask him a question because no one was standing in front of him. the lady said "he is with a customer, that's why i said hello". first of all, that's totally fine that he is helping someone else. she was in no rush and said "oh i'm sorry" and walked over the woman. when she arrived at the woman, the employee said AGAIN "that's why i said hello, he was with someone". now come on, that's overkill. she was rude and rolled her eyes like my mom had done something crazy. i've never heard of hello meaning "come to me". usually the words, "i'm open, how can i help you" indicate that? my mom simply took her business somewhere else and didn't argue because there's no reason for that.
